So Michigan had a starting five of transfer all older guys, one was 25. Does that change a little bit how people recruit? I hate agree with Cal but if similar keeps happening HS kids will suffer because teams will stop spending the time and the money on them. I could honestly see it turning the lower tier teams in CBB to a minor league. It already had in some cases.

AZ wasn't bad w/a lot of frosh.
-
@kjayhawks2.0 sure. Lots of them. Some are even employed.

NEWS: UNC Asheville guard Kameron Taylor will visit Kansas this weekend, per his agent James Conley Jr.
Taylor averaged 18.9 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists this season.

dude looks like an athletic freak so sure why not. We barely have any players on the roster lol
-
@CasterTroy he looks like he is a better athlete than anyone that has been in a Kansas uniform in the last 3 years. So that’s positive, I feel like when we line up against the Houston’s, Iowa state’s and Arizona’s of the world. They just have better horses, bigger, faster and stronger.

Wright kid from byu is in!

I keep hearing that everyone's "gone."
And, yes, the seniors are "gone." And the NBA lottery guys are "gone."
But, correct me if I'm wrong, when a player puts their name in the portal, they aren't "gone". They are saying that they are open to consider another opportunity. Quite frankly, unless you've got a multi-year NIL deal (do these even exist?), it seems like a prudent thing to do.
Yes, it means the staff has to deal with uncertainty and they have to recruit as though players may leave... but presumably they have a relationship and know guys' motivations and whether guys are getting serious offers.
We would all like loyalty to the program, but that's as bygone as the days when companies didn't do layoffs and eliminate jobs on an annual basis.
Am I misunderstanding the situation?

@crimsonblu22 who ?

Rob wright

@bskeet Yeah the main downside to putting your name in the portal is you could get recruited over. Players coming from P5 level teams likely find landing spots, but I'm sure there will be mid major players thinking they could get a raise and find they don't have a home once everything plays out.
-
@bskeet that’s the way I see it, you may as well put your name in to see if you can make more money elsewhere. These kids most of which know they won’t be making the NBA are going to try to make as much money as they can while they can. Think of it this way in our respective careers if at the end of the year, every company could bid on us. Most of the time we would likely go with the highest bidder. Money talks and Bullshit walks. At this point I think people are starting to see what most D1 universities really are and have been since collegiate sports went mainstream in the 80s. They primarily sports franchises with a subsidiary of education. Think about it the highest paid employees at the university are usually coaches and now the players. The most expensive buildings on campus are sporting venues and locker rooms.
-
SEC bound most likely. They will overpay
-
Diop in from Arizona St. Let's see if the smoke of us working on him during the season amounts to anything.
-
@BeddieKU23 Blackwell the same? Highest bidder?
-
Good rule of thumb: until a visit gets locked in take all interests with a grain of salt. Sorry for the mixed metaphor
-
@wissox83 what about Blackwell?
-
Yeah he's going to get a payday wherever he goes but probably worth it imo, fan of his game. Johnson from Colorado and Taylor of UNC Asheville are the most known guard targets so far, with both expected to visit.

I think a metaphor combining a grain of salt with your thumb is perfectly reasonable as a variation on drinking tequila shots and licking salt on your hand.
