Alexander to Kansas!
-
Beep beep beep… calling all those “sports media experts” who were positive Alexander was going to Illini!
We’ve got some beautiful beach front property awaiting you in Florida!
-
Yes!!!
Welcome to Jayhawk Nation!!!
-
How big was it missing out on the other two though?
-
I know the Stones said you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need, but this recruiting year, I’ve got both!
-
Meanwhile back at the ranch… one sports newster has already proclaimed Duke as the NC winner next year!
Ha… wouldn’t count on that, young fella!
“Combined, these two are enough to make the Blue Devils a favorite to win the 2015 National Title.”

@hayshawk I think Jones would’ve created problems with coming up with enough minutes for all those guards, so no real loss there. Okafor and Alexander may be a wash at years end, but Okafor is the safer bet to be next years #2 (behind Embiid).
@drgnslayr Gotta love the hype machine. Kentucky’s going to be undefeated with the best recruiting class ever. Duke 2015 is UK 2014 lite.
I’m loving the Jayhawks lineup next year. Once again it’s going to be difficult to get minutes for Frankamp (redshirt?). And the perception of this years team took a sharp uptick after the Duke game, in my mind. I didn’t think they had it in 'em yet.

Come on and hear, come on and hear, Alexanders Jam time band!
-
Can’t believe ESPN Mens BBall page doesn’t have anything on it regarding Alexander’s commitment yet. I don’t feel so bad about not having updated bskeet’s title on the homepage until after work… Still faster than ESPN!
-
This is perfect. We replace Wiggins and Black with Oubre and Alexander. If we loose Embiid and / or Selden we have a chance at Turner and Vaughn. Even if we loose 2 more and don’t get either one of the other guys, we will still have a lot of talent for next year. I always find it interesting how so many people believe that they know what is going to happen with these recruits. It’s one thing to say what you think might happen…others state it as fact.
-
Should have said “lose”…must be past my bedtime.
-
Come on and hear, come on and hear, Alexanders Jam time band!
Nice one wissox.
-
I like the sound of Alexander “The Great”…
KU jumped from #40 to #7 in the ESPN class ranking; if we get Myles Turner, we have 3 top 10 and KU would certainly move to #1.
Interesting note, neither MU nor Baylor class is ranked in the top 40. MU hiring Haith has greatly harmed the program. Baylor was in several top player’s list, but all the money in the world cannot remove the sliminess of Scott Drew…or Waco.
-
@brooksmd Mixing college hoops and Louis Armstrong is always a good thing!
-
@JayHawkFanToo Remind me of Turner, what’s his ranking and expected announcing date? I lose track, especially with working 10-12 hour days like I am right now.
-
Turner is #2 center and #2 overall according to ESPN. He’s expected to announce in the spring. I think we have a decent shot at him. He was very high on KU early on, including a rumor that he planned to commit at Late Night. But when he was unable to make the visit, it seemed like KU started losing steam. He’s a lanky shot blocker who has been compared to Anthony Davis. He’s stated in the past that he’s not interested in competing with another center in the same class, so the decision of Embiid to stay or go would likely be the biggest thing to affect his recruitment with us. Ohio St. has been the one with the most momentum lately, but it’s still plenty early and anything could happen.

I like the new look!
However… it is possible for anyone to edit another poster’s post. You might want to take a look at that.
And links aren’t hot.
-
@drgnslayr good point on Links need to be hot.
About the right to edit posts: you’ve got that right because you’re over the reputation threshold for that right. Be good! I think like the spelling of favourite, the inclusion of this right may be a Canadian thing… Some sort of innocent until proven guilty sensibility. Cheers!
-
@drgnslayr K, links are now hot again.
-
Anyone notice that Cliff says point blank that he talked to Jaquan Lyle last night and that he is going to KU? Just around the 1:50 and 4:00 min mark? He also says its a pkg deal.
-
@Statmachine Nice find Statmachine.
So it looks like Quentin Snider must have recommitted to Louisville knowing that Lyle was going to decommit and join Alexander at KU.
-
Jaquan Lyle decommitted quite a while back. I just dont see Self bringing in Lyle until he is absolutely sure Selden is NBA bound. Same with Embiid/Turner. I think Self and KU have positioned them selfs well to replace anyone else leaving for the NBA.
-
approx…
Any way to help the structure so posters can reply directly under someone else’s post?
That would really help things out in here.
BTW: great job!
-
@drgnslayr I’ll take another look at that. Don’t know that they’re tracking the parent/child relationship when clicking on reply button next to a post. It not, it would be nice if I could commit this database change back to nodebb as something an optional nested comment feature could hook into.
-
@approxinfinity it would be great if the new posts are still showing at the very bottom, however if they are a reply to a specific post above, that said post could be in a quote box in that message.
That way you don’t have to scroll through to see if there were new responses.

Interesting feature that I hadn’t noticed yet. Thanks for pointing out the workings of this evolving site to keep us in the loop aprox!
(Had to try it out.)

Ok, that is cool!
