When I go to a carnival booth, I don’t cry foul, or claim conspiracy, or try to mischaracterize others by saying they are asserting conspiracy in operation of the carnival booth, or the carnival. Conspiracy and crying foul appears to be for suckers in D1, unless the authorities say its so. When I go to a 1-arm bandit, or a roulette table, where odds are apparently asymmetrically in the house’s favor, I do not cry foul, or allege conspiracy. It would be goofy. Why would anyone cry foul, or conspiracy, about D1, or Self’s recruiting? There appears to be some asymmetry of some kind, that’s all I can anecdotally observe. Its hardly proof of anything. Its an appearance; that’s all. Who knows? Maybe the appearance of asymmetry is somehow crucial to the entertainment aspects of the college basketball industry? I don’t know. I am just a layman fan. I just love the greatest game ever invented. I have no idea if someone like you should, or shouldn’t, cry foul. I just don’t know. I believe aliases should not mischaracterize other aliases as believing in conspiracies, especially when an alias asserts repeatedly that conspiracy in college basketball appears to be for suckers. I just know I am not crying foul, nor intending to suggest any conspiracy in this instance. I am leaving identification of fouls and conspiracies to the authorities and except for the reputed investigation of college basketball by FBI/DOJ, I have NO reason to suspect any fouls or conspiracies, or anything thing else improper to be going on beyond what the authorities and/or experts find and have found in in the past. It just appears to me like KU and Self are not able to sign certain kinds of players that my horse sense suggests they should be able to sign. But, hey, I’m a layman and a fan, so what appears feasible to my horse sense, may not in fact be so. Rock Chalk!

  I agree with @BShark on Beard. We haven’t seen a coach come into the league at a football school and make it’s fan base forget about pigskins during the few winter months. Also, I might have to lay off the Liberace jokes. Nah.

  Mitch is gonna be a beast this fall! The kid can shoot too. Granted he didn’t do it much but if he says his more normal position is SF then I have to believe he can bring a trey gun. Would he be the biggest SF we have had at KU? 6’8" 230 by fall, from what he was saying, is a goal of his. Peeps on here have been lamenting our lack of trey shooters on this team. I think Mitch can bring that. I am purely speculating but I think that Grimes and Dotson will be pretty good shooters from deep and I bet Garrett and Cunliffe will surprise us as will Charlie Moore. We will have options is what Im trying to say. Then add to it the deepest front court since 08.

  Vick could be a dynamic player. If it weren’t for the baggage, there is no doubt Self would want him back. He’s a huge talent that showed signs of potential stardom. Maybe this could be reconciled. His mom is very good with her approach.

  Smart is an interesting player. For all of his flopping, he’s actually a very good defensive player. That’s part of why the flopping is particularly annoying with him. He can defend without all of that silliness. On top of that, because he is so strong, he can defend basically any perimeter player. He’s underrated as a ball handler. He’s a poor shooter, but he isn’t a bad overall offensive player because he is a good passer and has an assist to turnover ratio better than 2 to 1. He’s a really smart player (no pun intended) on both ends of the floor as far as understanding scheme and spacing. If he was a decent shooter, he would likely be in line for a huge contract, but because he’s such a poor shooter, it’s hard to figure where he fits in the modern NBA.

  @drgnslayr Most of the stuff I do is very small quantities for custom builds. 3-d works well for what I need since no high strength parts or mission critical components are involved; at time I have even used balsa foam with epoxy or acrylic finish for filler parts…very easy to work. At this time and with the non-commercial printers readily available, even a simple bezel for an iPad takes hours to print and it cannot yet compete with other technologies, such as injection molding, for production type runs. I do have a local source for injection molding.

I strongly doubted illegal conspiracy as an explanation of very much, if anything at all. All but proven conspiracy theories are mostly for suckers IMHO. It saddens me to think there may be a vast illegal/criminal conspiracy that has college sports generally in its dastardly grip. I am flabbergasted that anyone suspects Bill Self could be one of its criminal masterminds, or even stooges. But the end of the Cold War and record declassifications reputedly now show the McCarthy Era, vicious and opportunistic as it reputedly was at times, turns out was apparently not totally a witch hunt. There really were communists and communist informants in our government, same as there are reputedly foreign assets and informants in high and low places today. So: I suppose it’s possible Jay Wright, Coach K, Cal and Self could all be criminally masterminding everything. It’s possible Russia, or PRC, or even tiny Israel has turned them all. But I still doubt it. Don’t you? Nevertheless, I enthusiastically support a fair, legal and ethical investigation and adjudication by the FBI/DOJ. Heck, I would even like to see a commission plus all levels of law enforcement investigate sport for the criminal and Intel money laundering I suspect could conceivably be going on in college sports betting, even though if I were forced to choose, I would probably choose that it was probably not going on.   @DoubleDD But also remember what I said … that using the IRS issues is a way to apply pressure. So while I don’t believe that was the impetus of the prosecution, I do think it could come up later as pressure is applied.
