Certainly an interesting finding. Nothing causal yet, but the association is eye-opening. Would like to see a control group of non-infected student athletes to get a baseline comparison.

Well little confused on this , not sure . - - 247 has 2 CB’S for us today on one has been listed as a CB & the other when you pull his profile list him as an Athlete.
That’s not what I’m confused on though. The player is Omarion Dicken a 6 ft like I said one has him as a CB , the other Athlete from Prescott Arizona - -thing is when you go to 247 CB’s - it shows for 2021 picks - - yet when you pull this kids profile up says he is 2022 so not sure is he 21 - or 22 ? Shows KU as warm all other schools cool.
KU , Colorado , Louisiana , Louisiana Tech , & Tulane -

Keon Coleman decommitted. Which I guess isn’t all that surprising given our offensive (in both senses) showing so far.

Tough to convince guys that it’ll get better when you look this shitty. Not even a single thing positive to point at as far as I’m concerned.

Ok this is primarily question for Farmer , another bud that follows the KU recruiting here in football pretty close or so it seems - - but anyone if they can help answer that would be awesome. - -Farmer so tell me what is this about the possibility of a late recruitment commit of a QB ?
Kids name is Conrad Hawley out of Peculiar Mo. - -I need your help breaking this kid down I follow recruiting pretty close but honestly I don’t see a lot of things that other could - - just not skilled enough to be able to tell yes or no.
Hope you can break this kid down for me Farmer, I’ll tell you what I DID see and see what you think OK : - - 1st thing i see is size 6’6 really good size for QB seems like even with our current QB - his height is a hinderence having a lot of passes batted back -Hawley being 6’6 seems like for sure wouldn’t have that problem.
2nd : Seems like he has decent mobility evading sacks , 3rd seems like he is pretty decent throwing on the run - -rollouts and such
4th thing I noticed seems like he can find his receivers pretty well no matter on the run or not pretty decent accuracy - - seems like he throws a decent to say the least deep ball on the run or sitting up. - -So now here is the question - - Am I just insanely off on the kid - -fairly close ? - -or am i just missing it on this kid ?
Ok Farmer or anyone feel free how do you break this kids techniques is he worth shot? - - guess we offered am I just totally off? - - As for me I kinda liked what I saw.
Also guess we offer a what they called ? A partial? - to the kid from Perry Lecompton - -William Welch. - -Anyone have opinion on him ? - - let me know what you think. – Thanks. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@jayballer67 I think you’re pretty much spot on, my man. There are some traits there to work with. Huge frame. Could easily add 20 pounds of good weight. That’ll help the arm strength. It gets there, but he tends to leave it high. I like the athleticism too. Shows some escapability. Not a guy that could probably play next year or even the year after, but he’s an intriguing prospect. I believe we could land him if we really push.

Announcement will be very soon from what I understand.

Looks like we might be in good shape to pick up 2 nice additions. - -247 has CB picks for us today:
1st guy is Garfield Lawrence a 6’4 240 pound SDE from Tyler Texas we picked up 2 CB’S from 247 others on the list are Arkansas - - -Colorado - - Houston & K-state would be a very nice pick up - -number 505 in the Nation
The 2nd one is and we heard about him the other day: - -Conrad Hawley a 6’6 QB out of Peculiar Missouri picked up a CB from him would like him too.
Both were VIP Scoop picks so that would be some nice positive news. - -Hawley great size Pro style QB ^’^ has some nice touch - just won their State title - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
Looks like we got them both. Mbow would be the last piece if we could flip him from (presumably) Purdue.

that is nice - hadn’t heard Lawrence name mentioned before had you ? - -Sounds like he would be a very solid PU - -and the QB think can compete not to far down the line. - -you don’t think this effects Easters do you?

Yeah, I honestly didn’t think they’d get him . I think Hawley and Easters will compete once they’re here. Sounds like they’re just throwing numbers at QB until they find a couple they like.
-
Which, if we get 2/3 of them, we should end up 7th or 8th in the league. Really nice work.

Considering how the team has been complete ass, it’s a remarkable effort. Things need to turn around though.

One name to keep in mind. Jace Ruder, current RS Soph at UNC is likely transferring. Why should we care? Well, Jace is from Norton, Kansas (very much FarmerJayhawk territory) and I’ve been hearing rumors from around the Mid-Continent League that our boy is coming home because he misses wearing blue. And he got recruited over. Twice. But it doesn’t matter. I’d look for him to be a Jayhawk if we can open a spot this spring. If it means asking Easters to blue, I’m all for it. If he doesn’t take it, we’ll still have two true freshmen next year (Daniels and Easters). Comes from a great family of diehard Jayhawk fans.

