AJ Storr is on his 7th… and he will start for KU.

Definitely not a stat stuffer but he can shoot the rock and is a confident playmaker. I think this certainly gives Self a proven scorer in the rotation and good positional size to switch on the wing/4. You can go 4 out with him which just seems to be something they should have in their arsenal as an alternative look to the 2 bigs. I’m not getting my hopes up here but man I like this add if it happens
Intrigued by what role Robinson would have here.
Fills a definite need- made 142 3’s at just under 35% in the last two seasons at BYU.
I know it was 1 game but man did he not look like one of the best players on the floor when they beat us in Allen behind his 18 pts.
We all watched Robinson come off the bench, play PG in Allen Fieldhouse and make dagger after dagger to beat us. Self was there too I hear
Really happy for Furphy. Helps with wing recruiting and in general going forward.
Trending well in the draft, could be invited to the green room
Kugel sure had high upside and would have been fascinating to see him here but this is just another bullet dodged in the end. If you can’t even keep your academics in order, which the bar is so damn low for athletes to begin with, there’s more issues under the hood then Self needs.
Agree with the above, B or C and keep options open for someone. Maybe there’s another Furphy out there.
Shelby takes Kugels spot. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s best we can do at this point which seems like a low bar in itself. Perhaps there is one last trick to get a somewhat comparable talent in that can provide wing depth for this season.
Didn’t see much of any in his freshman year. They won’t all be stars but taking a shot on a former Top 100 recruit doesn’t seem like the worst take. He wasn’t some unknown recruit without other offers either.

The funniest thing to me in Bill’s comments was him gassing everyone up except for when he said “and and and and Jamari McDowell is back”.
So telling!
Was a questionable take from the beginning imo.
How so? Wasn’t a star recruit, wasn’t expected to be a star in year 1 either.
Nova makes a lot of sense but I wouldn’t want to play for that coach. Shocked they haven’t tried to upgrade
Swain hasn’t mentioned that as of now. Don’t think we can land someone like him. He was a starter at Miami and is most likely looking for a starting spot somewhere.
Assuming Miya’s are more analytically driven?
247 final transfer rankings
#4 AJ Storr
#25 Zeke Mayo
#39 Rylan Griffen
#113 Riley Kugel
Probably will change. I’d assume we get the toughest schedule once again especially when it comes to the Saturday/Monday games
Yikes! Certainly not a fair trade no matter what way we look at it. Less headache is all I can see perhaps
Sounds like Shelby will be a Jayhawk. Question will be whether he’s on scholarship or not…
Yeah sounds like he’s had issues on bad teams and had a few outlier huge games against good teams (FAU, Memphis) but agree he’s a microwave kind of shooter you want off the bench.

Jordan Ivy-Curry zoom call tomorrow. Perhaps a visit next week.
I like him. Had big games (and I understand volume was there) but he can score.
Portal over 2k entries. Portal Window is closed. Should see a few trickle in here and there. The only guys left will be those withdrawing from the NBA draft by end of month.
KU is still pursuing Jaxon Robinson & Jordan Ivy-Curry currently. Small committed to West Virginia so he wasn’t interested in winning. Still think we’ll push hard for a wing until they know on Kugel. The 13th spot could go to someone developmental or just a practice body.
Experienced this in Vermont a few weeks back (not tornado) but winds up to 70mph ripped my trampoline that was anchored into the ground and landed on top of my above ground pool, destroyed the trampoline, damage to the pool. Broken basketball hoop (shattered the backboard), broke 3 outside lights and several other things. I legitimately felt like the house was going to cave in and not a fun situation to be in. Can’t imagine with a Tornado near
Finally got that chip on his shoulder he didn’t have at Sunrise etc. These are dangerous kinds of players. I’ll remain out of the rabbit hole until we see it live but man I think he’s someone that may help this team win games.
Reminder May 1st is the deadline for transfers to enter, both undergrad and graduate. Will see some trickling in after the deadline (just means they weren’t announced in quick fashion) but at least there’s a finality to the chaos there.
Same. Still hopeful he is what I thought he was out of high school. Still shocked he’s coming back. Must have improved enough to change minds
New target- Jaxon Robinson from BYU. Some early interest on both sides. Will see where it goes
Thinking if Kugel can’t come in you try… good player
Miles Kelly from Georgia Tech in. Ideal wing.
Yep. Was just recapping for those not paying as close attention and it’s easy to lose the current pulse of things depending on the day
Swain has mentioned an unnamed player could be in play for the 13th spot. He can’t share it yet but it also may be the name in the other thread. It’s not a “flashy name” but “could help down the line”. Stay tuned.
KU is working to figure out the Kugel situation. Both sides want him here.
They will look for another wing if no Kugel. Will be really hard to find anyone as good as Kugel tho
Good one. Wouldn’t be surprised if Arky made those kind of pitches
Yeah I can see the disappointment.
We don’t land these kind of recruits typically. Cal was heavily involved before he visited KU so regardless of a commitment this kid was still going to experience plenty of tampering.
I don’t see any reason to spend high level NIL on a High School point guard unlikely to be able to lead a Self team to a championship in likely his only yr in College.
We will see where it goes but this isn’t one to lose sleep over for next year’s class
Woops. Meant only we may field a second unit that may be really talented, not another big to play along Hunter
remember he was a package deal to vandy with Dort who now is headed to Cal. Shelby was a prolific HS shooter and agree he hasn’t done much so far in College. Interesting
Makes sense, the efficiency numbers are off the charts and he will be facing a new level of athletes. He’s going to be a good shooter but yeah I don’t think your expecting 49% next year at that volume again.

Does UConn have a big man?
Reed from Michigan. Their backup from this yr is a stud too
Well for at least a year we got him locked in. Really want to see him grow here, big fan of his game but hard to even care now. I hope Bill still finds some kids that want to be at KU
Boy I had been worried on him for a while and was scared to ask…
Watch he will be a savant there on d. Just watch lol
