2023 Guard Jeremiah Johnson #38 overall- Kansas: “Bill Self and Jeremy Case has been recruiting me. I took two unofficial visits there. I like that program because it is a winning program and a main priority for me is winning. Also, they have shown a lot of loyalty by staying with me throughout all that has happened.”
Johnson was shot this summer (context to his comment about them staying loyal).

@BeddieKU23 Got a shot on this one, I’ve heard. Believe he will stay relatively local. KU an Okie schools all over him. Not sure how much we will need a guard in that class.

Well read an article about a couple of 2023 recruits. - -One I think we might have good chance at , the other ummm probably not. Just from what he said
The one I really don’t think A LOT of interest from them is # 12 Matas Buzelis - - pretty much said Duke , Kentucky & Kansas was there watching him talking about taking visits and what have you then when it came to KU he said he text’s them , calls them but he just don’t know
The one who at least sounds like he is interested in KU and KU Townsend was watching him the same day as Matas same Schools there watching KU- - Duke - -& Kentucky Tayler Bol Bowen , # 23 in the class of 2023 , Bowen said : Norm is the one who offered him and Norm came to Brewster and Tayler was very excited to see him , to see him walk in the gym. Tayler said I just want KU to be part of my recruitment and it’s a blessing to have them as part of my recruitment for sure.
That to me sure sounds like he is pretty interested in KU , the question is - - - is the feeling mutual it vey wll might be if Norm offered - we shall see

Good athlete. Offensive game needs some polish and development I was told but length and size for days. Will need weight room too… Hard worker and good kid. KU definitely in there on him. Obviously they r recruiting Buzelis but his recruitment is already a bidding war

Someone get Frito-Lay on the phone. How about M&M/Mars? They’ve both got deep pockets. Remember the Newtek guys? They left for Austin many years back, but started here in Topeka originally. Maybe they have a sweet spot for their old stomping grounds?

Layden Blocker and Scottie Middleton will be in this weekend for visits. Blocker is ranked #34, a pg and Middelton a SF ranked #50.

Blocker has previously taken visits to Auburn, Oklahoma & Ole Miss. In October he cut his list to 7 including KU. Has taken unofficial’s to Arkansas & Baylor. From Little Rock so Arkansas has to be considered a threat. I think this visit could make a big impression on him. Really looks like the kind of PG Self is looking for. 6’2, athletic, defends and functional shot.
Middleton has risen in the ranks since coming to Sunrise. Not sure how involved KU is at this point. Seems like his recruiting is going to change. Originally from FL.

Ran across three 2023 recruits today passing along. The first is the # 11 player off 247 name is Kylan Boswell made his top 7. - -Thing is with this one we were on his initial top 5 Schools of interest and we still in the game. - - a 6’1 PG from Compass prep Arizona, looking to commit sooner then later.- -Other Schools running with us for him : - -Illinois - - Arizona ( probably the favorite but never know , Michigan , Oregon , Texas Tech & USC & KU. - -Boswell says he has visited Illinois , next visit will be Arizona and said he is looking to visit the others, said sorry he could take only 5 visits but would have to see about fit and then visit
Then this kid PaPa Kante : – 6’10 Center out of South Kent Conn , # 92 ranked player other Schols in the mix are : - -Michigan , Rutgers , Tennessee , Syracuse , Pitt , Conn , Iowa , Seton Hall & KU
The third kid is Taylor Bol Bowen 6’9 SF # 25th ranked player other schools involved are # Providence , U Conn , Duke , Arkansas , & KU – We Shall see how things pan out. - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG

KU makes the Top 5 for 4-Star Shooting Guard Chris Lockett Jr. Chris is down to Arkansas, Baylor, Kansas, LSU, and Tulane with plans on committing around Christmas time this year.
Kansas: “I’ve noticed the development they do for their guys over the years. I’ve been seeing their guards play and I’ve been watching them a lot this year. I love the system they run and how they just letting their guards and wings play. It’s a blue blood school it speaks for itself. it’s history.”
From the comments seemed like Baylor/Arkansas battle.

Scottie Middleton updated his recruitment. Only played basketball for 3 years. Here’s what he said about KU. Xavier involved as well now but their coach just got fired. Ohio St got him on an official as well recently.
Kansas: "It was good to get the offer. Norm Roberts came to a few of my games this year and he offered me. He told me that he loves my versatility, energy, and love for the game. I started liking the school two years ago and eventually, I feel that could be a school I can take an official visit to.

20223 Chris Lockett has KU in his 5 finalists , said he wants to makes his decision by Christmas. Other Schools Baylor , Tulane , LSU , & Arkansas besides KU:
Talked about LSU now not having a head Coach might kind of put LSU out of the loop , talked about coming to KU for a visit believe he is 6’5 or 6’6 SG # 56 in 247 at present

Marvel Allen is a very interesting decommit that KU was on hot and heavy before LSU procured his services.

I know we have no shot at Traore and don’t want to get involved in that kind of a recruitment currently but not even all LSU commits are the same.

We just have no need for Traore with what we have signed and what might return (Dave).
I know little about Allen besides he was interested in KU one day and committed to LSU the next. I just started grouping all these high rated kids going to LSU to lose and win nothing as caring about “other” things more then basketball…

Allen is good, worth taking. We made a decent offer but LSU was big balling.
Agree on Traore. He will cost a lot and we already have studs coming in. I’m torn on Dave, he would be our best big but on the other hand I’m excited for the new guys.

Yeah the film on Allen is good and rated appropriately.
Agree I’m torn on Dave but if he returns I’m okay with it at this point. We know what we are getting from him and expecting any of the returning bigs/newcomers to provide what he can when fully healthy, even hobbled is unrealistic in Self’s system. Dave could mentor Zach/KJ another year and the two giants coming another season. I think its important we keep Dave if he wants to stay and get his masters finished. He has his limitations but I respect how hard he’s playing with that bum foot. We shall see

For me it wouldn’t bother me at all if he did come back , hard to replace experience , the only thing I kind of worry some is IF Dave does return then with what we already have here plus with what is coming in I worry about possibly being a factor about someone transferring OR someone not coming because limited playing time because of Dave’s presence
