Nice to see Travis and Patrick getting back to their groove here before the playoffs. Mahomes 27/35 304 yards and 3 TDs classic line for him. Kelce 7 catches for 75 yards and a TD. Offensive line has arguably played their best game of the season today. Still a little concerned with the run game.

The next question is do you play starters at all in Denver? You hate to lose this momentum you have built these last few weeks but donāt want to risk any injuries. Maybe play them for a quarter? 26 days to the divisional round thatās a long time to get rusty.

I think knowing you will get penalized makes it more meaningful and memorable.

@kjayhawks with the brutal schedule they have played and knowing that bye was only after week 5 I would give them extra rest and let them get back to practice week before playoff game

After watching the Broncos beat the chiefs Sunday and act like they just won the game of the century. I really hope they beat the Bills this week. All the chiefs starters watched them run up the score and act like fools Sunday. I like the idea of Chris Jones, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, George Karlaudas, Trent Mcduffie and co being a little extra motivated.

@nuleafjhawk Iām not sure if it was or wasnāt at this point, I suppose we will find out in a few weeks. I will say a couple things that Iām thinking are good. Since Patrick Mahomes became a starter the chiefs have played 18, yes 18 playoff games. That is a game more than an entire extra season and more than anyone else by I believe 7 games. So I think getting these 3 weeks off will be huge for their bodies personally. I highly doubt they are all laying around drinking bud light during this time frame. Iām sure they are doing some light conditioning and some practicing. To start the season no oneās says hey these guy have to remember how to play football the first few weeks before they know what they are doing again. They are professionals they donāt work at jiffy lube on Tuesdays and Thursdays to keep busy. They are all football all the time most of them even in the offseason.

A game Mahomes plays 4 quarters in is very unlikely to be a loss, much less a blowout loss. 80% QBWinz stat lol - take it to the bank 80% of the time.

@dylans if Iām not mistaken he has 4 losses by more than one score in his career and has the highest win percentage in NFL history in games heās trailed by double digits in. You saw with Wentz how much Pat improvises to save sacks and make plays.

Chiefs didnāt play defensived game plan they will use in playoffs. Reid and players said it was essentially a preseason ābasic vanillaā defensive plan. And the Chiefs were 0-4 in preseason. DJ wasnāt very good but didnāt have the first string OL in most of his time.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl resting Mahomes last season and went to the Super Bowl in 2023 after resting starters the final week.

The Chiefs won the Super Bowl resting Mahomes last season and went to the Super Bowl in 2023 after resting starters the final week.
Nuttin wrong with resting the players IMO. Long ass season. Mahomes hurt, etc. Rest will be a good thing. However, that Broncos score was painful regardless. I would have hoped for more from the team, however many backups were playing. an NFL shutout? Practically unheard of.

@Kcmatt7 itās just my opinion. Theyāre going to have 3 weeks (?) off. Practice is not like full contact, game situation football. I donāt know that Iām the Patrick Mahomes of what I do, but Iām really good at my job. After a two week vacation, Iām worthless for a while. It takes time to get back into āgame modeā.
I hope Iām wrong. I hope theyāre rested and healthy and kick butt. But I wonāt be surprised if they donāt.

Okay but using your own analogy they arenāt even off of work. They didnāt all go vacation in Cancun for 3 weeks. There is still structure they are adhering to.

Resting your starters on the last week when you have nothing to play for is standard practice and has NEVER been controversial. I donāt even think the nationally hated Patriots were ever criticized for it in the 2010s. I guess we are now the greatest villains in football history BWAHAHA

I listened to the New Heights podcast the other day and all the people yaking about the chiefs throwing the game has pissed off Kelce pretty hardcore. If yall remember the great playoffs he had last season after a very average regular season. Itās about to happen again I think. He has been saving himself for big games in this stage of his career. Everyone just keep talking and adding fuel to the fire. The chiefs are about ready to be rested and healthier than they been all year.

Well unfortunately I think my boys Season comes to the end today.- -We got the task of playing Philly in Philly ( 14- 3 ) @ 3:30 .
We played them the 1st game of the year and lost 34 --29, just a bad match up- -Hurts is playing- And the stud RB more then anything, just donāt think we are stopping him- -I think he finished right at 2,000 yards rushing didnāt he ?
Think it would just have to be out scoring them in a slug fest even though Josh Jacobs has been really good for us I just donāt feel without Watson & not sure about Dobbs - -two key receivers - -Watson for sure ACL -Afraid Iām going to have to say we probably get beat by two TDāS- -Welp there is always next year lol
