KU Ladies tourney time

  • Hey guys I know it’s not the NCAA BUT our Ladies won their 2nd round NIT game tonight against hated MISSERY women. Showing once again Ladies - Men Missery can’t play with our people. - -KU beats Missery tonight 75 - - -47 - just kick the lady butts off the court.

KU now plays Nebraska in the third round at the Phog - - T Jackson broke her own record she set last year logging her - -96 block of the Season, AND her And Z Frankling both coming back for super Senior Season - Frankin scored 21 -way to kick some TIGER TAIL LADIES-- ROCK CHALK

  • Great win!

  • Awesome!

  • Nebraska won the 1st meeting in Lincoln in triple OT to hand KU their first loss on the season back in December. Time to get some payback.

  • Great job KU Women.

Very true , now we get that chance for pay back at our place

  • KU beat Nebraska by 9 tonight to move to the WNIT quarterfinals.

  • Still playing at home?

    Still playing at home?

Tonight was in AFH. The quarterfinal game is TBD. KU will play the winner of Arkansas/Texas Tech who play tomorrow night in Lubbock.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 Hopefully it’s Arkansas. We owe them one after taking out football and basketball.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 I knew tonight.

  • Well we Beat Mizzery, - -Tonight we beat Nebraska. - Really glad probably the two best players Frankling and Jackson BOTH coming back next year too. - Jackson a beast last I knew she had broke her own record for blocks in a Season with 96 – the human eraser lol- -6’6 Center really good- - Frankling our guard pretty dam good too… KU got some decent players

  • Rely on starters tho, no bench, same as Men’s team

no your wwrong , they have some really good bench pieces

  • The ladies will be playing Sunday after noon against apparently our nemesis in sports Arkansas. FB lost the bowl game by one point and obviously the MCB lost by a point last weekend. Can the women buck the trend here?

Football lost by 2 points. Next logical step is the game goes on for so long they have to declare it a tie.

They pretty much only go 6 deep. The team averages 73 ppg and the starters account for 63 ppg. Their bench doesn’t provide much.

  • @jayballer67 Check out stats of bench players

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 yep lost by 2 in Football either way hoping the ladies have a little better outcome

eh I don’t necessarily agre about all that. I still think their bench is adequate - I’ve watched everyone of their games and haven’t been disappointed in their play

people get all wrapped up in these dam stats. - There is ALOT of different phases to a game other then just scoring. - -Again I’ve seen enough of the bench players to know they are fine - They are not like the men’s feeble bench

This was a team that was expected to finish top half of the Big 12 and make the NCAA Tournament with a fairly high seed. The lack of a bench was a big part in the failure to meet those expectations and why they’re in the WNIT instead.

not going to arg–their bench is very doable. - -Chatzileonti -Avg 26.6 pg game 5.9 rpg- Mayberry part time starter - -part time bench - -pretty dam good. Strom decent. A big reason also was when Kirksgeiter went down and missed time-some other like always was poor Coaching- I for one am very happy with how the bench has helped - -they gonna be fine

Chatzileonti hasn’t played since mid-January. Mayberry has started 28 games, and became a starter in game 3 and started until she got hurt against TCU in the Big 12 tournament. She was not a part time starter. Holly Kersgeiter missed 3 games in February due to injury. Strom was the only bench player playing good minutes this season once Chatzileonti got injured amd she has averaged 2.7 ppg this year. That’s terrible for being the only bench player playing real minutes (17 mpg).

In KU’s last 15 games, they’ve got double digit points from the bench four times. They also had four games where they got 0 points from the bench. 5.5 ppg from the bench isn’t good no matter what you think and that’s what KU has gotten from their bench in the last 15 games. Lack of a bench is why the ladies are in the WNIT instead of the NCAA Tournament and why they couldn’t beat 1 win TCU in the Big 12 tournament.

  • This is an argument worth having. Can we repeat everything another time, please? 🙄

  • Gotta be right

boy that’s the truth lol. - -I hear ya

  • Our Ladies doing really well up 38-19 at the half

  • The ladies headed to the final four Beating Arkansas

  • The ladies beat Arkansas 78-64 – kinda rough 2nd half but got it done. - -Jackson with three more blocks – 22 points amd 11 rebounds . - -Holly Kirksgeiter with 25 led the way. - will play either Washington or Oregon in the final 4- -WOO - - HOO - - WE BEAT ARKANSAS

  • Great job by KU Women.

  • Where’s the final 4?

  • AFH

  • @Crimsonorblue22 said in KU Ladies tourney time:

    Where’s the final 4?

I just checked. typed in info asking for information on womens WNIT. - -It said Semi-Finals March - - 28-29 in Las Vegas. - -Will be able to watch of CBS.Com but must have cable provide or satellite

Went to KU Athleteics , and it said information about the KU match up would come out later tonight

  • Great win for the ladies, obviously wanted them to get a second straight NCAA bid but this with hopefully pay dividends for the program getting more practice for the younger ladies. Kinda the same thought process for the younger guys on the football team getting an extra month to practice.

  • Not to change the subject yet why haven’t we played in the men’s preseason NIT in so long?

  • @kjayhawks Is there a tournament called that anymore? The island where were last year, Orlando, and Maui have become the biggies in the fall rotation.

  • @wissox for sure Maui and the battle for Atlantis seem to be the big ones. The NIT is still there just don’t believe we have played in it since Roy was here.

  • @kjayhawks We won it in 2018. But the format is different now, with only 4 teams going to NY this year. They are considered reg season games, and we already do the Champions thing. Baylor is supposed to be in it this November, I think. Called the Tip Off Classic or something.

  • @mayjay I forgot about 2018 apparently
