BIPOY and the Hawks vs Donkeys Game Thread

Team played with killer instinct all game. Even Tyler Self did.
-
Well hell yes he’s the best. The only time he loses is because of his players.
-
@DoubleDD And I fear their complacency about going waaaaay down & then executing the huge comeback…It bothers a lot of us on this board. This is the time of year to STOP THAT CRAP !!!

Bench reaction

Since I’m not a Kansan, I don’t have Wichita animosity like a lot of you, so I’m kind of pulling for them here. Sorry, revoke my membership, kick me off the island, invalidate my KU degree, have @approxinfinity delete all of my posts ever, whatever. But I picked them to win this match, so I need them to do so.
Both teams just benefited from phantom phoul calls on drives. Why do these refs make calls like this? Blows my mind.

@Jayrawks1 low

This time of year, the satisfaction wears off pretty fast and I start worrying about the next game.
My Special Reserve Cask Glenlivet is not wearing off yet. Just kind of humming along…
-
@wissox I am a Kansan, and I’m rooting for them and KSU. Heretical, i know…
-
I don’t mind WSU, but KSU can eat crap.
-
Just ask @KUSTEVE I am a closet Schlocks fan.

You know the Big 12 was actually tough this year. I have to tip my cap the Coach and the players. They never blinked. Not all schools are created equal when it comes to the hard wood. Yet when you have a blue blood like KU that doesn’t blink? Man oh man there is something special there.
-
@BShark See, I feel complete opposite. I want all of our Big 12 teams showing up this year! We’ve already lost 2, I think
-
To many KU teams came to the tournament playing not to lose. I don’t see or feel it with this team. They coming to play.
-
Dayton caught a huge break. Should have been a shot clock violation, Dayton 3 resulted.
-
@DoubleDD totally agree. But, they just rolled over a team that they should have. I’m hoping they do well in Sundays game, presumably against Miami…who we can totally beat, but are much much better than who we just played

Yea they did what they were supposed to do. Yet how many KU teams have you seen in the tournament that didn’t do what they were supposed to do. ??? It’s called taking care of business.
-
I’m going to leave you with this post, and I’ll see you gals and guys Sunday.
KU is tagged as a choker in the tournament. Fair or not it’s the perception. My brethren we finally have a team that has no fear. They don’t fear losing. Yet an argument could be made this is the weakest KU team that Coach has had in some time. I picked up on this from coach and his interviews. He’s seen something that doesn’t make sense. Notice he doesn’t and hasn’t bashed this team. When we were all up in arms about the defense. Coach hardly said nothing. When Weber tried to talk up his team playing harder than KU. Coach came out with a scathing rebuke. Unlike Coach.
Boys and Girls this team is special. Is it good enough to win it all. I don’t know? However I’m going to enjoy the ride.

