We did offer to match, money wasn’t the issue. Penn State is juuuust a little bit bigger program than Kansas
-
@FarmerJayhawk ah k. Thats too bad. Well I mean you cant be mad if we tried, right @kjayhawks
-
@approxinfinity yeah, an additional factor was the WR group HATED how he used them. Like at least two, maybe all three main guys would’ve transferred
-
@FarmerJayhawk as good of yr they had?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 yeah they didn’t like how much we ran it and threw to Mase so much
-
@FarmerJayhawk mase?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Ope, Mason Fairchild
-
Crazy. Receivers had a great yr!
-
@approxinfinity @FarmerJayhawk Well, I definitely feel better that we offered to match his salary but I don’t blame him. Believe he wants to be a head coach so the next logical step was to a major CFB program. I really really dislike our replacement hire at this point. I believe his win total is 3 vs FBS competition in the last 3 years. It goes back to the be careful what you wish for, for our receivers. I believe both Grimm and Arnold can play at the next level but being on a 2-10 team won’t help them get any looks.
-
@kjayhawks and Grimes wasn’t the first choice. That was Matt Lubick, who’s currently at Nevada and was an analyst for us the last couple years while he battled Leukemia. Nevada was willing to wait until after spring ball, we weren’t.
-
@FarmerJayhawk do you think he would have been a better OC? Nevada is 2-3
-
@approxinfinity I can say I like his scheme better. He was really the mastermind behind a lot of the motion and option stuff
-
There’s a solid chance Kotelnicki is back on the market if PSU doesn’t make the playoffs because that fan base is getting restless at Franklin not winning any big games for PSU.
-
The receivers prefer losing to playing for a solid OC? Sounds like KU football.
-
Wait and we are bitching about our OC ?-- - -well is the Okie St OC grimes twin brother ?
Okie St play calling is horrible/pathic/sad - – - Ollie Gordan looking like the Ollie Gordan against K /State defense , so what does the OC do - - EIGHT STRAIGHT pass plays and then OC calls TWO STRAIGHT QB DRAWS by old cement foot/ the sloth gaining a total of four yards --WITH GORDAN in the game -holy shit make use of your stud , you fricken idiots Yet we want Grimes head - -I think if I were OSU their OC would be gone - -conservative play calling , deep in KSU territory right after KSU scores and these idiots very manageable fourth down and they kick a fricken field goal.
Not saying I’m a Grimes fan by any means BUT just saying we are not the only one’s
-
@dylans yeah not like they all had bigger roles and NIL offered elsewhere because that would counter the narrative
-
@FarmerJayhawk You said the receivers had a hand in running off the OC. I pointed out that it does not seem to be working out so well for them with the new OC. What in the world are you talking about?
-
@dylans no, I didn’t say that at all. I know reading is difficult for you so I’ll put it in mostly one syllable words.
All of Grimm, Arnold, and Q had offers to make more dough and catch more balls from schools and they would have left had K not left for Penn State
-
@FarmerJayhawk Not sure this is valid or where you are hearing this. Doesn’t align with what I’ve heard, the stats this year vs last and what our eyes clearly tell us……
-
@kuballin10 I’m sorry but what you heard was wrong. The receivers were livid about their usage last year. Sure you can retcon and say how dumb they look now but that was 100% the case last December. Don’t just take my word for it, Swain and Jon Kirby reported the same. It was a horribly kept secret
-

Had K not left for Penn State. Implies they would not have stayed had he stayed. No? So how the fuck do they look this year without him? Ass. That’s how they look. So careful what you wish for asshats. But maybe my very obvious meaning was over your head? I agreed with you jerk.
-
@dylans yeah but that’s not what you said at all. The receivers had literally nothing to do with Andy leaving. He left because Penn State OC is his best path to becoming a head coach. Then you said I thought the WRs had a hand in running him off. Which is entirely false.
-
Alright glad we got that out of the way. Youre both right. Youre both wrong. 10 thousand points to everyone.
-
@FarmerJayhawk Are you on drugs? I know this isn’t your wheelhouse of economics (of which you’ve proven your bias induced ineptitude) but how do you go from saying the receivers wanted a new OC or they would leave for more money to they didn’t say that in two posts? Puff puff pass.
-
Nope. Thread locked.
