Is a " W " a " W " - Cuz that felt a lot like an " L " ?

I’m as unenthused as I ever remember being about KU Basketball. I’m seriously blaming it on Self. In 18 years, he’s always worn a suit on the sidelines on game day. He looked like a professional coach. Now he looks like my next door neighbor’s uncle coaching the YMCA kids.

This team needed something to get some mojo back even if it was ugly. They were acting like a bunch of kicked puppies. Maybe this will get them going
-
They needed something good to happen. Some guys are still slumping pretty bad, but we at least found some guys who will really hustle. And Harris definitely earned some more PT.
-
Can we move the dang cardboard cutouts up, and the fans down, closer to the court? At least they are masked, more than the guys on the ct. think Dixon spewing! They still have the bleachers pushed in. I can hardly hear the fans at home.

I haven’t seen any coach wearing a suit this year on the sidelines so I’m guessing that has something to do with the NCAA. Every game I’ve watched has coaches wearing quarter zip pullovers this year so I seriously doubt that’s coincidence.

BINGO

Doubt it because of social distancing restrictions. A lot of the fans in the stands are higher dollar donors and their family and friends. Not many regular fans in the building so it’s definitely more of a wine and cheese crowd right now among the 2500.

Anybody hear anything from long lately? Seems kinda weird.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 You know - the suit thing was a little bit tongue in cheek, but I also believe there’s some truth to it. Back in the day there was a saying “Dress for Success”. People pay attention to sharp dressed people. Especially those in authority.
Tell Billy Boy ( I would have called him Mr Self had he been wearing a suit) to dress up tomorrow. We win by 20.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 And there is absolutely no reason why they should not still be wearing them - they are on TV, afterall. Sorry, but the sweats look sloppy and unprofessional. Coaches represent their respective universities, my hope is that semblance of decorum might soon return.

Never commented on how it appeared, just the why. And because every coach is wearing quarter zip pullovers this year, I’m assuming there was a statement or mandate from the NCAA on gameday dress this year.
-
They got it from the nba. Covid year.
-
Huggy said he started it. I think it’s fine. Those are some pretty nice “sweats” there!
-
I always thought a suit on a sweaty guy in a gym looked out of place. Waste of money for dry cleaning. I prefer the new look for coaches.
-
Agree
-
@tundrahok I think sweats are fine - for K-State.

Yeah, we need to continue to be lax and unprofessional in this nation, it working so well so far
