Plays like this!

I’m anxious to see him play again! I hope he shows some of that esteem he had in high school, before he had his swagger neutered in college. Maybe it’s just playing against tougher competition. I wish we would build kids up instead of tear them down.

@drgnslayr the age old positive vs. negative reinforcement debate. Positive reinforcement has been proven over and over again to be more successful than negative. Tough to convince boomers of it though. Old habits die hard. I do think he even tried some with this group. But I think he’s been trying everything he can think of a nothing has seemed to land with this crew. That’s why I keep being hard on Hunter even when his individual production has been fine.
Accountability still has to exist even when positive reinforcement is the key motivating tactic. And if only one person is willing to hold others accountable, then they are the bad guy no matter what. The relational capacity of this team is so low. I think that was the big coaching mistake of this year. They had some success early and seems like (I don’t actually know) they may have skipped out on some early team building thinking they’d be ok but then those cracks exploded as soon as any adversity hit.

Great post!
I’ve always considered it a curse when we are ranked high … especially in the fall.
I’m an old boomer. I was coached by both… + and -. Both ways worked with me, but the times were different then. Youth were used to facing negativity, too. I think the youth today, most have little or none of that. So if it hits them in the mouth in college, I can’t see it being helpful. Just my two cents.

@BeddieKU23 Watching that replay I’m kind of pissed the ref didn’t call a foul! Guy really got him on the arm!

Man I hope Juan, Zeke, Hunter and KJ have a helluva game Saturday. We get a decent draw and can make the sweet 16. I want that for them and appreciate what they have done for Kansas basketball even if it isn’t much. But I have never been more ready for next year at the beginning of March ever. I’m thinking Langford, Giddens, Rush, Chalmers, Taylor, Johnson, Bmac, Wiggins, Dotson…. We are Kansas basketball. NBA caliber guards playing above the rim and catching lobs. We haven’t had that since Ochai and Braun left and I long for it to return. No more walking the the ball up the court, getting it and running next season. Pushing the the ball up the court and not dribbling in circles continually. God people used to fear the hell out of us running.

@kjayhawks Amen! https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/44073554/kansas-mayo-shares-racist-threatening-posts-made-social - I hope police is doing something about it. And let’s hope Zeke will play freely as his own self, just like Zeke we know. He seems a mellow dude, but a deadly silent assassin on the court! Let’s roll, Zeke!!!

Doesn’t legalized gambling bring out the best in people?!?

@dylans @jay4ever they have trace those accounts and no one them follows anything Kansas related and 3 of them are fakes all together. Not an excuse to act that way but hopefully Zeke has moved on from it. You gotta be very mentally tough to play at this level.

@kjayhawks Thanks. F 'em, I hope there’ll be repercussion. Yep, Zeke’s strong mental will overcome it.
