KU ROSTER 2026-27

I’m happy we got him. However the season turns out next year, it will be interesting and entertaining, possibly maddening as well. If you want to feel a bit better about our situation check out Rupp Rafters

@mayjay does this look like a good roster? Feels pretty rough. There are worse things than the number one recruit of course.
Maybe this one won't be a giant puss.

I just wish effin' Self could recruit. This team build is hopelessly bad. I give up on KU basketball.
Just to paraphrase comments I have read here.....

After how last year went with the number 1 guy, I can blame one for being cautious. I still stand behind me saying it was a bubble team without Stokes. We are probably a safe bet to make the NCAA Tournament with this roster but I see no chance in competing for a Natty or even conference title at this point.
-
Also it's a top 15 roster right now analytically. If you add Vyctorius Miller it jumps into the top 10 comfortably.
-
@kjayhawks2.0 I wouldn't say bubble team because of Bill Self and they would have got someone else but I think it would have been fringe top 25. Not great at all but not in danger of missing the tournament. Stokes raises the ceiling significantly.
-
They’ll keep expanding the tournament field dont worry. We can make it past the first weekend soon hahaha
-
To quote oceans 11, “you think we need one more? You think we need one more. Alright, We will get one more”

What a day to be a #Jayhawk fan. I can envision a fast paced team with Kinney and Stokes and can't wait! The others will have to prove themselves. We will see if Coach can corrall this posse into a real cohesiveness around everyone, not focused on a one and done player.
-
Found this!!! I smile every time I think about him coming.

We need shooting still. Any chance we land Momcilovic from the portal? I think he would give us shooting.
-
I hope we can fill out the roster with a few more experienced, quality players soon.
At the moment we don’t seem to have a top tier lineup.
-
Tyran Stokes was at his new home today

If he doesn’t go to draft he is likely a return to ISU I believe. Entered portal but with a do not contact
-
@Kcmatt7 Well one can dream!
-
Does anyone know if Stokes has a history of cramping?
-
@focojayhawk if DP had a history of cramping he might have handled it better. He brought that bundle of joy into this world in Lawrence seems like!
-
RE Momcilovic the reports are he really wants to stay in the draft. He would command a huge pay day if he did transfer.

How much of this top 15 analytics is driven by the freshman? Is it heavily slanted to Stokes and Kinney? The other 3 freshman are unlikely to play much and for good reason so if they are helping the numbers that's tough to take without a grain of salt.
Kinney is a major question mark having such a big role as a freshman. I know he's highly rated and he's very talented and hopefully will be the goods but there's also a good chance there's some real growing pains with him too.
I just think any analytics trying to incorporate freshman who have no data to include is misleading. There's no question this roster isn't as good as most in the Self Era. We only have 5 guys who've even played a college game right now. I sure hope the analytics are right..

On Evanmiya
Stokes is a heavy factor by virtue of being the #1 overall recruit. It then projects Blyden and Dawes as high end players. After that it's more that TK/Reeves/Kohl project out as rotation type guys. Doesn't think highly of Mbiya at all, actually has Adkins over him but I would disagree with that.
Interestingly enough KU last year finished exactly where they were preseason on Torvik, Miya and Kenpom. One of the crazier coincidences in awhile.
