Unless he can block and catch for himself
-
Why would Chiefs hold Christmas party last night with players coaches and their spouses. This should have been today or earlier in the week.
No wonder they were not ready to play.
Hunt should return ticket money to fans, this is embarrassing, hate losing to Raiders.
-
@kjayhawks I feel like He could help!
-
Oh well.
Our QB makes more money than your QB
-
Jeez. Whatās up with the Chiefs this year. Crazy. They look like they have zero juice in em.
If I werenāt a Chiefs fan, Iād be wondering if Mahomes was in debt to a Vegas crime mob. Some of his multiple turnovers were outright questionable.
Eff da Raidas!
-
@rockchalkjayhawk mahomes was the only one trying the second half, got lit up a few times in doing so
-
@nuleafjhawk thatās why Bradyās records in super bowls will never be touched. Mahomes couldāve took a lesser contract and had offensive linemen/receivers. Oddly enough heās only like the 6th highest paid QB
-
Is Pacheco not strapping his helmet on?
-
@kjayhawks youāre preaching to the choir, my friend. Money is PMās true love now. His game will never be the same.
-
Veach does a lot of good, but heās waited a lot of cap space too. - 20mil per year on Taylor. Yikes. Thuney is a huge cap hit at GUARD! MVSā¦any money is wasted there. There was an opportunity to have Hopkins on this team (or just retain the most dynamic receiver in football!!!). Spent all his cap with no receivers. Just not the best move, I expect they will rectify it this offseason.
Mahomes had a huge cap hit and won the sb last year. Heās not the issue, heās the whole offense is the issue. - on days like today it shows in a bad way. Patrick had a bad day and the offense went from average to wretched.
-
Veatch took a gamble on WRs which has backfired.
Taylor is grossly overpaid, and I think a mistake was made to give him such a lucrative contract. Bad FA signing.
-
@AsadZ That Taylor signing is looking really bad. You hear his name every game. I want my linemen invisible outside of pancake blocks!
-
The Chiefs right now just have A LOT of issues, look at yesterdayās game. Just alone in the 1st qtr & just overall game , first three possessions - -minus 18 yards of offense -running backs getting stuffed at the line of scrimmage or losses - -Mahomes sacked twice, you have a false start , you have an offsides , you have 12 men on the field, you have an offensive PI on Kelce, you have another dropped pass from Kelce the Chiefs lead the league with like 27 dropped passes , thatās just lack of focus/concentration , Then you have a Mahomes fumble returned for a touchdown , then on the Chiefs vey next possessions Mahomes throws a pick 6- ā Mahomes is at a Career best of INTāS with 14 - -things are just a mess right now
-
Gabe Davis, Tee Higgins, Mike Evansā¦there are options in the offseason that I like. But for now the Chiefs are screwed if they canāt get any production out of MVS. Rice is doing well. I think Ritchie James could be a solid receiver now that heās healthy. The rest are suspect at best.
CEH may have the best hands on the team - get him on the field as an escape valve more often and teach Mahomes to take it instead of big play hunting. āļø I donāt know how to fix this mess this year.
-
Chiefs need to understand that they are not very good on offense this year so they need to go back to basics on how to move the chains.
No trick plays.
Raiders came to play very focused where Chiefs look lost, part of the blame goes to coaches.
-
@dylans Taylor is the worst tackle in the NFL IMO. I still stand behind me saying they needed to trade MVS and a few picks for Mike Evans who is in the last year of his contract with the Bucs.
-
Well, I was prepared to write the demise of the Chiefs is upon us. It still probably is, but then I looked back at their season schedule.
Are the Chiefs the same Chiefs who could cake walk to the Super Bowl? A resounding no.
But, theyāve been mostly competitive this year, despite their issues. I think they still have a chance to win any game.
They could make some noise in the playoffs with a little luck (and some output from their offensive players). So i have some faith left, but not a ton of confidence. So, thereās that. ha.
But iāll rant about the future anyway!
The prime time Chiefs donāt appear to exist at the moment. The future isnāt so bright. Weāll need the super deluxe car wash in the offseason.
This could be it, folks. Thereās lots to fix. But how long will it take to fix? And will a clearly frustrated Mahomes still want to stick around to wait? I know, seems impossibly unlikely for him to go, but who knows!
WR: Issue No. 1 for what seems like years now. Overhaul required. Unless a superstar or two join in the off-season, maybe not be a one year fix? how is it possible that they canāt get even a half yard separation at times??? iām not sure they are entirely to blame (more on that later).
TE: Something has sucked the life out of our top dawg. If heās not able to produce, we suffer to the max. Most of our eggs are in the Kelce basket. The above mentioned WRs canāt seem to help consistently. That leaves us in a hole with a clearly aging Travis. Dude is losing his sh*t more than Mahomes. Enough with the helmet tossing! Is it all his off field activity? Commercials, super star dating and jet setting? Or just that heās wearing down? Either way, big issues. NOT an easy fix if he is done cooking or retires. heās one of a kind.
QB: Mahomes is very clearly frustrated. Iām no expert on NFL financials, so not sure how possible it is he could want out and get out, but it seems at least a hint of a possible exit window exists. he doesnāt seem pleased with anything, or anybody at the moment. Hope he sticks around and doesnāt force his way out. his issues are coming to the forefront this season as well. Simple choices and mistakes seem to be his issue a lot. He cannot get on the same page with WRs. Is that his issue? Can he not throw a timing pattern? Does he need guys like Kelce who just run around til open to be successful? I dunno, but somethingās wrong. how can you not at least connect with a WR or two during the game? Makes no sense. Heās taking some blame this season, maybe more than a little. Massive to say that, i know. But the offense is under the spotlight, and heās part of it. NOT an easy fix if he leaves. heās one of a kind.
RB: I like our group, but compared with other teams, itās a weak link. Upgrade at the No. 1 spot required. This could be a quick and easy fix with the right draft selection. (not sure i have faith in our brain trust to pick a RB at this point).
O-LINE: seems to be a mess. Upgrades/reworking required. This could also be an easy fix with a good draft selection or via free agency.
Defense: No complaints at all. The star of the Chiefs this season. Keep it up. Replace/replenish as needed.
Coaching: Hmmm. Something seems off here as well. These WRs are professionals, who have had some degree of success here or elsewhere. Somethingās wrong if theyāre failing. Generally speaking with the offensive group, are the making the wrong play calls? Stupid play calls? Idiotic play calls? Iād like to see the stats on the gadget play success/fail rate. The Mahomes fumble for a defensive TD was appalling and seemingly unnecessary. Play calling and execution. Hard to say what the dynamic is between Reid and Nagy. EASY fix with new coaching.
Anyways, stupid Chiefs. Gotta win a game to make the playoffs, probably.
-
After last night Kansas receivers > Chiefs receivers. Arnold is more sure handed than any player currently in a chiefs uniform
-
Mecole on the mend. Sounds like heāll suit up this weekend.
Canāt hurt to have another WR body on the field.
-

