Good Grief, Just Beat Iowa State

I’m surprised that there is so much less chatter about today’s game. It’s Homecoming on the Hill and KU is 4 and 0. I’ve watched a bit of ISt this year and after enduring Brock Purdy for 4 long years, I’m not impressed with ISt’s offense this year. Clearly they are a huge step behind the Purdy/Breece offense and before that Montgomery. KU’s offense is stronger, so this game will be determined by the defenses. ISt’s stats are not helpful because half come from playing cupcakes SE Mo St and Ohio. How is it that KU plays such a tougher non-conference schedule than the recently more successful program that ISt has been?
I sure would like to see Neal, Hishaw, Morrison, et al. handle the bulk of the rushing offense. I’m still waiting for our running backs to dominate several series, especially late in the game where they failed against Duke. I’m constantly impressed with Daniels’ passing accuracy and hope he really challenges the ISt secondary. Anyway, game time is close enough that I wonder what everyone else is thinking. Maybe, all our posters are traveling to the game. RC

Was listening to game day , they did a really good piece on the KU football program. KU hs become the Nations media darlings as they say. I have seen multiple interviews of Jalen
Anyways I was watching Game Day and it came to Bear and he said he had to go with Iowa State quoting that Iowa State was averaging only giving up 75 yards per game rushing against them & like 2.7 yards attempt. - They are 1st in the Big 12 in Total defense - - 1st in passing defense - -& 1st in rushing defense - - TIME FOR CHANGE BOYS
Once again going to depend on our O-Line stands up against their D-Line- gotta create holes , gotta keep pressure of Jalen. - -We gonna throw multiple , multiple looks against them.
Guys here is yte another game not a lot of people giving much of a Win to win - -let’s go take another one. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Yes, JBaller, ISt stats show QB Dekkers #12 is not likely to run for any yds, and is mostly a drop-back passer: 101/141 72%, 1,029 yds. ISt only has 534 total yds. rushing of which #21, Jirehl Brock has 64 rushes for 353 yds. The primary passing target is #8 Xavier Hutchinson 36 catches, 403 yds. So, a pass first offense will test our secondary. The biggest question will be can our Dline pressure Dekkers and get him to throw INTs or incompletions?
Correction: ISt play breakdown is 147 passes to 136 rushes. But, yds gained heavily favors their passing game. KU has rushed 148 plays to 94 passes. Yds gained for KU are about even with 981 yds rushing and 906 yds passing.

Good God TCU just taking Oklahoma to the wood shed right now - - 20-3- -with 6:44 to go in the 1st qtr
-
Oklahoma’s misadventures with purple teams chapter 2
-
@jayballer67 TCU with 27 first Q points, but still 3 Qs to play.
-
OK so either people over estimated how good Oklahoma was - -OR - -under estimated how good TCU was. I mean TCU putting up 34 points in the 1st half against Oklahoma , might be a little of both. - TCU’S defense looks pretty good at the present still over 9 minutes to go in the 1st half
-
Either way, Nebraska sucks
-
While waiting endlessly for our game to start, I find myself rooting for Ole Miss against Kentucky. Ole Miss 22,#7 Kentucky 19, 3 minutes to go and Ole Miss has the ball.

Boomer Sooner…Boomer Sooner! OU is getting a preview of what life will be like once they make the jump.

I absolutely loved going to amazing sunny days like that during my time in Lawrence. The team stunk except for 1985 but it was still a great experience.
-
Nice play call
-
Next week. Youngest son is there with buddies, could be trouble
-
Awesome play!
-
Love casey
-
Wheels! Dumbass announcers
-
I hate refereees
-
kind of a weak hold. Looked like bean got hit out of bounds too, but what do I know, I’m a homer.
-
That was a weak hold
-
Announcers might as well wear gym shorts and tshirts.
-
not gonna be easy. these guuys avg only giving up 75 yds rushing per game
-
At least we have a gal on the field
-
Have 42 already
-
Offense showed it can move the ball. Defense must hold
-
@stoptheflop That’s the thing I worry about most with this team.
-
Good D
-
We have a 47 on offense and a 47 on defense?
-
@wissox yes

only 99 numbers and apparently we have 180 players
-
Major hold in the backfield on that first down pass.
-
@DanR Good grief, no wonder we’re good!
-
i might be exaggerating about the number of players. I don’t get it either
-
no penalty here, please
-
Crowd noise️

Runners and receivers need to learn the art of the stiff arm. Guys just run out of bounds when they could gain more yards. Walter Payton would be pissed if he saw it.
