I just checked. typed in info asking for information on womens WNIT. - -It said Semi-Finals March - - 28-29 in Las Vegas. - -Will be able to watch of CBS.Com but must have cable provide or satellite
Went to KU Athleteics , and it said information about the KU match up would come out later tonight
-
Great win for the ladies, obviously wanted them to get a second straight NCAA bid but this with hopefully pay dividends for the program getting more practice for the younger ladies. Kinda the same thought process for the younger guys on the football team getting an extra month to practice.
-
Not to change the subject yet why haven’t we played in the men’s preseason NIT in so long?
-
@kjayhawks Is there a tournament called that anymore? The island where were last year, Orlando, and Maui have become the biggies in the fall rotation.
-
@wissox for sure Maui and the battle for Atlantis seem to be the big ones. The NIT is still there just don’t believe we have played in it since Roy was here.
-
@kjayhawks We won it in 2018. But the format is different now, with only 4 teams going to NY this year. They are considered reg season games, and we already do the Champions thing. Baylor is supposed to be in it this November, I think. Called the Tip Off Classic or something.
-
@mayjay I forgot about 2018 apparently

I did, too. I just like looking things up! Someone told me once, “Google is your friend” and, well, I was lonely and needing a friend, and now we’re best buds!
-
@jayballer67 gals are playing at home again, wed. I think.

they was surprised they wasn’t there this year. But getting beat in the 1st round of the Big 12 tourney was a killer. - Good chance all 5 come back next year. I know Jackson and Frankling are for sure.
KU has Columbia Saturday at 4:30 I believe a the phog. - -Nice crowd tonight. ROCK CHALK

They were a bubble team going into the Big 12 Tournament and lost their first game to 1-17 TCU and looked god awful in that game. That’s why they didn’t make the NCAA Tournament this year.

the sad part of that opening round loss to TCU- - - was that they had just beaten them the last game of the Season by 22
-
Well 25 minutes till tip against Columbia for the Womens WNIT Championship. - We have had the luxury of playing all out games at home. - one more to go- Good luck Ladies- - play tough

These women are fun to watch. They play pretty good ball, too.

Does WNIT get a banner?

kinda wondering , might be nice if they did. - They deserve some reward .- would be deserved if they did
-
I don’t think at Kansas you hang that even if there is a banner… sorry
-
Is this Jackson’s last yr? She’s so good at posting up!
-
KU Women, Great work.
-
@cragarhawk because the KU women’s team has such a storied history? - do they have a single post season banner?
-
@dylans couldn’t say if they do or not. Probably not. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s a consolation tournament.
Great for them on winning it, but the best thing about it is the 3-5 extra games they got to play depending on how the actual tournament would have went had they been selected.
Hang it in the practice facility perhaps? Idk
-
@cragarhawk They don’t have the same history nor standard as the men’s team. They have banners for conference championships and those mean even less.
-
@cragarhawk If it was the men’s team I’d fully agree. In fact I would be kinda ticked they didn’t decline the invite.
-
I’m against a banner not that my opinion matters on it. 69th best team in the country woohoo.

I disagree about the 69th ranking. Of the 32 automatic bids to the tourney, KU women were ranked higher than 23 of the automatic bids. WAY higher than most of them.
Net ranking at the end of the reg season was 37.
-
Ehh they could slide it into one of the two girls conference champions banners. The guys still proudly display a Missouri valley champs banner. Not much red in the rafters - the girls aren’t very good and never have been.

There is A LOT of other womens teams that would of given anything to still be playing. -This team has come a long ways from what they use to be. Better chance then not all 5 coming back next year. They are better then what you think
-

Could be - -BUT from wht I’ve hard all 5 very easily coming back. - Her And Franklin quite a duo
-
KU men have only been to the NIT twice. '68 reached the title game, lost to Dayton. '69 lost in the first round. 3-2 record.
I was surprised KU never went back in the days when the NIT was more prestigious and even considered a better tourney than the early NCAA fest. But since P. Allen was one of the luminaries pushing for the NCAA, it wouldn’t have made sense to accept a bid to the competitor.
In any event, KU women have won something the men didn’t. I say banner up!

BANNER UP AGREED. -no reason we can’t acknowledge/ appreciate - - what the Ladies DID DO. - they did something mens Basketball & foot ball didn’t do - -they beat Arkansas lol - -ROCK CHALK LADIES. kind of a shame that we have to have a discussion about whether we should or shouldn’t hang a banner for them- Hang it up
-
They earned the banner. Great season for the Lady Hawks
-
Well, after seeing some of that NCAA women’s championship, I say hang a banner with pride.
