R We Guarding the 3 Better or Is It Just Bad Shooting Opponents?
-
Failor shot 20% from 3 today.
WVU shot 18.5% from 3.
Before that, KSU shot a more typical 38% from 3.
Before that, ISU shot 40.7% from 3.
What’s up?
Are we guarding better with Silvio around to let Doke be more aggressive and so allow our perimeter guys to guard the 3 farther out?
Or did we just catch two straight weak trey shooting teams on cold nights?
-
@jaybate-1.0 Poor answer, but I say both.On the high side l say we look extra quick on defense and actually running our offense.
-
Could it be Dok has finally been more active and aggressive protecting the paint? With less collapsing, the guards are in better position to defend more tightly or close out more quickly.
-
@jaybate-1.0 I don’t know if it is us or them, but Tuesday might give you a clue: on Saturday OU, excluding Trae, shot 13.3%. So, can we keep them there?
-
Oooh, I didn’t hear he shot 13.8%.
Who ever draws him is getting the honor of walking into a room full of natural gas with a lit match.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Trae shot 40, the rest of the team 13.3, from 3 ptville.
-
Ah, that’s sort of a relief.
I forgot. He had a big scoring night, but was not shooting a super high percentage to get his 40+, right?
Well, Kruger is making it pretty clear. I’m not going to stop going to him till someone figures out how to stop him.
Bill, here is another defensive challenge for you.
