Anyone watching the Espys?

I tuned to ABC which is supposed to be broadcasting the ESPYs and …I think my cable provider has the Bravo channel instead…For the last 15 minutes they have documentaries on transgender people and a long, long documentary on Jenner and now he/she is presenting an award fully dressed as a woman.*
Interesting how the media has changed over the years…Jenner is glorified and held as hero for turning into a woman and “being true to himself”; however, when TimTebow kneels after a TD he is told to keep his feelings to himself…go figure…maybe I am just too old for this?
*Correction: Jenner was “receiving” the Courage Award.

@JayHawkFanToo When a short preview of MS Jenner came on about 9:00 pm, dis Jaybird flew da coop…I can’t believe my wife even had the espys on… Probably waiting for that piece abt Jenner. I have to agree with the analogy of Tebow, we live in a strange friggin age. I swear, virtually no corporation , business , or politician wants to alienate any potential customers or voters, regardless of morality, legality, or political correctness. The cultural cleanliness of this day & age turns a lot of peoples stomachs when moraIs on a world wide scale seem to be at an all time low. Personally I have a habit of just turning it off whenever possible. Hell you even have to be careful just using the word “partner” anymore but tv will broadcast anything the FCC will allow & the sky is virtually the limit anymore. That’s the reason I watch less than 3-4 hrs hours of television a week unless it’s a sporting event that I have an interest in.

@globaljaybird See where some California lib bimbo wants to remove the words “husband” and “wife” from federal use apparently to make the others feel better about themselves or something like that. Will probably go to the SCOTUS again where they will make another law vs ruling according to the law.

Our society is in a big hurt. So many people have no sense of what is right and what is wrong. And we’re the ones who are judged if we don’t agree with all the craziness. I like to think of myself as a loving person - I don’t care if anyone is gay or transgender or even a Mizzou fan. Well, gay or TG anyway. But I don’t agree with the lifestyle and nobody is going to make me agree with it. A few months ago I got a tattoo on my right forearm - the whole forearm! - and it’s what most people would consider pretty religious. I have not caught so much crap in 56 1/2 years as I have in the last 6 months because of that tattoo.
And I’d do it again tomorrow. In fact, I have another forearm…

@nuleafjhawk I agree. I don’t and won’t accept the lifestyle, but I could care less what 2 adults do behind closed doors. But force me to accept it as normal and we have a problem especially if I’m declared to have a phobia. It happens to be my beliefs.

First off, when is it good to “tolerate” anything? “Okay fine. I’ll tolerate you.” It is actually pretty offensive.
And you can’t preach “tolerance” without tripping over yourself. Let’s say I am being intolerant. If you demand that I be more tolerant, you are being intolerant of my intolerance.
Tolerance is used terribly. What it’s saying is be tolerant of everyone and their views, unless they disagree with you.
I have no problem with Sams kissing his boyfriend on TV or Jenner using her money how she wants. But let’s be consistent here. If everyone has the right to believe what they want, then let Tebow take a knee. If you believe there are right and wrong ways to live your life, that’s fine as well. Argue against Jenner, Sams, Tebow, Duck Dynasty, or whoever. But don’t hide behind the hypocrisy of tolerance while you do it.
