Doke

Dam I hate this , hope Big man will be all right - -this is the kind of thing that he doesn’t need when he is trying to make the big time
-
Here’s a horrible punchline… The only break the kid can get.
hope for the best.
-
That totally sucks.

Argh. I HOPE it’s not too bad. Ankle injuries sometimes look a hell of a lot worse than they actually are. (I’m not digging the internets for closeup video) but I’m hoping for the best for the big guy. Doke had a couple ankle sprains at KU too… the one against Wofford looked like a career ender, but he recovered. Then the one last year against Kstate, and he came back from that too.
Like I said, hoping for the best. Youthful ligaments and stuff.

Heard they took him off on a stretcher
-
oh no that looks horrible

This isn’t the first time someone has destroyed their lower leg the first game of the season. Wasn’t it the first game for Gordon Hayward a few years ago? I wonder if shoes can get a massive redesign to handle sideways motion, I don’t see why you would ever want full sideways motion and this could be heavily restricted.
-
What’s worse is the foot he landed on was none other then Omari Spellman, the same jackass that made a bunch of 3’s against KU in the final four playing against Doke…

Caught a non break https://www.deseret.com/sports/2021/2/11/22278189/udoka-azubuike-out-indefinitely-for-utah-jazz-with-severe-ankle-sprain

Good news!

What I figured. My wife rolled her ankle on a stick at the dog park a couple weeks ago and it looked worse than Doke’s sprain.
I don’t understand the “gruesome” and “devastating” hyperbole. Have none of these other NBA players or coaches or sportswriters ever sprained their ankle before? If a bone ain’t poking out or a joint isn’t stuck the wrong direction, don’t use those words.
