Zero pride. This could have been a game if we could have gotten a stop here
-
Hangover from last week’s letdown is what it feels like. We just went through the motions today.
-
Just not the same talent. Phelps is playing hurt I heard
-
Normally I back Lance’s coaching decisions. But I’m beginning to question the wisdom of bringing Brian Borland with him from Buffalo as DC. He may literally be out of his league.
Loyalty to your guys is all well and good, but this kind of stuff can’t continue much longer.

Does bean have a stronger arm than JD?
-
Fairchild all day! Andale kid
-
He put some height on it too
-
@nwhawkfan the personnel is also really bad. We have, maybe one P5 quality corner? Not much at DE except Phelps. And a lack of overall team speed.
-
Well, time to switch to the ALDS playoff game. Gotta see at least one of my teams win today.

There is still large disparity in talent between KU and OU. OU players are bigger and faster.
On Offense, KU has been really good due to creative play calling and using JD’s strengths.
On Defense we really need to upgrade the roster.

@Crimsonorblue22 I would say so, however, JD is a better passer.
-
Well, the defense is giving up some points for sure.
Seems like two significant turning points were both Bean interceptions, and the batted down screen. Unfortunate.
He sure makes other very nice throws though.
I kept saying all we need is a defensive stop and we’re in this game, but then the first INT…
Oh well. Not a horrendous road result while missing your star QB.

Yes, but Daniels has much more precision, accuracy, and touch on his passes. Also much better field vision. I’m not convinced KU wins with Daniels today because of the defense, but I do think KU wins last week and today is more competitive because the score today doesn’t really reflect how today went.
-
Well Can’t really blame a lot of this on Bean and the offense. We put 42 points on the Board , SURE Bean threw a couple of interceptions but he wasn’t the reason we lost. - -We lost because of the defensive side of the ball - -You put 42 points on the board a team should win the game 95-100. - you can try and twist this any way you want but when a team goes like 16 or 17 out of 20 on third downs against you - -thats not getting it done - Our defense has a long ways to go
-
Not going to win many games where you give up 700 yards, and 36 first downs, and never make the other team punt. That just looks like a scrimmage for OU’s offense against a Jr High team.
-
I’ve been saying all year that KU would have some games like this because the defense is still bad. We’re in the stretch of the season where KU is playing the most high powered offenses in the conference and KU’s margin for error just isn’t there.

I dont think KU wins last week with Jalon. Jalon had hit a wall. I do think he is the better quarterback, just that the 2 halves he played prior to injury were not great.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 The remaining schedule is brutal. Which game(s) do you see as winnable.

ISU is the best defense in the Big 12 and just made Quinn Ewers look average and KU made a lot of adjustments in the second half against TCU and with Daniels, I don’t think we see the missed passes that played a role in KU’s loss.

With a healthy Jalon Daniels, every game left is a winnable game for KU. Without Daniels, Texas Tech is probably the most winnable game. That doesn’t mean I think KU wins every game with Daniels back, but they’re capable of winning every game.
-
I admire your optimism
-
Is he coming back? I’m more worried about injuries on the other side
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 good points.

After watching Baylor the other day against West Virginia I think they are also possible winnable - -not saying it will happen but West Virginia rushed the tires of their defense - the same West Virginia team that really didn’t run the ball exceptionally well against us. - Again NOT saying we will - - saying we can - -and agree Texas Tech is als winnable
