I wonder if we do the same thing we did the 2nd half defensively against Baylor.
Put Juan on Miles and Kev on Miller. No switching from those two and deny them the ball. Make someone else beat you.
CJ Moore’s article in The Athletic quoted Self as saying they didn’t start the game they way they played in the second half, because he didn’t think they would have the energy to do it thee whole game. Thought that was interesting.
Two players on bad wheels. Self was so confident we’d win, he chose to let them rest a bit first half. Not sure we can afford to do that with TCU.
The one thing is , if we can play Defense like we did in the 2nd half - - take care of the ball will help a lot. TCU is a terrible shooting team their % is not good. - -Take care of the ball defend tough and should be able to get big important win

RANT INCOMING
Now that Saturday is over and we have to turn the page so quickly I put all my rage on ESPN today.
They knew scheduling Baylor at home in mid-February on a Saturday would have some significance. Two best teams in the conference for a while now. Easy TV ratings.
They knew TCU was going to be good returning their entire team. That’s why they got the Big Monday slot.
I believe they call this a “scheduled loss”.
Hopefully the momentum this team is riding is enough.
Gotta say I’m nervous for the same reason. Just a BRUTAL turn around. Just keep trying to tell myself that TCU is on a quick turnaround too.
This team’s success is all about energy. They have the motivation for it after getting embarrassed at home but it is not an unlimited resource you can tap into whenever you want. Definitely expended a good amount of energy I. That second half on Saturday.
Winning this game would give me extreme confidence that this team will get to the second weekend. (I’m already pretty confident)
-
Juan must slow down Miles.
I hope team is fired up and has enough in the tank after Saturday’s tough and emotional comeback.
-
I’m gambling on KU all but securing the B12 tonight and taking an alt line -1 for +120
-
I bet we get blessed with Frannie tonight. -I think I’ll just turn the volume down and listen to Hanni - -not a favorite but still prefer him over Frannie
-
Their bench is what killed us in the first game. Believe Miles only had 9, we will start off switching everything I bet.
-
CS knows we can’t go 40 playing defense like that. And as usual he is correct. It won’t happen. But… if you watch closely you’ll notice that we don’t actually have to. Middle 10 of the first half and first or middle 10 of the second half will be enough. If… They can do it for 20 against a great team. And break it up somewhat like that. We’re golden.
-
I feel good about tonight. Let’s make it happen.
-
Kinda stoked for this game. And I definitely know not to get too discouraged if we fall behind in the first half!
-
I know we’re all excited but I’m still slightly skeptical. We got trounced for a half on Saturday. Certainly the 2nd half was breathtaking but it seems like this great team of ours still has some trouble putting together two solid halves of basketball. Some of the ESPN wants a big Monday upset scenario plays in the back of my mind as well, and of course TCU embarrassed us in our house a month ago and I’m still really taking a show me approach to 2022-23 version of the Jayhawks.

Gut says we drop this one but never doubt Self’s ability to win late in the year.

correction, first 3-0 game in history

Gradey finally
-
Looks like CS elected to not switch to start. See how long we can do that. Missing baskets won’t help
-
good thing we brought Gradey on the trip
-
Gradey 5. Frogs 0. Lol
-
Good Kev
-
TCU has the least knowledgeable fans in the B12 about BB. And that’s saying something with ISU fans in the running. Just boo everything
-
gradey Is going to be such a good nba player
-
Damn.
It.
-
Wow that was lazy
-
KJ has to quit fouling so far from the basket
-
@DanR not near as bad as KSU fans, never seen a guy get tackled and boo a foul call like that place

Might be the first 0-0 game in history
was beginning to wonder
-
@DanR I think ISU fans know basketball. Any Texas school fan base doesn’t really know basketball.
-
CS will play the ole Jaybate theory lead management game here. Not switch and starters playing as long as we don’t have a lead more than 5 plus or are down. Bench comes in and we play the switch otherwise. Buckle up for a nail biter folks
-
WVU beat up OSU
-
How many times they gonna remind us TCU blew us out?
-
@wissox entire SEC fanbase too, other than Kentucky
-
At least we’re cleaning up on the glass

Another phantom foul?
