Wisconsin deal

@darrenrovell: Wisconsin deal to Under Armour is done – 10 years, $96 million
-
@Crimsonorblue22 On Wisconsin!
-
@wissoxfan83

Under Armour does seem to be making some in roads with some other programs switching to them in the past couple of years. Wisconsin is the newest, Cincinnati switched this year, Notre Dame last year, Northwestern and Utah also switched pretty recently.
-
Soooo, what do you think? Not a fan

Kentucky Fried Chicken

@DanR perfect match
-
I think i don’t understand how a logo on jerseys is worth $94 million.
$94 million could be put to a few other uses that might be a bit more impactful to the human race than this.
(I don’t fault Wisconsin for this… I just think the whole athletic wear sponsorship thing is insane.)
-
@wissoxfan83 I want to root for them because of you, but it would be easier if their uniforms didn’t look so much like Ohio State…or Nebraska.
-
@bskeet Yer missing 2 million. It clearly says $96 million up there. But hey maybe you were thinking that last 2 Mil shoulda been given to the students of Wisconsin. I agree with you though! That is a lot of money that could be put to much much better use.
James Harden’s contract with Adidas was more than double that at $200 Mil. SO, seeing half that for an entire school program doesnt really seem so bad. Plus we gotta crack that gap between all the NIKE school’s like UK and Duke that are pretty much getting a monopoly on the whole system anyways.
-
It’s all “play money” to BigShoe. Nike created the formula for UA and Adidas to follow.
Glad to see more “competition.”
Go, Badgers!
-
@bskeet These astronomical #‘s have raised my curiosity. Are these payouts “taxable benefits” to the schools & in turn also deemed a deductable "business advertising expense "to the shoecos? The reason I ask these questions is there have been instances at KU in past years where people have raised issues about coaches driving automobiles provided by dealers & thinking that it was “unfair” for them to do so, including dealer tags, yada. yada. I would think a simple marketing agreement for certain KU employees (coaches) to promote a certain local business should basically be quite financially similar to shoe deals to the almighty tax Gods. After all fellas… B’ness is still jes’ B’ness .

Better to be Under Armour than a Nike whore…Go Badgers…get some
I like Under Armour and would buy their gear before Nike any day.

Nebraska and Adidas school in all sports is now dealing with this:

Makes you wonder doesn’t it?
-
Only Nebraska fans can love Ndamukong Suh, the dirtiest player in the NFL.
-
@JRyman surprises me he can do that?
-
@JayHawkFanToo I live in Nebraska. Ugh!! Big10 lovers now.
As a life long Dolphins fan I hated it that they signed him and over paid his punk a$$!!
-
Maybe he can get Lawrence Phillips to the spokesman for the store…all the way from his cell in California.

Two things here. Mangino got his guys to run through walls. Osborne got them to climb walls.
Secondly did you see the story on Phillips and why he killed his cell mate? He roomier was a known gang member and had lots of weapons hidden in their cell. And was linked to other murders in the jail. Guess it is the survival of the fittest.
-
Killing his cell mate is only the last of a long, long, long history of crime by Phillips. I believe he was in jail for a 12 year term? Now he will likely stay there for life.
Keep in mind that his crime spree started when he was rich and famous,he seems to be a text book sociopath.
