@BShark just sad! Finals probably next week. I’m so glad Juan is under Self’s and KU’s wing. I think of all the kids that are just lost and don’t have a prayer. Coaches can really save them!

Also why having a really strong support staff is key. You need everyone from the head coach down to the secretary in the AD to be going the same direction or bad things happen. My sister is an admin in a major college AD and someday I’m going to get her to write a book lol

Not a miss though I was personally annoyed when we passed on him. If Self wanted him he would have been a Jayhawk.

Same, we kind of got stuck on the connection to Harris & Braun but Self certainly knew what he was doing when he didn’t pursue. Think we got a glimpse of that as well during his recruitment where he kind of bounced around looking for a spot.

@BeddieKU23 I do wonder if having that relationship with a guy like Dejuan would have helped. So much of success in anything is tied to building strong meaningful relationships.

I actually have an impeccable source on this one.
I can confirm that he could have went to Miss St, but really didn’t want to. Once it was clear things weren’t going to happen with Kansas (staff was very worried about his athleticism level and capability to defend) he started looking at more options and wanted to stay close to home.
