KSU and ISU have the same bye weeks so no advantage there fwiw. I do love the schedule though. I would personally pencil in 8 wins right now. And I think this team could be better than that.

    Quite the pessimist…

  • @Kcmatt7 6 wins for KU football is a lot of optimism historically. Which QB is going to show up - good Jaylen or bad Jaylen? That’s likely the difference between 4-6 wins and 8-10.

  • Every year when either the Chiefs or KU football skeds come out, i do the same…predict the W-Ls without much to back it up.

I also went with 6-6. I just want a freaking bowl game, please.

  • @Kcmatt7 I have us finishing with our second best regular season record since 2008.

  • I have us winning the National Championship over Ohio State. 68-3

If you’re gonna play - swing for the fences.

  • @nuleafjhawk Were close I’ve got it- -81 – —2

    Those safeties are so frustrating.

  • @benshawks08 lol-- -ya I was hot when we took that sack , we would of shut them out lol

  • I need to do WAY more research to figure out who’s got what, but 8-4 seems like a reasonable goal. I’m really optimistic about the offense. It’ll look a lot more like 22-23 than 24 in terms of motions, shifts, option game. The OL and DB groups are a little concerning. But it’s the Big 12, everyone is varying degrees of mediocre so who knows?

  • At Mizzou, at UCF, at Texas Tech, at Iowa St will be games we probably won’t be favored to win. But I think we have a chance to be competitive in and win every game.

DBs are my biggest question mark. I think Todd/Graham/Hurley/McGhee is pretty solid at CB, although I’m not 100% sold on McGhee. But I think we have some decent younger players behind McGhee. Safety, if the Dye brothers have to play a lot, is a little bit concerning. It would be nice if we could pick a safety up in the Spring portal in April. Same thing for the offensive line and specifically offensive tackle, I wouldn’t mind getting another player from the portal. However, the cost of an offensive tackle could be pretty steep, and I feel good about our offensive line in general.

I am pretty excited about our defensive line and linebacker room. It’s probably the best we’ve had in a while. We also seem to have a pretty decent kicker and punter. And we have some talent and speed at skill positions and special teams.

A lot of new players though, so making a bowl game and beating K-State is my hope for this team. I think they are capable of more than that, but you never really know how a season’s going to go.

I think the OL has a couple of questions, but Foster back massively helps that group. Communication up front should be really good still. I would have liked one more guarantee starter added but they’ve got bodies.

DB is a large question mark. Agreed.

I feel like Edge is a potential issue. But again they have bodies so we will see there.

LB group on paper looks like it could be one of the best groups we’ve had in my lifetime. A big statement, but I love who we brought in.

I think the WR/TE group is going to be a lot better than expectations. I think Pickett goes off in this offense based on his tape.

JD6 just needs to play like he did after that first 4 game stretch. We get the JD6 we know and we win a lot of games.

Losing 3 home games and losing both rivalry games feels pessimistic in sentiment to me…

  • @FarmerJayhawk I have to agree with you. I think 8-4 is pretty solid, I might even go out on that limb and run it at 9-3 but 8-4 feels pretty good
