@rockchalkjayhawk I wan to see rookie LT Simmons in action as well as Kingsley at LG. I’m hoping the line is solidified. On the defensive side I’m curious about the d-line too! Gillote (sp) in particular.

Sounds like RT Jawaan Taylor had a torn meniscus most of last season. Hope he’s on the mend after surgery.
Kingsley i think will make most nervous until he can prove himself reliable.

Does Seattle pump in crowd noise? It sounds manufactured, soulless.
The eye in the sky making measurements is fine and dandy, but it doesn’t fix the bad spot.

For the record - I flippin hate the dumbass idea of sitting all the starters. Yeah, yeah - the poor little billionaires might get a hang nail or break a sweat. They’re not getting better or smarter riding the pine.

Getting something on tape gets some fringe roster guys a spot too. May not be on the team they’re currently playing for, but exposure is good. …The games are crap though.

No Mahomes on offense shows just how valuable he is to the team. Yikes the roster has some major holes - Patrick just covers up so many deficiencies.

@dylans completely agree. It somewhat comes with the territory when you have to give a qb a top contract but it can be motivated by great drafting

Bye bye Skyy. 49ers 2027 6th round pick for Skyy Moore + the Chiefs 2027 7th round pick. I’m kind of surprised they were able to get anything for him, he appeared to be the odd man out in a crowded receiver room.

@dylans its slightly better than nothing pending on how the pick goes. I honestly thought a $25 Walmart gift card was all they could get for him. He just never developed into a good route runner or a guy that can consistently catch the ball. Two things that won’t work in the nfl. He a good dude I hear from everyone so I wish him well and hope the change suits him well.

I watched the game last night. glad to see the starters get some minutes.
Sounds like they are looking for some help at RB. I really don’t understand why Mitchell isn’t getting any respect. He seems like a good player to me, having watched him with the 49ers.

Chiefs traded for DT Derek Nnadi from the Jets (exchanged 2026 6th and 7th round picks). Got him back after he was signed as a FA last spring by NYJ. Good move!!!

The only weird part is they probably could have done so without having to trade if they believed he was getting cut. Happy to have him back though.

Looks like LG Esa Pole was cut. He graded out well last week. (Chiefs kept Wanya Morris though).
RB Carson Steele, S Mike Edwards, QB Zappe rumored to be released also.

Cut down day! Yea nothing crazy so far. Maybe S Mike Edwards not making the squad, but otherwise nothing crazy. Carson Steele seems like a good special teamer, but maybe he’ll end up on the practice squad.
The big question is who will they add?? Excited to see. Lots of rumors swirling.

I guess there were a couple of interesting moves today upon closer inspection.
Thought they may hold onto Mike Pennel.
Also, as i suspected, Elijah Mitchell was in no danger. He’s on the 53 man roster. Many Others thought he was a cut candidate.
Looks like they hope to put that Clemson rookie TE on the practice squad? Maybe this can be a learning year for him.

@rockchalkjayhawk Apparently they may re-sign Pennell. As a veteran, not subject to waivers. The Chiefs played with a few of these expected re-signings of vets because, I think, they wanted room on the roster now for 8 WRs so they wouldn’t lose anyone to other teams. This enables them to have people who know the offense in place when Rice gets suspended instead of searching for some castoff.

makes sense. NFL teams seem to have lots of strategic thinking with these things.
I still suspect we’ll sign a few guys who have been released.

The question becomes for the Jayhawks, will any of them get on as a practice squad member. Bean looks like the best QB on that roster when he plays to me. I ain’t at practice everyday but that is a sorry QB room IMO

@Crimsonorblue22 Cobee, KU’s #2? He was put on inactive/nonfootball (injury? or other reason?) status back in late July by Atlanta (who signed him as undrafted FA). Don’t know why…

I would like to have Mecole as a special teams player and a depth piece, as long as he isn’t our WR2 like he used to be. That said, having him or not having him doesn’t really move the needle that much.

Good moves by Veach getting handshake deals done with the vets and stashing them on the practice squad - Pennel and Tonyan. Bottom end of the roster guys rarely move the needle, but Pennel has come up big before.
Correction - Pennel is not signed. Mike Edwards was.
