I feel like we have to win tonight, Saturday and at least one game in KC to be on the 3-4 seed line for the big tournament. Lose one of these and get bounced in KC first time out, we will be lucky to not be a 6 seed.

Arizona is the 2026 big 12 champs, putting Houston’s 2 year run to bed. I think Arizona is plenty talented but watching the last two games and how physical they are especially on the glass. A picky official could call a push in the back on almost every possession. I’m calling it now Arizona is out in round 2 of the ncaa tournament.

I think you could circle a lot things in this one that were an issue. My main concern as it has been most the season is the rebounding. The refs were garbage and it’s starting to become major news across the country right now because what is a foul or a traveling one game is not in another. Sometimes which end it is on is completely different, they could’ve very easily called at least another 10 fouls on Arizona with how tight the whistle was for them. You guys and gals know I’ve always said professional sports in this country are rigged. I’m starting to wonder if college isn’t the same. It literally looked like KU cut it to 2 and the refs got a page or text reminding them of the spread. I think they should press have conferences after the game for officials. I mean how many of us can repeatedly do our job wrong or not all without having repercussions? The guy cleaning the ice machine at McDonald’s gets written up for forgetting to do it but officials at the second highest level of sports in this country making 6 figures have to answer to nobody.

@crimsonblu22 ya idk if Flory thought because Tiller got two quick ones, he couldn’t play aggressive at all. I feel like there were several double digit minutes stretches that a person couldn’t even tell he was on the floor. I mean he didn’t go after rebounds, blocks or even move to get open on offense. That may very well have been the worst game of his Jayhawk career. We really need wins next week and at least in KC to stay on the 4 seed line.

UCF loses by the slimiest margin to Baylor. I really thought that was a cop out call. Dude kicked out his one foot a bit and just fell down.

I was glad to see DP on the floor again for 30 plus minutes. I think we need to make Council bring it up more when they’re both in the game. I put very little blame on DP for today’s out come, he led us in scoring, rebounding and blocks. When you have a guy with the talent of Flory and he plays 32 minutes to finish the game with 2 points, 4 rebounds and 1 block.. that’s unacceptable.

DP shouldn’t bring the ball up the vast majority of the time, he is looking for his shot and no one else making it super easy to defend. DP is a great shooter when he is hot but he not a great athlete and will struggle mightily to get open at the next level.

I think my goals have now changed to just beat KSU and get the sweep anything else is gravy, sad but that’s where we are at as a program right now.

After the last two weeks I now have serious doubts we can make it out of the first weekend

@imajayhawk Yes that team was good but reminds me of this KU team, they just don’t show up to several games a year.

Hard to say what’s been worse the play of our bigs or the refs. We won’t win many more with those numbers from Tiller and Flory

It was between Utah, Cincinnati and KSU games that we were go to with them being Saturday games. Thankfully we didn’t go to the Cincinnati debacle, I would’ve been pissed. I believe the hawks are like 18-1 in games I’ve went to, only loss was ASU in 2017 December I believe.

@mayjay really would suck back in those days 57-58, KU went 18-5 (5 losses by combined 16 points) beat the number 1 ranked team in the country on the road that season but didn’t make the tournament. I believe only conference champions were eligible back then, was only 24 teams. If they had a shot clock back then Wilt would’ve been undefeated in college, teams held the ball for literally minutes against him.

@Texas-Hawk-10 agreed they really seem to have spent some good NIL money this season. They have just failed to win close games. Believe they have like 8 losses by one or two possessions. He probably gets another chance if they get in.
