RE: For @RockchalkinTexas
I wasn’t expecting to well up in tears for someone I hadn’t personally met, but I did. I’ve been to four funerals of friends and family this year and was able to stay composed, but this hit me harder than expected. @RockChalkinTexas apparently holds a special place in my heart. I enjoy my bucketteers; don’t any of you dare leave!
Everyone stay safe and healthy as possible this holiday season!!!

RE: What is the worst that could happen?
Worst case scenario- KU in line for the number one overall seed, plays no games due to a pandemic. Leaving nothing but what if’s for all.

RE: Looks like Oubre should have stayed another year..
@BeddieKU23 Yes, Kelly should’ve stayed another year, but I’m still upset that Paul Pierce left early.

RE: DeSousa
I love that Bill Self is being blamed for tuning out a roster devoid of post talent and yet his team is playing the best basketball in the nation, undefeated, and ranked #2.
The warts will show, but Bill is doing a masterful job once again.

RE: Marcus Adams
Wow. Hope he figures life out quickly. He’s blowing a couple once in a lifetime opportunities.

RE: Chiefs
As a Chiefs fan, Mahomes is payback for watching other teams do that to our D for years.

Happy anniversary!
Just realized Buckets turned 10 years old last October!!! Thanks to all who have helped make this site entertaining!

RE: ISU Loss: The Good, The Bad, And The ... Positive
Win at all costs and the fans cry about not looking to the future. Sit Cliff and lose tonight with an eye on the future and fans cry. It’a a good thing KU basketball coach isn’t an elected position. The man has done nothing but win games at a historic rate. KU is 14-3 with a freshman and sophomore dominated line-up in what has been the hardest schedule in the nation. I’m estatic with the win loss record, but think there is much room for improvement in play. That’s what has me excited, KU will be better in March and even better next year.
If Bill manages to win the conference title this year it will be quite the feat with 8 teams in a 10 team conference having been ranked in the top 25. That means 8 teams have been rated in the top 7% of all college basketball. KU will have to earn this championship!

RE: Doke
5th year Ochai is more valuable than freshman Ochai will be. This team needs to figure its own problems out. There is no savior in waiting.

Another post about my grand nephew he was just selected by the Jets in the 5th round. 6’1" 220 rb. Isaiah Davis. Hope he makes it good.
Cool. Best of luck!

RE: You know it's a big day
@approxinfinity I believe they won the conference and finished 10th with an incredibly weak roster led by freshmen. Furphy did nothing (nothing wrong, nothing memorable in a good way either) - Hunter and McCullar carried the team. Without Furphy KU won at a better clip than when he was inserted into the starting lineup over Elmarko. That’s likely because McCullar went down, but where was the Aussie? Napping during the second halves.
Without Wiggins KU wouldn’t have won 20 games. That roster was weak. Without Embiid they lost early in the tournament. With a healthy Furphy a national championship winning point guard and the best big money could buy KU flamed out early this go. Furphy’s biggest contribution to KU hoops was his down under white trash hair cut. ️

RE: You know it's a big day
@approxinfinity except both Embiid and Wiggins carried that team. Furphy did nothing but disappear in big moments while completely healthy. He may become a great player, but he wasn’t one for KU in any capacity.

RE: 2024 NFL Offseason - FAs, Trades, Draft
@rockchalkjayhawk If DBs jam him and miss… TD. But it could also look a lot like Tyreek vs Sneed in the SB if he doesn’t add some muscle.

RE: Great Job Dominick Puni
@jayballer67 They must think pretty highly of Puni to trade up to get him!

Aw, shucks.
He would have been great as a sophomore. What a pickup though in, what was it, July? Just amazing. Hope he does well in the league.
An incredible success story. I remember one basketball guy saying it was a reach for KU and Furphy was maybe a midmajor talent.
I’d contend KU would’ve been better off without Furphy or any other one and done that doesn’t contribute to post season success. He never carried the team nor did he contribute to much on court success. Furphy is going to be the answer to an obscure trivia question down the road of KU lore. He had an unfortunately forgettable tenure. There is nothing he did wrong, he just didn’t stay long enough to make any impact.

@dylans I think he has better hands than Hill at this moment. I think this helps open up the middle for Rice and Kelce. Baring a huge suspension for Rice.
I haven’t really watched him play much, but from what I’ve been reading drops are an issue.
His sophomore year he had 7 drops, but he also had a broken hand. The other two years it didn’t seem to be an issue. I’d hate to watch another player drop balls like the WRs did last year!

RE: NBA Jayhawks
@jayballer67 50 was awesome! His conduct was less so. Glad he didn’t get tossed so he was able to extend the series.

RE: 2024 NFL Offseason - FAs, Trades, Draft
Worthy is not Tyreek. Tyreek was a converted RB. Tyreek’s neck is thicker than Worthy’s thigh. I’m hopeful he can be more of a DeShawn Jackson type. Worthy was super fast at the underwear Olympics 4.21 forty (set the record). But he also showed his speed in games. Not just a speed merchant he stacks the DBs well to gain leverage and tracks the ball very well. Time will tell, but usually when Veach trades up it goes well (this trade up was to get ahead of the 49ers who had reportedly targeted Worthy).
