@SlimShaddy54 I heard the announcers say Brown fouled, but I never heard the refs call it.

Finally Some RESPECT: Jayhawks Favored At Baylor
Saturday, 11AM can’t get here soon enough. This game is such an important game to win, I just hope our team stays on a roll. Finally, I’ve stopped looking at the earlier games and wondering about the what ifs. Just beat the Bears and hope a bowl game is available to reward our late season rallying Jayhawks. RC

Wow, what a week for UConn-3 consecutive losses. OUCH!

RE: KU / Duke Takeaways
I still wonder about the non-call on Maliq Brown. I’ve watched the play numerous times and clearly Brown was backing into Hunter while he was going up for his rebound resulting in the undercutting and subsequent pile up. Funny, a Sports Ill. writer wrote that Dickinson was rebounding over Brown’s back. What a dumbass. When Dickinson’s shot misses, Brown is under the basket and is bent at the waist, then backs two steps into Dickinson while he’s in the air rebounding. The pile up takes place 6 ft from where Brown started under the rim. I guess since KU won, no one is talking about Brown; only Hunter is being villianized. I’m proud of KU for rallying after the ridiculous ejection, but I sure would like to see more support for Hunter and someone calling out Brown for his instigation of the initial contact.

RE: Devin Neal appreciation
Devin’s post-Colo game interview was so impressive. Such a well-spoken, humble young man. He’s a tribute to his family, the Lawrence community and our University. I can’t wait for the Baylor game and to watch his professional career. Imagine how great it would be if he gets drafted by KC.

RE: Other games 2024-2025
Interesting week, #2 UConn loses 2 games, #3 Gonzag loses and #5 IState lost to #4 Auburn. But, #1 is still #1 if KU gets by Furman on Sat.

RE: KU vs Duke Game Thread
I’m surprised that Duke is a 3.5 favorite tonight. Got to win this.
-
RE: Jayhawk tackles Buffalo
KU still needs the defense to step up; KU’s been ahead in the 4th before with poor outcomes.
-
RE: Jayhawk tackles Buffalo
QB Sanders passing numbers are concerning: 3,222 yds, 27 TDs, only 7 INTs, but 31 sacks
-
RE: Jayhawk tackles Buffalo
Colorado is averaging 39 pts the last 7 games, so I sure hope the Jayhawk defense is up for the challenge.

RE: KU vs Duke Game Thread
Stop Flagg=Beat Duke. Flagg took 1/3 of the team’s shots against AZ and scored 24 of the team’s 69. Listed at 6’9", Coach Self needs his best defender(s) on Flagg like Karen on a skateboarder. Like Terry’s chocolate on a cherry. But in my experience, Coach doesn’t focus on an opponent’s top scorer and plays the same defense seeming to reason “hey, if one guy beats us, he beats us.” I sure hope Flory is available; I assume KJ and Flory are the most likely defenders on Flagg. Yikes, my anxiety just shot through my eyeballs. Senior Dickinson v. Fr 7’2" Maluach 9 pts., 18 min will be another matchup to watch.

Here we go playing their FT game.
I sure think the refs are helping them out; calling every touch on us

RE: UNCW Game Thread
McGriff is averaging 13 pts a game this year on a team averaging 108, so he’s playing well tonight. Already has 14 at half. He only averaged 3.8 pts a game last year in 17 min.
-
RE: UNCW Game Thread
Refs are really letting the other guards push off our guys
-
RE: UNCW Game Thread
What, UNCW is averaging 108 pts and 45 rbs per game. Look out now. But, also gave up upper 80’s pts a game to Mt Olive, GA Southern and SC Upstate. This is going to be a super high scoring contest.

RE: Other games 2024-2025
6-Purdue at 15-Marquette at 8 on FS1 is worth checking in on during our breaks tonight. Marquette favored by 5.5 is a surprise to me.
-
RE: UNCW Game Thread
I love games like this because we can watch the returning players and the new guys start to establish familiarity on the court. Hunter’s outlet passes to Zeke and Diggy. Juan’s lobs to Flory. Etc. So much fun.