Did we watch the same play? It was WSU shot that did not hit the rim and should have been a shot clock violation, instead they called a foul on Dayton on the rebound; terrible call at critical time…even the announcers indicated it was a bad call.
I watched both games on two big screens and WSU got a whole lot a favorable calls. Marshall can complain all he wants about the seeding but he cannot complain about the refereeing since it clearly favored WSU.
-
@JayHawkFanToo I was talking about a play near the end of the game. I didn’t analyze it too closely because I don’t really care. I briefly saw earlier a play they were talking about that may have been the play you’re referring to.
-
@wissox Why say that? Don’t know him & don’t care. But h e works for the enemy damnit- the KCSTAR ️Nuff said.
-
@globaljaybird Jesse Newell? He’s a diehard KU fan. I don’t care what paper he works for.
-
@approxinfinity still haven’t seen pic of Jeff graves.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 hm. not sure, my wife pointed it out, and I remembered seeing it before.
-
@approxinfinity were you both sober? Seems a lil odd when I think about it.
-
Msu looks tough!
-
@wissox Obvious you don’t know sq abt the Midwest heritage or history of the ️ or how they are continually expressing bias vs KU in their questionable assessment of the off court quandary of this years BB team & HCBS discipline with the team, but we’ll forgive ya anyway… unless ya just outright"QUIT BEING A FAN AGAIN" & in that case, go ahead this time, no one will stop ya. Wisconsin can always use another.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Don’t put it past these guys to use Kansas photos from 13 years ago.
-
@globaljaybird woh there bud, I’m just getting used to having wissox back.
-
@wissox a lot of KU fans are dumping those guys at the ️ They are continually coming up w/new stories from old news just to create clicks. If I was KU I’d ban them.
-
@approxinfinity Let him yak if he wants, no prob from me. No comments either GN
-
@Crimsonorblue22 @wissox @approxinfinity click only on Jesse’s pieces. They are great analysis. Surely Star brass would see the traffic numbers.
Maybe access Jesse from Twitter only.
-
@globaljaybird “Quit being a fan again” because I like Jesse Newell? Come on sir, what’s gotten into you?
-
The thing is Jesse was retweeting the trash pieces on KU. Chicken or the egg? His boss or KU? Lots of fans dropping him
-
@wissox Play dumb its OK but I recall you creating the thread one time about-paraphrased- I quit, I give up, I this & that, wah wah, either in jest or frustration you were giving up on KU?? If not I’m confusing you with someone else, but my memory isn’t that faint yet dude… I’m just connecting dots & ifyou wanna smooze Jessie newell go ahead. No one here has much to say about him after all his twitter rehash of the star bullshit. That was my original point & MO & if you don’t like say so & let it go . Other than that nothing else to say cept see ya.
-
I like Jesse, and I like Gary Bedore, but their newspaper has turned the sports page into a gossip column. I won’t be reading anything coming from that paper for quite some time, regardless of the author. I won’t begrudge anybody who does, but I’m staying away.
-
@tundrahok I’ll never read or have anything to do with the KC star again after this crap. I hope most on here join me in that. Sorry @Jesse-Newell but I don’t do unconfirmed gossip.
-
Hm. I’ve only kept up with the Star for the most part via you guys, so this is the first I’m considering Jesse as having been on the gossip bandwagon. That’s too bad. I really appreciate his analysis of the game and I always considered him a true fan. This feels like business meeting pleasure, and business winning. I stand with you guys, if he’s peddling the drama, not interested. In that case, I hope he goes back to being just Jesse, the informed, intelligent, insightful, well-spoken, amiable, devoted Jayhawk fan (and the Star lets him be that guy).
-
@globaljaybird The thing is sir, I remember that post, and it was one of my most popular threads ever because even though the headline said “I Quit”, if you had bothered to read to the end of it I concluded it with “see you next game”. But if people start sniping at each other on this site, I will quit this site because it’s not who we are.
-
Yes, no need to snipe at each other, we’re all fans with a common bond or we wouldn’t keep posting.
Let’s save the attacks for the bad guys ok? Would hate to have this site go the way of the other.
MSU, beware! This is the year we took our anti-Kryptonite pills. Watch the tapes of last night and behold what is coming your way.
-
@wissox how ya feeling about today? I think the Badgers have a shot at the upset
-
@cragarhawk Some are saying UW is kind of like Butler which beat Nova twice. Obviously, it’s gonna be a toughie. I have no great hopes with the way the Badgers have been playing lately, but UW went to the FF as an 8 seed in 2000 so they know it can be done.
-
@wissox Sure sounds like you’re blowin your own horn by patronizing a little bit & may think you’re a tad above someone else. So do what you prefer. Be proud of humility Obviously you are trying to take this to a level that you prefer so go there alone. All this was, was a diff of opinion abt a writer. If you want to leave, knock yourself out & be our guest. You’re the one that mentioned it, now more than once. End of subject.
-
Guys, I’m gonna shut this one down. Let’s move on and rally around beating Izzo’s butt Sunday.
