He needed to be coached like he was playing w/a team! Kruger and his dad screwed that up. The kid can shoot and he can pass, but he’s not out there by himself. I swear even the summer team is not passing the ball to him.👀
Unless the PAC12 picked up a group of CST schools, it would make KState the “West Virginia of the PAC12”. However, the PAC12 does not seem to be in expansion mode. I would doubt KState’s “share” of the Kansas City market would be financially attractive to the PAC12, which already seems to have financial problems since their league network doesn’t seem to be working well for them. I would also doubt KState’s academics are very exciting to the PAC12 which has even more AAU schools than the present Big12! I think KU may have problems if the Big12 “explodes”…but KState, ISU and probably Baylor (with everything coming out of there) are in even worse shape than KU (maybe add TCU & TTU, and even OSU to that list if “Big Brothers” don’t save “little brothers”). Only UT & OU are “assured” of a safe landing, IMHO (and they are the only schools which could “blow up” the Big12)!!
Defense was Svi’s main issue, so showing that he can at least hold his own against bigger guys helps his stock because he has struggled to guard smaller, quicker guys. If you can’t move down the spectrum, you have to be able to move up the spectrum on the defensive end.
“Ochai could be a high major defender early in his career and his skillset is such that I think he could be an immediate impact player for us. We’re fortunate to get a player locally of this talent who possesses all the intangibles you want in a student-athlete."
There would need to be rapid improvement for him to play this year outside of garbage time imo.
Very different cases. One was a one time deal that involved only pictures of a 15 years old (likely a selfie) which is not uncommon for teens in HS given the availability of digital photos and cell pones, while the other involved actual physical contact with a 4 year old and happened over a period of two years.
KJ and Garrett, maybe somewhat Dedric too aren’t always going to wow in scrimmages but are better in actual games. These things have no defense played and KJ/Garrett shine on that end. KJ looked solid overall.
@jayballer73@Gunman I think this is really the ultimate “trust Self” moment. This seems very similar to the Tharpe situation. Self has a clear understanding of the “why” here — why isn’t Vick being invited back with open arms despite high talent, a likelihood of better production and an open scholarship? He’s better than Tharpe by a good ways. Wouldn’t the bet on a senior be better than the bet on a freshman? Especially for Self?
Of course. But that’s only part of the story. There is more at play here.
Thus the hesitancy by some in the peanut gallery. We see Self’s reaction and handling of this situation and it causes us great pause.
Without hearing Self’s words the other day, and back in early April, I would view this differently. Self’s words have influenced my opinion.
I think Self should go with his gut here. Whatever that is.
Sweetly put , I think you hit it right on the nose. - time will tell , I will say once more it’s not going to floor me one way or another. I know Coach has had his run in’s at different points with Vick but still just have to wait and see. - Who knows for sure? - -Only coach and Vick when it’s all said and done.
If he does return - -then great no problems - -if not then we will be fine - -again very well put on your part makes sense for sure. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
Looks like your connection to KU Buckets was lost, please wait while we try to reconnect.