RE: 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
o sacks on Allen; Mahomes running for his life every snap
-
RE: 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
Buffalo 38 off plays, 217 yds; Chiefs 26 off plays, 130 yds. New Chiefs’ kicker making extra pts though. Kelse no catches.
-
RE: 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
For a minute it looked like KU’s Grimes was calling the plays when KC was on the 2 yd line.
-
RE: 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
Mahomes 10th INT puts KC 7 behind. Terrible start for KC
-
RE: 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
Ravens just scored. 2 pts away from likely OT
-
RE: 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
The Ravens/Steelers game could go into OT and we will miss part of our game… Sure hope not

RE: Kansas-BYOB (bring your own bibles)
When is the last time anyone remembers the QB quick kicking? And who could have predicted it would hit the DB and be recovered by the good guys. BYU must be wondering what happened.

RE: 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
I try to ignore the referees’ role in games because they are a necessary evil. But, for those Chiefs’ fans who do pay attention to referees, good news I guess: Land Clark’s crew is assigned to this game and since the Bills are the #2 penalized team f0r presnap fouls, some report this is an advantage to the Chiefs. Land Clark’s crew calls the most presnap penalties, like illegal formation and false start. The report claims the Chiefs are the least penalized team on presnap fouls; this despite Jawann Taylor’s history of FS penalties. So, if these tendencies stay true, we should see some presnap penalties called on the Bills, thus giving the Chiefs’ defense a much needed advantage.

RE: Kansas-BYOB (bring your own bibles)
Full credit for this win goes to KU’s defense. Only giving up one TD for the game and a FG in the second half. Great job D. But, credit to BYU for holding our running game to 73 yds on 33 carries. What’s up with Hishaw? Injured, doghouse? 2 yds on 3 carries. Oh my, now KU takes on the media hype machine that is Colorado football, which is playing very well at this point. 2:30 Sat on FOX. I sure wish this game was being played at Memorial Stadium.

Hunter may not get his double double, needs a basket and a rb
-
RE: Oakland Game Thread
Zeke’s pts have gone down since he’s been starting. But, the bench is getting more PT
-
RE: Oakland Game Thread
Wow, how many teams covet our second 5: Flory, Diggy, Rakease, AJ and Shak.
-
RE: Oakland Game Thread
Hunter showing some quickness on a couple of dunks tonight
-
RE: KJ Rebounding
If KJ has an injured ankle, shouldn’t he take the next two game off? Or is it the type of ankle injury that playing won’t further injure?

RE: Beat Izzy Beat Sparty
I forgot to mention, but I’m sure others noted that all those empty seats around the court filled with Kentucky fans toward the end of our game. Kentucky fans do show up to support their team.

RE: 8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
There seems to be some excitement that Juju S-S is returning to the lineup. Before the injured hamstring, he appeared in 6 games with 18 tgts, 9 rec for 147yds. One TD and one catch went for 50 yds. I sure hope he turns into a Bills-killer Sunday. Man, I want the Chiefs to beat Allen and the Bills. KU basketball, then KU football, then Chiefs football. What a great weekend. Enjoy!

8/10 Experts Predict a Bills Win
I really like these big games. Beating Josh Allen and the Bills in Buffalo is just about as satisfying as a SB win. I figure the Chiefs are due for a good game and will be up for the Bills. But, good lord the offensive line needs to protect Mahomes better. There are plays where the defenders run into the backfield unhindered and untouched by the O line. Unlike the experts, I’m looking forward to some Josh Allen misfires, followed by INTs. I really want to see some deep passes by Mahomes if he’s ever given time to throw. 10-0 and a near certain lock on the #1 seed will be very sweet.

RE: Beat Izzy Beat Sparty
Usually, I can tolerate Jay Bilus during games, but not during the Champions Classic where it becomes a Duke propoganda/love fest. I’m sure glad Duke lost. I didn’t stay up for the second half and won’t take the time to watch a replay. How did Jay take the loss after declaring during our game that Duke had the most talent of any team in the country?
-
RE: Beat Izzy Beat Sparty
I wonder if the nearly complete absence of fans sucks the energy out of the players.
-
RE: Beat Izzy Beat Sparty
I sure don’t like the NBA style of giving the best courtside seats to about 20 fans. That leaves the end of the player benches watching from far away from the court. Talk about insult to injury: watching your team from 20 feet from the court.

Sounds like KU is favored by 11+ points today. Double digits is a lot over a well-coached team. Go Hawks!
