Transfer Rumblings

A third chance at love!
-
-
We have enough room for Griffen, Storr and Hunter?
Let Furphy, McDowell and Zach walk….maybe EJ as well and roll with 13 schollies?
-
If Furphy and McDowell leave we can go to 13 and get all 3
-
Best lineup but Bill would never is:
Tyrese Hunter
Kugel/Mayo
Griffen
Storr
Dickinson
-
Apparently Storr’s girl friend at Wisconsin has transferred to the KU women’s basketball program.
-
From what I’ve heard Storr is a secondary option. Beers and such say Juan Hunter Griffen KJ Hunt but we will see
-
@FarmerJayhawk a second team of philon pass more zeke kugel and flory could make for some fun practices.
I’m sure that’s the goal is to have legitimate competition at every spot so no one feels too comfortable and practice can be actually competitive.
-
Sounds like Griffen couldn’t wait (to visit). Spotted in Lawrence last night.
-
@FarmerJayhawk This lineup won’t get it done and I’m not sure we land more than just Griffen.

Hmmmmmmmmm
Not enough shooting with that 5. Also heard from a reasonable source the Tyrese wants to be the main PG somewhere.
-
@BShark D2 and the beloved pets strike again
Least you are seeing the idiocy in rolling the same 1, 4 and 5 out there expecting different results.
1 and 4 needs change but as I’ve said a hundred times it’s never gonna happen
-
@kuballin10 why spare Hunter in that assessment, clearly he has his own critical flaws: matador D, injury prone, lack of athleticism?
-
@approxinfinity He’s a walking double double of 20 and 10 while the other two mentioned aren’t even close.
Hunter’s issue I feel is more Bill not figuring out how to tell the guys to guard than just Hunter being slow. He is slow and it won’t change so coach him up differently defensively than if we had Flory or some stud athlete at the 5.

got to give you credit-- your persistant if nothing else. --you still want the sloth clogging the middle and Tryese IS NOT coming to KU , but give you a A for effort

Fair, to be clear I feel more strongly about Storr being on the back burner. The minutes distribution will be a fun challenge

Is he injury prone? He’s averaged 30 starts and 30+ minutes in his career

Bossi update today went hard.

I don’t think this is an OV, he’s just chilling in Lawrence. Is he really just going to stay all week? Hilarious.

Might as well start working out with the team if that’s the case. Saw video of Harris getting in some work yesterday.
-
@BeddieKU23 Rylan and Harris were talking a lot last night, per embedded mole (current student at McCarthy).
-
Awesome work! I’m giddy about this potential addition. Almost felt like the Jalen situation (obv different) but I do still feel Rylan should have been a Jayhawk from the beginning. Didn’t work out but nothing wrong with getting him now.
-
@BeddieKU23 He’s wanted to be a Jayhawk for 3 years now. Bill finally picking up the phone.
-
Tyrese Hunter is so overrated. He has regressed every year in college. That is a hard pass for me.

I feel this way too. Are we really improving by bringing in the transfers we have been targeting? Seems like there is a lot of negative information on the ones out there, they’re former teams not really upset about them leaving. Wasn’t Tyrese Hunter basically replaced?

Mayo and Kugel are both great additions. I have not seen anything negative about Mayo, and I think people thought Kugel was going to be a starter. It appears that is not going to be the case, so I don’t see anything wrong with that. He did have some attitude issues last year, but new coaching staff, teammates, and scenery can change that.
Adding Rylan G. will be HUGE. We haven’t had someone like him in few years. Big time addition if it happens.
Texas added a 3 guards / wings in one day and Hunter left. I watched Texas a lot last year, and he does nothing for me.
-
I know we don’t know why but I still find it crazy we didn’t take him first time. Perhaps it was taking headcase MJ instead but man they had to know he was going to develop into what he is now and what he can still become. Crazy

Alright, I’m with you. I like Mayo a lot, and obviously Griffen would be great. The attitude issues worried me with Kugel, hopefully a new start will fix all that. Saw some things about AJ Storr’s defense being real bad. And obviously the Hunter stuff we agree on.
I just hope whoever we bring in gels well together and we get back to the top with a title run next year. Need better leadership on the court, keeping everyone together and in the game. The team always seemed to fold when they got behind a little bit and before you know it they were down 20+ points and its a blowout.

Not to worry my friend— he is not coming here , to me in big time situations, more often then not- -either can’t make them or just flat disappears- not to worry. We have to many other options to go before him

Two things that I believe are that in the portal era, you just have no clue how a team gel until the ball is tipped. Look at Self’s comments from last Summer. He thought this past years team was loaded, and had a chance to make a run. Unfortunately it did not come to fruition.
Also, leadership is going to be hard to come by. Juan and KJ not being vocal leaders really hurts this team. Leaders are guys that IMO need to be in the program for a few years and understand what KU basketball is. We have those guys, but to me they are not great leaders.

-
@TYOHawk - So I wonder who Harris was talking with last night?
-
@TYOHawk said in Transfer Rumblings:

On campus and today are doing a lot of work there.
-
I am also not on campus today but still hear the steam whistle, so to speak.
-
Well sure looks like Johnny is gone, I don’t expect him to be the last. Still think Jamari is mor then likely gone & still not real clear on Zach. - -Starting to look more and more Hunter will be back.- -Yet still wouldn’t shock me either way… --So looks like 2-possible 3 Scholi’s open yet if all three go----McDowell— -Clemence—& Furphy
-
The vibes on Storr are very good. Ways to go yet but KU seems to be the leader
-
Seems like we’re tracking to be above 12 scholarship players. Also, saw it mentioned somewhere that we might just jump back to 13 and forgo the reduction? How is that an option? I don’t follow that part.
-
@RockkChalkk the penalty was 3 over 3 years, so which years you take those 3 doesn’t matter. We took 2 last year so only need to take 1 more over the next 2 seasons
-
@FarmerJayhawk You coming around on him??? He’s a ridiculous athlete and I’m trusting Bill can mold him into an better Oladipo
-
@kuballin10 he’s definitely and inefficient chucker that doesn’t really defend and that won’t fly in the NBA so when they tell him to go get better at those things KU is a really good spot given our track record
-

Sometimes you just need an “eff you” guy. Ala Remy in 2022.
-
Kind of feels like we were the last ones standing on Storr so we can get him at a more reasonable NIL deal
-

KU is doing a lot to get this one done lol
-
I kind of have some worry about an offensive hierarchy. It’s a lot of guys who will want their touches
-
@TYOHawk you remember Dajuan the pass first PG? Maybe he will be a blessing in that equation?
-

Stack talent and figure it out. Better than what happened last season for sure!

I can 100% get on board if lineup is
Juan
Zeke/Kugel/whoever
Griffen
Storr
Hunter
Issue is Bill will roll out kj and then we will be defended similarly to last year………
Need a scoring pg when kj is your 4 man
-
Well just saw where Trilly D- - & Brennan have put in their predictions— Both say Griffin to KU.
Would be a pretty dang solid group id somehow we could get Kugel - -Mayo- - -Griffin - - AND Storr. I think I could like tht - -a lot.-- 2 down & two to go—Rock Chalk