Does that body come with hands?
-
Does he get hurt in the 1st quarter?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Toney might if he wasnāt already on IR.
Mecole has had 2 injuries that have limited his time in KC in 4.5 years. A mangled thumb and a horrible core injury that required surgery that he tried to return from too soon last year. Itās not like heās Hammy Watkins with constant soft tissue issues.
-
My main issue with Mecole is something he canāt help - his pick shouldāve been used on DK Metcalf. I was beside myself when they passed on that physical specimen. DK hasnāt disappointed either.
I wouldāve taken head case Pickens over Skyy Moore too, but that looks like it would be worse. Pickens is a talented fellow, but doesnāt appear to be near the good teammate that Skyy is.
The draft is such a crapshoot. Iād hate for my paycheck to depend on it. Now get to work Veach!
-
Good Offensive start! Nice play call!
-
The Chiefs will never win another game - ever.
-
D needs to step up
-
No pressure on qb
-
OL is weak.
-
Same movie on repeat
-
Mahomes turnovers the past 2 games have been killers.
-
Damn They canāt stop the QB
-
2 dropped passes and 1 turnover, but only one penalty. Sadly all 3 are improvement from the second half of the season.
-

Itās the same old story, same old song and dance, my friend
-
Offense needs to run solely thru Pacheco, he needs it every down til they stop him.
-
@kjayhawks no backup!
-
Why is it that 4 foot 1 Kyler Murray can throw passes to his fourth string receivers, yet Mahomes cannot connect?
-
Better line, more time
-
@rockchalkjayhawk better line, receivers that actually catch the ball.
-
Damn it I hate being right so often feed #10
-
Okay got one 3 and out

Ha. You were saying?
-
@rockchalkjayhawk yep like clock work unfortunately
-
@rockchalkjayhawk Fate comes a-knockinā, doors start lockinā Your old-time connection change your direction Aināt gonna change it, canāt rearrange it Canāt stand the pain when itās all the same to you, my friend
-
MVS
What BS
-
Hardman sighting yet?
-
@nuleafjhawk was waiting for you to put that on Mahomes somehow lol
-
@rockchalkjayhawk Iāve been telling everyone why all season. The two team āleadersā donāt care about football anymore. They care about money and notoriety. Football is just a paycheck now.
A big damn, obscenely large paycheck that would feed some 3rd world countries for decades.
-
@kjayhawks itās coming!
-
@nuleafjhawk youāre wrong!
-
What is the attendance today?