That would be good. On another note another QB that’s been mentioned is Hawley - -have you heard anymore on him ? - - 6’6 hard to replace length looks like he has nice touch. You think there is Any shot ?

Can never have too many QB’s. At worst you get one transfer if he can’t get above a backup role.
-
Update: can confirm Jace is transferring and graduating in December. Quite impressive to finish a BBA from Kenan-Flagler in 2.5 years. Also, will have 4 years of eligibility. Hit the RS trifecta: normal, medical, covid.

If he does transfer and goes anywhere but KU that is going to be a big kick in the junk. I am not saying he would be a savior but he is better than anyone on the roster and could be much more.

Idk if we’ll land him but I think we’ll be heavily involved. He wants his MBA and KU’s b school is legit. Plus, big KU family. Beaty royally screwed up there and Les and co. will have to do some repair work.

So I guess my question now becomes , I saw/read that Hawley is holding off and will not be committing in the early period. - - My question is concerning KU and with us getting CB’ do you think he picked up on the fact that we might be having other QB’S commit such as the North Carolina kid/Jace ? - -or considering us and then saw off TOS that there was a QB possibly rumor going to be visiting this weekend - - do you think it might make Hawley cool off - IF he was seriously considering us ?

I think he’s just waiting to see how things play out. If we take a transfer QB in January, I think that probably means we wouldn’t take 3 QB’s in the class. We may offer a grayshirt or something but I think he’s going to have better opportunities than that.

It’s in mid-December like normal. But a transfer QB could just show up and not sign a LOI
-
Signing period starts next Wednesday. I expect 21ish signees. Only guy not currently committed but I do expect to sign is De’Kedrick Sterns. The huge nugget is about 8 will join in January.

Ben Easters coming in Early - -I’m kind of looking for a surprise , just get a gut feel someone we as John Q Public rally has little info on right now that the staff is gonna pop on us - just a gut feel
-
Well that’s good news . - - We got De’Kedrick Sterns back. – -Said he WLL be signing early and enrolling early will be here in Jan. - Has added some weight up to 280.
Kid is a big get for us. Said one reason he had de-committed was the firing of Meadows , and the statement pertains to what I’ve been saying about ALL our coach’s
He said they fired Meadows and he was like man I don’t want to go to a school and not know who I’m going to be playing for in 2-3 years. - - You just can’t keep a wide open revolving door with Coachs - -you will NEVER get any kind of continuity - Goes for ALL our Coach’s
People think simple solution - -oh fire the Coach every 2 years or so, no recruit is going to walk into a situation with a history like that - -alot of kids commit to the Coach not necessarily the School. - -Any ways glad he is back use all these kind of guys w can get got a real chance to contribute immediately/ - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
well 9 confirmed so far and signed. - One thing I noticed. Majik Rector was like the 1st one to verbal coming into this year and now signed, give the kid credit verballed along time ago and stuck with it. - - I have to like a kid like this now days the way things go with kids. - -I know not sure if he will see the field much at leaast early but still have to like kids that make a decision and stik with that decision. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
19+ are signing early. Grays is my only maybe at this point. Lawrence is signing late. Also, might be a surprise later in the week…

just read from TOS - - one of the top recruits is waiting, gonna visit the University in Jan, Neal I guess is going or suppose to sign at 4.- -we got 9 right off the bat & now there has been nothing for some time.

Ok, need some help here. - -We got a commitment from a Punter, which is good seeing as how Thompson entered the portal - - - -it was a PWO which I think is good for KU because the kid looks like got a good leg which I think if things continue he will get plenty of chance to use - -BUT is the # 21 punter it says - has a 5 * punter rating - - 3* kicker rating - -Grayden Addison
So here is my question cause I am not sure - -don’t quite understand , what is the PWO exactly it’s a partial Scholi right ? - -or what exactly how does that work ? - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Preferred walk-on’s don’t get any financial aid since partials aren’t allowed for football (it’s a headcount sport). They just don’t have to go through try-outs to get a spot on the team.
-
Also, 3* Safety Edwin White signed. We flipped him from Tennessee.

Yes. After a year he can go on scholarship and not use an initial counter. He’ll count agains the 85 but not the 25 counter cap.

Any time my man. Also, White signing bumped us to #6 in the Big 12. It’s a minor miracle we could put together a class like this after getting housed all year.
