He was MVP for the West team, which won for the first time in several years. The West actually played a little D and Peterson was part of that. Lots to like about what Darryn put on display on a stage that was teeming with talent. There are quite a few guys who looked like raw NBA talent.

For the few months he’ll be in Lawrence, I’m super stoked for him to lead us to an improved 22-12 record and a 4th place finish in the Big 12 next year. Sorry.

@TYOHawk Wiggins had 1 move and relied on athleticism. Peterson looks more versatile.

Those nine players - highly regarded, smooth, fierce - whatever words you want to use to describe them did absolutely nothing to improve the program. Nor did any one of them lead us to a National Championship. You know who takes teams to NC’s? Seasoned veterans. Juniors and Seniors. So, I’m not going to put all my eggs in Peterson’s Easter basket because he won’t do any more for KU than any other person listed here.

@approxinfinity Lol - You know what really helps? Having basketball season over. Well, over for us. I’ve actually enjoyed watching the tournament this year. Plus the Women’s teams - oh my - they play a much better brand of ball in my opinion. You know - weird stuff like passing, rebounding, free throw shooting - crazy stuff like that.
And, by the way…tell me I’m wrong about the OAD’s.

@nuleafjhawk Not so sure about that he will do more then McLemore-- -for sure better then Xavier Henry , Josh Selby , Alexander , Diallo for sure 100 % no doubt.- -Way more complete player then any of those. We will agree to disagree. Did any of these guys make the NBa and do any better then G league or very limited at most mop up minutes other then Ben ?- -don’t think so.
I’m going to tell you right now Peterson will be good in the NBA from day one - -NBA body-- over all ball skills. He has competed against NBA players a lot already and to the man they have all said he is ready right now and has schooled a lot of them in things-- - you got the wrong guy on this.
Darryn ca lead a team to the Championship. Not only Jr’s and Sr’s - - Cooper Flagg is a perfect example, even though it could be harder as Duke over all Freshman Corp i Has a much better chance as a group-- Then Darryn with other lesser knowns
As a freshman I think he is just as good probably better then any of the ones you listed -only Jackson , Wiggins , and Ben might be as good as freshman Still think he is a much more rounded all over better then any of those mentioned

@SlimShaddy54 I appreciate what you’re saying, but I’m saying - what can these guys do for KU? I really don’t give a hoot about their NBA careers. And almost none of them - any team except Syracuse and Carmelo Anthony can boast a One and Done that really, really helps the team/program.

Darryn looks great… maybe better than Wiggins. But he’s just one guy. If the last year has taught us anything, it’s that roster construction is crucial. But I’d prefer to construct a roster with Darryn than without.

Once you put apples in a pie you will like them.
I think Darryn will be a good player. There is no 100% guarantee but he seems good from what I’ve seen. Now we need to find the rest of our roster in the portal.
