It seems like we have more “stuff” going on this year. Could it relate to the opening of McCarthy Hall?
It looks like a party palace.
If that was my place when I was at KU, I’d probably get myself into trouble.

If I could be called a non traditional student and get a room in Mccarthy hall for a semester or two I’d do it. I don’t think my wife would mind being out of the house for a year!

Just a detail, but as I recall from stories about UK’s palace and McCarthy when being built - the NCAA requires that half the students not be players.

Coach Self indicated in a previous presser that there are 40 “beds” at McCarthy and only 16 are taken by basketball players; this would be below the NCAA 50% threshold.

Sounds to me like he knew it was BS, thats why he back tracked and said call my lawyer, does anyone actually think he was at a night club with his daughter in lawrence at 2 am when he lives in texas. I would handle this very swiftly if I was Self. Have the university of Kansas’s lawyers make him publicly apologize or we will go after him big time when this clears up to be complete BS. I just dont think I’d want to piss off a guy that makes 4 million a year. He can find a lot of ways to make go away. @justanotherfan You’re a lawyer is it against the law to falsely accuse people of crimes, more than once if its the same gal as Bragg. I think she and her dad should be in jail.

I haven’t been following this story a whole lot (been buried in work) so I don’t want to say one way or another if what’s going on here is legit or not.
All I can say is that I hope the players have been paying attention and avoid these types of situations both now and in the future, as well as the types of people that can get you into these types of situations.
I don’t want to speculate on what happened because I don’t know and it would be irresponsible for me to pretend to be an expert here when I don’t know much about the facts.

Gosh, I’d hate to be a teenager these days. In my day, it was easier and less trouble being a teen because we screwed up but didn’t get prosecuted and persecuted for little stuff.
BTW: I’m not putting the sexual assault into my statement above. That isn’t “little stuff!”

@Kubie Tho I don’t live in the metro anymore I do stream news most every day from their tv stations. John Holt is one I watch most every night at 9:00pm. I also had read in the LJW that they declined the story but the star had gladly printed knowing that it was largely hearsay from one of the parties involved. Clearly an effort to sell copy regardless of validity. If you research the star, they are also heavily in debt & struggling to pay for a 200mil production facility built to print papers full of advertising & crap stories like the one HEM mentioned about Ty Hill on the day of the Chiefs loss to the Steelers. This rumor filled crap about KU is par for the course, & seems as almost a last ditch effort of a sinking ship trying desperately to stay afloat. Also consider as stated previously that KU is tremendously successful this year & could be Nat Champs in a couple months, while over in Columbia misery is as one rat posted, “is circling in the commode”…JMO
