We completely gave that one away. Add to the list the last 3 years 2-8 in games decided by one score. I think any remote hope of a bowl game just disappeared. This circles back to poor coaching IMO. New faces, same result at the end of the halfs. We snatch defeat from the jaws of victory it our new motto for Kansas football. I’m literally sick to my stomach after that one.

@Texas-Hawk-10 I don’t think they should fire LL right now but man that was rough. It’s like we haven’t worked on 2 minute defense or offense since he came to town. The problem is most P4 coaches are packing their bags if they win 2 or 3 games in year 6. You also have to figure he made all sort of demands to stay here including the new stadium. It’s a pretty shitty look to demand stuff and then not even make a bowl for 3 straight years.

I could understand hanging onto Lance or moving on from him. My personal stance would be to let this season play out and move on if he doesn't turn things around. Something to consider: if it weren't for our horrendous sucktitude from 2009-2021 and our fear of regressing to such a state there is almost no chance Lance would still be our coach.

K-State is 3-0. We're 1-2 with no hope of winning another game. It's comforting to know that some things never change.

@Jayhawk_69 this is true and I’m personally fine if we give him next year but if we want a good hire, we would need to up our NIL budget. It appears most of that 300 million dollar donation went to the stadium and not to the players. By the time the stadium is done we will have some of the nicest facilities in the B12. Cignetti turned Indiana around instantly. If you get the right guy here, it’s doable.

We would be 3-0 with their cupcake schedule as well.

@kjayhawks2.0 I'd like to believe that's true but I'm not 100% convinced

Lance is 2-8 in recent one score games. One perspective is that he has made us "competitive." Is that enough? We lost by one score to a team that has essentially the same NIL football budget. Could have won if we'd have cleaned up the mistakes. Remember . . . the stats were in our favor. Let's hope the staff can clean up the mistakes moving forward.
BTW The up and coming coach is at Tulsa -- Tre Lamb. One last thought: It's not an even playing field. Our football NIL is 11th in the 16-team Big 12. -
@nuleafjhawk We would not be 3-0 with K-State's schedule. In at least one of those games, we would have fumbled, blundered, blustered, and clowned our way to a slapstickishy comical loss
