Butt whipping 80% of the game, then a way too big of a scare for my blood, but good guys go to 878 out 1000 in AF. Well done

When Micheal Jordan scored 69 points, I knew I’d always remember it as the night me and Micheal combined for 70 points — Stacey King, Former Bulls Player

@nuleafjhawk it’s a pretty shitty one. We don’t win without him.

Saunders making all those threes was a fluke even though he is a stud. He missed the big one, Melvin hit a big one, Tiller with a great block and great game. Big Big win as TTU goes down. I got my wish for an improbable 5th win in a row.

I thought we played much of that half not to lose and that led to issues. Add in no Elmarko and Dp with Saunders going completely nuts I’m fine with the final result. I thought the officiating was absolutely garbage in the second and looked very suspiciously like Vegas paged them at the half.

I know it’s just one game but AJ Dybansta was prob the 5th best player on the floor tonight. He also was grifted 4 points at the line when he wasn’t even touched on the floor.

Elmarko is hurt as well (had a brace on his knee). Did we see anyone sub in the 2nd half after Jamari subbed in for Darryn? I honestly don't believe so.

Damn. Elmarko was just figuring out how to use his quickness to his advantage. He was blowing by defenders in a way that made Melvin Council seem slow the past couple games. I hope his injury isn't too serious.

Did he hurt it at half time? He checked out with like 8 minutes to go in the first and walked to the bench. Non contact injury warning up at the break or what?

According to Bill Self Elmarko "got (his tendon, which was the reason he sat out last season) bumped" earlier today and "was feeling it"

Flory shut down Dybansta and he struggled to get inside. We can be disappointed in DP but we saw a 50 point type of scorer in action. Tre White played his usual hard game but his four quick turnovers at the start of the second half changed the tone. BYU is a top ten type team but couldn't handle our defense.

OK thanks and we can handle a tender tendon but we need him for depth.

Yeah, we need him for depth plus he increases our ceiling. He is still a freak athlete and a former 5* recruit and if he gets going he could add another dimension to our team

DP evidently not an ankle issue but cramping that Self noticed at the half. We need him against TTU of course and Elmarko is expected to play Monday for that road game against Toppin and Anderson. TTU lost at UCF today and will be pumped and we should be also after today.

honestly just glad it wasn't a hamstring injury

                                      Melvin was heroic again.

As expected: A freshman was the MVP of the game. Not expected: It was Bryson Tiller!

I'm now wondering if there's a prediction market for DP -- like over/under for minutes played, or does he play in the final 5 min of a game..

That said, let the extrapolation begin-- his efficiency is incredible and it's only a matter of time before someone does the math on how many points he would have if he played every game a normal number of minutes (like 34-36 minutes).

                                      Rock Chalk!

We beat BYU and get immediate gratification and that's all. This conference is so stacked at the top and may only get seven bids in the tourney.

I have not heard from @kuballin10 in a while. While I did not always agree with him (I rarely did, in fact), I always enjoyed how provocative his cynicism was. If you are reading this, @kuballin10 , what are your thoughts on this season heading into February?

If he's not durable enough make him come off the bench. Save him for the 2nd half. IDK, maybe that means we're losing today at the half by 10 or whatever. But If he can't give us 35 minutes or so per game we're not good enough to win a championship this year. Maybe the loss of Elmarko made it more glaring tonight. IDK, but we were putrid offensively and defensively without him.

But the appreciation of Melvin grows and grows. This guy is just like a switch is turned on when DP is lost and he does enough to get us over the top.
