TRAE YOUNG CALLS HIS VISIT "CRAZY!"
-
Kentucky continues to troll on this tweet.
-
@wrwlumpy I can’t imagine how old this gets for our coaches!
-
I used to think the same thing, but now that the Petroshoeco-agency complex apparently decides so much of the recruiting of the OAD and 5star recruits, especially at point guard and 5, it appears Late Night and other schools equivalents are just residual marketing activities from a previous era, when coaches actually competed head to head for these recruits and the coaches’ recruiting abilities and high school/summer game contacts largely shaped the outcomes. Now, it is probably an event Self probably spends next to no time on. He just shows up for it. The skits were probably done away with so he didn’t even have to do that preparation. My hunch is that there is really not much selling required to get the players to come to Late Night, or other schools equivalents. Me believes the petroshoeco-agency complex decides which schools the players will attend for player branding reasons, and which not, and the KU official assigned to stage Late Night gets notified. It increasingly appears that the coaching staff has to spend the bulk of its time on scouring the country for those players that are NOT already on the petroshoeco-agency complex conveyor belt. The coaches probably no longer have to go to see every player on the conveyor belt, just the ones they kn0w are aligned with their shoe brand and a few that might be on the fence from another brand for whatever reason. I don’t know the above for a fact. Its is just how it appears to me from the outside looking in. It just wouldn’t make sense to worry much about most of these guys that come with other brand leans that 99% of the time go elsewhere. You show up. Do the dog and pony. And go out and go home and watch some feeds of guys not on the conveyor yet. No sleep lost.

@wrwlumpy are there links to the trolls? I just would love to read how cocky UK fans have gotten under the Calipari reign
-
Also I feel like we 100% still have a shot with him. With him not being a guaranteed OAD and more than likely a multi year guy, atmosphere is a huge deal. I’m really glad he was on campus by himself so we could give him a lot more individual attention. Not to mention homecoming weekend was a great weekend to be in Lawrence.

@Kcmatt7 did you see this?

@wrwlumpy Fill me in. I’m not a twitterer. What’s Kentucky’s roll in this story? Or are you just highlighting Trae’s rave about KU?
-
He’s still most likely to end up at Kentucky or Oklahoma
-
@blackmild33 can’t you be wrong once? Ou doesn’t look to be to great in the future.
-
thanks for the laugh guys and gals
-
@Crimsonorblue22 OU is in better shape then you think - - Kentucky gonna get one of the others and Trae end up at OU, the good ol home town boy Oklahoma RROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
OADs crave and need exposure. KU has considerably more exposure than OU.
-
Where is everyone going to play next year? Garrett, Vick, Newman, Young, Svi …who starts?
-
@JayHawkFanToo to some doesn’t matter he is going to get his exposure. Local kid wanting to stay close to home, worst thing that could of happened for Ku is him not transferring out of his High School to play his senior year. With him doing that is just more of a sign that playing home in front of family and friends is weighing a lot more into his decision. It’s ok still thing when all said and done we end up with Sexton. - - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
Also read where Gak had planned on making his decision today and announcing, BUT since his visit has decided to wait for awhile to decide.
Plus I had heard with Colin visiting Alabama again a lot of people thought after he visited he would turn right around then after and commit to them - - - -Welp haven’t seen squat about a commitment - -went to their boards haven’t seen anything hinting that he was getting ready to commit to them, and the longer it goes without him committing since he visited again just makes me like our chances with him that much better. I still feel in the end run we land him. Would be great to have a Sexton/Newman/Garrrett any combination there of next year- - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
I didn’t think young was a oad?
-
Trae taking his last official visit to Oklahoma state this weekend. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@Crimsonorblue22 what is a OAD? I think there were four or five 4
players taken in the 1st round but never labeled OAD till the end of the year.
-
@Ralph ask cal?
-
@KUSTEVE I think Garrett would be a fine backup for the other 4
-
@Crimsonorblue22 he seems to know
-
Every player in the top 100 thinks of himself not only as a OAD but the next Michael Jordan/Lebron James to boot…sadly no one is.
-
Twitter says Gak has chosen Miami.
-
@wrwlumpy yep
-
Gak now falls in the file of “I’ll follow the dude every once in a while just to get a chuckle from his pathetic stats” Recent fellas in the file are Angelo Chol, Kaleb Tarczewski, Zimmerman and the sorts. My all time favorites on the list however are Detroit’s own Malik Hairston and Dallas TX bred J’mison “Bobo” Morgan.
-
Add Keith “Tiny” Gallon to that list…LOL.
