Really embarrassing effort by KU last night. Ball in the KU scoring 3rd nearly the entire 2nd half and they put almost zero pressure on their keeper. I doubt they'll be ranked after this one.
-
Easier win yesterday. Still not sure about this team achieving the heights of last season.
-
@approxinfinity Not sure if you can change title of thread Soccer/Volleyball as their promising season has started. They've lost to Pitt and Stanford, national titleists in recent years so starting season with a bang.
-
@wissox83 i think maybe we should start a separate volleyball thread?
-
@wissox83 watched a lil of #4 Pitt play us. That’s all I’ve watched.
-
@approxinfinity Go for it, my interest is more soccer than volleyball!
-
@wissox83 i may have misunderstood earlier.
-
KU soccer improves to 6-2. League play starts next week.
-
Another lackluster performance against a bottom of the big 12 Cincy. 1-1 draw giving up a sloppy late goal to lose.
-
KU beat ASU 2-0 yesterday.
Next game is on Sunday against Arizona.
-
@AsadZ Not sure if you watched but that 2nd goal was spectacular. Very long serve into the box from the opposite sideline and headed in.
-
KU wins Arizona state championship knocking of Arizona 2 Nil. Didn't get to watch but they're stringing together some wins now unbeaten in their last 6 matches.
-
@wissox83 I watched highlights and yes it was an amazing goal
-
@wissox83 The 2nd goal against Arizona was also great, she controlled the ball amazingly well in the box and smashed it in the nets
-
@AsadZ I'll go back and watch when I have the time.

Kind of lost interest after some subpar outings, but checking just now and a ranked win at #24 Colorado has them tied for 2nd in conference with 3 other teams, all with 4-1-1 records. They're now ranked 19th. They have a gauntlet to finish the season. Various polls show TCU on the road, and Houston on the road as ranked games and BYU and TTech also ranked in various polls at home. There's still hope for this team to finish the season on a roll like last year.

Watched match last night (instead of basketball LOL) and kind of typical match for this scoring challenged team. They beat winless in Big12 ISU 1-0. The 1 goal came after 40 minutes of controlling the match but KU not having people in proper position to finish. Finally a corner kick with 3 minutes left was deflected in. Not a skill goal at all. ISU defender left her spot standing next to the post and the ball trickled in where she had been standing and inexplicably abandoned.

Terrific comeback win today against at TCU, a tough team that has fallen a bit lately. KU was trailing 2-1 when they equalized the match with 11 minutes left. Earning a point for a draw seemed to be their strategy for the last 11 minutes but the opportunities kept coming and a beautiful cross into the area in front of the goal resulted in a header goal with just 5 minutes left. TCU had no chance and the 18th ranked Lady Jayhawks picked up a key win.
-
Oh boooy, KU dominates first half, but can't score and Houston nets two in the 2nd to win 2-0. At times they just can't put balls on frame and tonight was one of those. Houston is also in B12 contention so they're not pushovers but KU looked like the better side most of the night but couldn't convert any chances into goals.

@wissox83 Hopefully they will bounce back and do well in Big 12 tourney
