Doolittle (Oklahoma) suspended for Fall Semester

I like Lon Kruger. He is not only a good coach but an upstanding individual as well…and a Kansan to boot.

Kruger is a good guy and a classy guy. Would have been proud if he had been a Jayhawk.

@HighEliteMajor He is a Wildcat. Not a Jayhawk. Great guy, though. I used to listen to the Silo Tech games on the radio growing up, and Lonnie Kruger was one hell of a point guard.

@HighEliteMajor me too man. I am fully expecting Oklahoma to be 2nd in conference this year. Doolittle better get his act together.

He led KSU to two big 8 championships as PG under Jack Hartman and was the Big 8 player of the year 2 years. As Coach he led KSU to 4 NCAA appearances in 4 years. Not bad.

How different things could have been at KSU w/o that scandal.
As for the suspension it could cost them some games but as we know with the Cunliffe situation the first semester isn’t all that long when it comes to basketball. I can’t say much more w/o reading more about it but if this is really just academic I’m kind of surprised. Remember Darrell Arthur was “eligible” for two years.

@JayHawkFanToo He was my favorite player growing up, and Hartman was my favorite coach. I didn’t turn on K-State until I went to KU. Of course, Hartman retiring had something to do with that.

The “alleged” issue with Arthur was in HS. At KU he kept his grades up and stayed eligible. Doolitle did little AT OU and became ineligible.

Kudos to OU for holding up their academic standards!
Maybe Doolittle should consider transferring to UNC.

It’s great to read all the respect for Kruger. He is a class individual and the Big 12 and OU is very lucky to have him.

He was one hell of an athlete, period. Was drafted by the Houston Astros out of high school among other things.

I believe he also played shortstop for the baseball team at KSU.

If Lon were a real man, he would suspend himself for half a season for not keeping the kid in line.
Short of that, Lon should show some solidarity with the young man by make a deal for both of them to let their eye brows grow together.
