Shaka Smart w/KU mention

@Crimsonorblue22 Huh, thats a pretty convincing article that that the Texas team we face this season will be a different one. Remains to be seen which team will be tougher but I love what our boys showed in the WUG’s.

In which SI “SERVICES” a Nike program laying a year’s foundation before a full stack in order to unseat Adidas KU withering under multi-year domestic OAD and 5-star blockade at 1 and 5…hypothetically speaking, of course.

That was a cool read…but is he allowed to full on coach in the summer?
-
@VailHawk I was wanting him to jump Ridley!

I think Ridley will be a good barometer for how well veteran Texas players accept Shaka’s style and philosophy of coaching.
Ridley lost some weight last year and was in better shape. Will he continue to improve his conditioning? He better if he hopes to make it at the next level. He has pro potential if he can continue to slim down, speed up while maintaining (or building more) strength. If he buys into Shaka’s mantra, he could have a big year. He will have to speed up to play in Shaka’s system, so he is at a point where he sinks or swims. If he can’t speed up his game (foot work) then he may end up on the bench.

I am not sure if Ridley can lose any more weight; he has a big frame structure and part of his game is to use a lot of real estate. Texas guards are built for speed; however, the front line is not. I would not be surprised if they play a hybrid defense with the smalls playing man to man pressure and the bigs laying back playing zone.
