Here’s one tip on picking a bracket upset. Rick Barnes has not made it past the first weekend in his last 7 NCAA tournament appearances which includes last year as a 2 seed at Tennessee and his final 6 appearances while still at Texas.
I think I’ll just go ahead and ride with Ol Ricky boy this year and his cast - -they call me the gambler lol - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
In my book, there is only one situation that can compete with a good 4-guard offense… it’s having two bigs, one who is a monster in the post, and the other that has mastered the trey. Talk about taking one out of the NBA script…
Except for maybe Duke… I can’t think of another D1 team that could guard an offense like that. Especially when your trey-shooting big can haul arse up and down the court!
When Doke was in the mix, I had dreams of this team really killing it with Dedric on the trey and Doke in the post.
So… the heck with it. Bill will adapt. He will turn this into a formidable 4-guard team.
The guy we really need to step up now for 40 minutes a game… is Vick. He is doing much better than at any time during his KU career, but he still goes stealth for long periods. He just falls back into a comfort zone, especially when the other team puts more pressure on him. That’s when he has to realize his answer is to turn up the juice and do it his way. He sometimes gets a bit frustrated and tries to do things that aren’t there, consequently, turning the ball over too much or forcing a few shots. Fortunately, he’s a good enough shooter that he makes quite a few of his highly-guarded shots. But this isn’t how he needs to finish his senior year at Kansas. He needs to focus a bit more on creating without the ball to break open for more catch and shoots… or catch/shot fake/drives.
No one in D1 can stop Vick when he plays the right game and focuses on his skill set and the parts of the game he has already mastered!
I’m almost positive after Benjamin refused to do a pre-game workout with his rookie QB one week was the final straw for him in Buffalo. I believe he was brought to Buffalo by someone who used to work in Carolina and was apart of the process that got Kelvin drafted in Carolina. I also believe that person was already fired in Buffalo which really left Kelvin on an island with the organization. He wasn’t motivated to be in Buffalo from the start however and some lingering knee issues have also kept him from being the player that he once was.
Motivation for Kelvin has always been an issue though. Jimbo Fisher had issues with him at FSU early in his career and it wasn’t until that breakout season with Winston did he realize his potential. Then he did the right thing going pro and capitalized on his momentum. Carolina was a good spot especially early then his ACL injury really messed with him. He lost his mom around that time and I think with Kelvin its been easy to fall off the wagon a bit. There was that one off-season he was criticized heavily for being out of shape. I hope KC can help him, he needs it or he might find himself out of the league
UCLA also lost Tyger Campbell, expected point guard contributer, Shareef O’Neil a top 50 recruit and Cody Riley is out a while with a jaw issue. So that’s 3 guys that would play who are not suiting up for them tonight. I agree that they probably just win on athletic ability but man that line looks tempting
I still think they should overwhelm
I agree. It does look like the line is taking into account injuries
@DoubleDD the part of changing society that is currently troubling me is that our democracy depends on sort of an organic opinion from it’s voters. Think time of our founding fathers and how information disseminated and individuals formed their opinions. Now opinions are fabricated. Consciousness is more collective. Something needs to protect us from being used. Our educational system doesn’t teach us to think for ourselves. It needs to.
I fear we are racing toward a nuclear hollocaust and don’t quite grasp how fragile and currently flawed everything is. We need to be interconnected. I like predictable interlocked economies and relationships. No loose cannons. It’s far better for humanity to be globalist than nationalist (this is more about our trade policies than our immigration, but also immigration). Aren’t we all in this together? War between nuclear powers is scary stuff, isn’t it?
I get what your saying and yes especially on your point of how we teach our children. I’m not sold on a nuclear holocaust though. I just don’t see it happening. (Well I do think that Israel and it’s people will be nuked at some point.) But I do see civil unrest in the population. There used to be a time when debates and conservations where had among the greatest minds and the regular average joes. It was celebrated. Now it’s about just winning.
It appears that our leaders are more concerned about keeping their cushy government jobs, than just being a public servant. Just doing what is right. It appears to me all they care about is getting reelected.
@JayHawkFanToo No shoes aren’t even a little the reason for the contracts. KU fans buy A TON of gear. Enough to cover even the crazy $191M contract. I worked in this exact field, first hand, as a manager, and know some numbers to back this up. The paying players behind closed doors is more of a compound effect of this. I can make a longer more detailed post if you’d like tomorrow.
@jayballer73 LMAO. Chicks certainly don’t dig 4 Locos. If I’m trying to get a buzz, I’ll buy the extra powerful Natty Daddy. It’s 12.6 alcohol content. Two of those Tall Boys, and I’m out like a light. Of course, the last time I drank those was when I was sitting in the dark after Hurricane Irma last year. My body can’t hold up to doing that more than about once a year, so I really suck as a drinker.
Ya well you know how it goes. - -that FIRST brew , ahhhhh that tastes good - iced cold , I’m only drinking ONE though then here comes the 2nd - -the 3rd - and then they are going down like water lmao
At least Devonte got paid already… I mean if you’re looking for a bright spot. It may really end up a blessing for him if he gets cut after this season. He can go ball out at training camp and summer league and possible earn another guaranteed deal. Of course that’s being optimistic.
I’m in Lawrence and we went last pm. So fun. Had the lil ones so we couldn’t stay to see the 2 ot. Dang it! The gal from Maize hit the winner, saw her play Vb a lot in hs. But, my preschool gson had a hat trick this am!⚽️⚽️⚽️
Alright, I sort of sucked last week. But I’m already 3/3 this week after last night, so I’m feeling good.
