Everyone Hates the Raiders

  • Ugh. Too many three and outs with the game on the line. Here we go!

  • Why not a Steele run on 3rd and 2?

  • @AsadZ first time all game you have success running it and you decide to throw it. The clock goes below 2 minutes if you run and of course Mahomes has to rush the throw while getting smoked for the 30th time today

  • Shoot gonna fart around and lose this

  • Wow lucky as hell today

  • Wow. Raiders are gonna Raider i guess.

    nice to count on that.

But jeez. Appalling display by the Chiefs on that last drive.

Chiefs need to go back to the drawing board to figure out a few things.

  • I honestly think the refs panicked and didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t an illegal formation that I saw. The only question is if they blew it dead before Reid recovered but the keyboard warriors will have a field day with this.

  • @kjayhawks not in the same book

  • We’re going to be the worst 3-peat Super Bowl Champs in the history of the NFL

  • @nuleafjhawk the positive is this team hasn’t played one clean game all season

  • That was a very confusing ending. The ball was snapped before the Raiders were set. QB wasn’t even looking but said he clapped his hands too early. If they weren’t set, it should have been a false start. But Illegal Formation? Did KC decline it?

  • @Gorilla72 It was an illegal shift. Multiple guys were in motion when the ball was snapped. False start stops the play from beginning. The penalty was declined because we got the fumble.

  • Weird that both halves ended so unusually!

  • SMH

How Chiefs won today is beyond my comprehension and imagination

  • Btw, I think today’s referee crew needs to go back to drawing board as well. They sure muddled some stuff up. Made some simple calls seem questionable to the audience. And flat out called the wrong team for a penalty early on. Crazy.

  • Wow, QB O’Connell had 340 yds, 2 TDs to Mahomes 306 yds, 1 TD. And Raiders had 116 yds rushing to KC’s 63. This season is so stange. KC was awful in this game on both sides of the ball. But our 3rd kicker did just fine.

  • @stoptheflop we’ll get to the Super Bowl and Mahomes will be 38/38 for 635 yards, 7 TD’s and no interceptions …and we’ll lose on a 72 yard field goal with no time left on the clock.

  • @nuleafjhawk nailed it!

  • @AsadZ said in Everyone Hates the Raiders:

I’ve been writing the same things about the Bears except change won to lost and it’ll be accurate!

  • Secondary is struggling mightily.

Since Jaylen Watson’s injury, there has been several miscommunication and gaps.

Just recently this used to be a position of strength, now they need help.

  • The need for Snead!

  • I no longer believe the phrase a win is a win. This team has huge problems starting with Mahomes’ often poor passing; No 15 is missing wide open receivers, sometimes when he’s not under pressure. Maybe the trauma of usually having to run for his life carries over to plays when the defense isn’t rushing hard. But, I haven’t seen Mahomes miss so many receivers as he has this year. Add in Kelsey’s decline and the constant loss of wide outs to injury and I just don’t see how his team gets past its first playoff game. But I didn’t count on blocking the short Denver FG attempt or O’Connell’s incredibly slow reaction to the early hiked ball. My goodness, it hit him center chest and I don’t think he even realized it until after the Chiefs recovered. I guess I could change my thinking and expectations: who needs to pick up that first down with 2 minutes left when all the Chiefs have to do is let the opponent find a way to lose the game on its final possession.

  • Yea, it’s been a weird year for sure for the Chiefs. Dumb luck is dumb luck though. I’d rather have it than not.

You could pretty easily argue that Mahomes has had to adjust to new receivers pretty frequently. Some not very good in some ways. Same goes for Andy and the coaches. Maybe it’s harder than what we think to game plan and adjust.

My two cents: think about how bad it could have been without the Hunt pickup.

The big surprise to me vs the Raiders was how poorly the defense played against the run. We’d been pretty damn good all year. I think some of that was Jones continually lining up outside to find a better matchup, hurting our chances of stopping the run.

    The CBs, that’s another story…

  • The offensive line and the secondary are what concerns me on this team so right now. Mahomes has been a little off at times but also has been sacked the 5th most times of any QB in the NFL right now. Thats with him making plays like he did to Dhop on Friday that ends in sack for 90% of the QBs in this league. Mahomes is currently in the top 9 in just about every QB stat category- yards, touchdowns, completion percentage and QBR. Thats without having his top 2 receivers he went thru camp with in Rice and Brown. Prior to Dhop this roster didn’t have an active top 50 WR in the NFL. Kelce will be there when it matters just like last season.

  • Hopefully Hollywood and Watson can return by close of regular season

  • @AsadZ I hearing Brown is very close, you hope they get back with a few games left in the regular season. I haven’t heard an update on Watson yet

  • @AsadZ Watson is out for the season I believe.

Per ESPN 14 hours agoBrown (shoulder) is scheduled for a checkup with his surgeon during Week 15 and could receive clearance to resume practicing thereafter, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Spin: Brown has been out all season after suffering a sternoclavicular joint injury to his left shoulder in the Chiefs’ Aug. 10 preseason opener and then undergoing surgery in mid-September. Though initial reports after his surgery was performed suggested that Brown would likely miss the entire regular season, the wideout has seemingly avoided any setbacks thus far in the recovery process and looks like he’ll have a chance to get in a few tune-up games before the playoffs get underway. If Brown’s surgeon is satisfied with the health of his shoulder following the upcoming checkup, the Chiefs will likely open the receiver’s 21-day practice window before mapping out a target date for his season debut. Rapoport notes that Brown could be ready for game action as soon as Week 16, when the Chiefs host the Texans on Dec. 21.
