  @wrwlumpy Though, technically, Big Mitch is not 4th in blocks, if he had 2 more he would be tied for third most blocks. I know, I know, if your aunt had balls…blah blah blah blah. But gosh, I’d like to give Big Mitch the courtesy of a twisted White House Style declaration and yet announce his blocking proficiency as among the best in the business. Those current Big 12 stats probably amount to fake news…

  @dylans The PER info is excellent … but it is important for all of us to remember that Mitch is a good college player, as you mention (average is pretty good). But he’s not necessarily “good” or average at KU, meaning relatively speaking. The point I’ve tried to emphasize is “at KU”, vs. some other lesser school (like a New Mexico St.). To be a blue blood and compete for a national title, his role right now is not preferred. It is very interesting that Mitch has pushed himself into that 15 range. It’s not so good that a starter is in that range. And I love Mitch Slapped. That is awesome.

  @JayHawkFanToo He’s certainly at the right place if he does have NBA dreams which I’m sure he has. I really do think he’ll make a development jump at some point, could be between this year and his Jr season or Jr year to Sr year. Luke Maye of North Carolina had a few big games last season as a soph and now is their leading scorer. Not saying Mitch’s situation is the same but maybe there will be a point this season Mitch has one of those games where everything clicks and he builds off that.

Even with just two gone there would still be an open roster spot.

  @REHawk Until the Big12 can consistently put teams in the final four/final 2 the regular season high rankings as the best conference don’t mean too much to me. Part of those high rankings are just a result of there not being any doormats in the league. TCU moved out of that realm years ago. 2002 was the last multiple teams from the league season, and both of us lost in the semi’s in a pretty easy year to win a national championship.

  Merry Christmas to you all! These pages are one of my daily stops, usually frequent in nature. When I look at the SB nation sites and see the profane filth appears on those pages it’s too much for this older fan. Haven’t found a good page for White Sox fans, Badger fans, so I rarely visit.

  Dok was a Beast in this game! I just got around to watching the game on ESPN replay a few minutes ago… been busy. work work work, now its time for play. I’m off work til next year! But I digress. Udoka looked really good IMO. Made some really good moves down low in the paint, shaking his man or even double teams for powerful dunks and nice smooth over hand hooks and neat lay ins. He also tossed a couple sweet passes too! I was super impressed with his progression this time. On SVI. I think he was also a Beast this game too! Man, some of those drives for dunks off the curl were absolutely nasty! He loves that lefty lay in, he loves that pull up from 10 feet, he loves that step back long range 2 or trey. He was showing all kinds of game on both sides of the court! I loved it! Bring on the Big 12! Rock Chalk!

  @JayHawkFanToo I, too, am high on both Garrett and Cunliffe. And if Preston does not become eligible, maybe DeSousa can eventually climb the ladder to meaningful minutes. This could become a very different Jayhawk squad by March; a 7 man lineup transforming into a rare Bill Self 9-man fighting crew. Through the transformation Newman must find his niche and break out of a scoring slump. When he finds his angles we are looking at another 15 pt. scorer.
