Greene Suspended for Today's game
-
@Lulufulu I bet it happened in ok. Would coach take him?
-
You would think after the 1st or 2nd or even 3rd time being suspended for probably the same thing that you would get it. Apparently Greene can’t and that has to cause some doubt to where he will be in the off-season. How many chances with Self do you get before your shown the door regardless of talent
-
@BeddieKU23 I Sooo wanted him to get chances, crap, what does he work on in the off season?
-
yes today above all else was the perfect game for him to get starters minutes and show what he can do. Now we know that when the opportunity presents itself he goes and does something selfish. I love Brannen but what else can Self teach him.
-
Lets go Svi. This is your opportunity!!!
-
BG’s act of irresponsibility did not necessarily occur in Oklahoma. Self can’t afford to leave him home, unprotected. What the heck might he do, unsupervised? Brannen is a long ride from his Georgia roots. His world is a magnificent oyster, stuffed with who knows what.
-
@REHawk ha ha! Plus he would be w/Cliff. Bg’s family is in kc now.
-
Coach seemed to be very mad at Brannen in the post game interview.
-
Get off Brannen’s back. We don’t know what he did, but it does no good to beat a kid when he’s down. Good grief you are all mature adults. Quit beating a young man down that is growing up. Some young people just have a propensity to do stupid things. He is a great student and an even better bball player. Whatever he did Self obviously gave him a good scold. This game meant absolutely nothing and OU acted like they won the B12 title. I wanted them to win, but oh well. I didn’t care either way. We all got what we wanted, 11 straight titles. Let’s regroup, hope we get players back and prepare for the tourney.
Again, the B12 tourney doesn’t matter either. I would love for them to win, but not at the expensive of injury or getting completely worn out after a brutal B12 conference season.
-
@truehawk93 OK, Okay, I’ll get off Brannen’s back. And jump on yours. What makes you think that Brannen “is down?” Shucks, I was just describing him in the mischievous manner to which he appears best attuned. “This game meant absolutely nothing”? Baby, you might oughtta crawl back under your favorite rock. We’re discussing JAYHAWK BASKETBALL on this site!
-
@truehawk93 sorry, no disrespect to you, but have you played on a team before? Our team is beat up, we needed all hands today. What game doesn’t mean something? I watched the post game, the players were upset about losing. Not only did BG let his teammates down, he could have stepped up his own game. Self wouldn’t let him sit if it was trivial. I’m a forgiving person, but there are consequences for actions, we all have been there. Again sorry, just how I feel.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I’ve played team sports most of my life, basketball and baseball. I hate losing more than anyone. He paid the price for his “actions.” I said, they were likely stupid. But for grown adults to kick a kid in the gut is really unnecessary. We don’t play on the team. Maybe he needs a little “Code Red” by the rest of the players? Maybe Bill Self needs to kick his azz. I’m not defending him, but I will stand up to a bunch of arm chair fans that verbally beats up a young player who will learn his lessons and will likely be humbled some how, he’s a young man.
Let’s let Self and Co take care of this problem. Whatever happens, let’s support it.
-
@truehawk93 ok
-
-
@wrwlumpy post game coach said he had some things to take care of.
-
This is what his 3rd official time to the doghouse and he’s a sophomore. What are you missing about that. While most of the team has no problem doing what they need to do as teammates he’s yet again cost himself and his team more distraction. Greene had a chance to get major minutes today and we needed it because selden and graham couldn’t hit a bucket in the first half. Whatever has gotten himself in trouble definitely came at the worst time.
-
“Self say’s irresponsible.”
“Irresponsible” like Snack’s “irresponsible?”
Just curious… do any of these kids get drug tested? Anyone know?
-
@drgnslayr pretty sure they have to.
-
Yes, @drgnslayr And there a lot of easy ways to pass them. They amp up the testing around tourney time.
-
@drgnslayr I don’t think that’s what self was referring to. Is that what you think? I just know he said he needs to take care of things. I was thinking studies or parking tickets or ?
-
I haven’t a clue. I just know what college kids are like, and what they like to do.
I wonder how it goes a CU?
-
He is suppose to be an A student. Curfew is pretty serious.
-
@drgnslayr cu?
-
Colorado U, in Boulder… It was a drug haven even before Colorado legalized pot.
-
@drgnslayr if u would have said AT cu I would have got it!!! You bad!!!
-
My bad!
Me dad.
Been staying up all night with Baby G… she likes to sleep all day and party at night!
-
@drgnslayr like me!!! I would babysit I’m a good rocker!!
-
You are hired!
-
I remember in the tournament a few years ago, TV showed Self in the locker room talking to his players. He told one of them to go take a leak. Somebody explained later that the player had to go pee in a cup for drug testing. Not all players, just one randomly chosen by the officials. I think it was before each game, maybe just in the tournament. No idea if or how they get tested during the season.
-
@tundrahok just don’t ask Syracuse!
-
@tundrahok Here is what I remember from the 70’s as a track athlete. Maybe we gave a sample before the season, but I do remember fining a sample for the big 8 championships.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Too bad their vacated wins only go back to 2004. One more year and maybe we get another national championship!?!
-
@tundrahok I know!!
-
OK - I’m asking forgiveness ahead of time - I’ve been out of the loop for a few days and I haven’t seen or heard anything about the BG situation.
SO - WHAT exactly did he do ?
-
@nuleafjhawk Someone said BG was strutting around campus in a neon pink t-shirt displaying a centercourt photo of Tyshawn Taylor rockin’ the horizontal hump atop the Hawk.
-
He suggested to coach that they might want to go inside out a bit more.
