Dam Josh , what are you doing man
-
“Everyone makes mistakes.” If I read that sorry line one more time I’m going to puke. What Josh jackson did is not a mistake. It’s an incredibly stupid action that got him arrested and then made it worse by fleeing police. When i make mistakes, and trust me it’s daily, it’s locking the keys in the car, or forgetting my wallet, or accidentally calling my neighbor the wrong name, or calling a timeout when our team doesn’t have one left, or getting a speeding ticket. A mistake isn’t criminal. Criminal activity isn’t a mistake, it’s committing a crime, which most of us have enough sense to avoid because we know the cost to our own lives, families, careers, etc. Quit calling criminals mistake makers!

@wissox AMEN Brother! Call a sin a sin, not a “bad choice”.
-
-
@wissox I don’t really think of Josh as a criminal. I think of him as an arrogant dumbass. Probably a little lost at this point. I don’t consider him a bad person because of this, but I don’t consider him a good one either. He’s going the wrong way at the moment and I hope he gets it together. Maybe the league isnt for him.
Also let’s not conflate trying to get into a VIP party with a sin. That’s a little silly. Thou shall not be a drunken dumbass and run from cops?
Legality isn’t morality.
-
He has a drinking problem. He does stupid shit when he’s drunk. If he continues to drink excessively, then he will do something that will hurt himself or others. I just want the young man to turn to better solutions because he has a spectacular future ahead if he can make the right decisions.
-
@KUSTEVE he does?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 It’s either alcohol or drugs. When you threaten someone, and then tear their car up when you’re drunk, that’s a problem. When you run from the cops after being detained, that’s a problem. Do you think he was sober acting that way?

I still fondly remember Josh as my second favorite OAD. And its close, because Embiid got hurt and Josh was a beast down the stretch.
-
@approxinfinity third behind McLemore for me. Ben and Embiid didn’t want to leave either, so that’s another feather in their cap.
The thing that probably rubbed me the worst was Josh saying he could’ve been better but Bill played him out of position all year. Really putting Jackson at the 4 hid his flaws as it turns out.

There are ALOT of really good athletes that we can be fond of - that don’t keep making as you said Dum Ass mistakes - like Steve said the kid is either one of two things which is - - he either has gotten himself a drinking problem or someone has introduced him into drugs - -OR BOTH.
This whole thing here is a probable Scenario of where he went in - - couldn’t get into this VIP room and then things went South as - -hey I’m Josh Jackson - you don’t know me? - I play professional ball I know you know me - that’s where the drugs and drinking distorts the thinking. - He better get a reality check and get one real quick.
Or like has been said he gonna end up hurting some one or he is gonna get hurt himself
-
@approxinfinity I agree, Josh gave us some good moments as a OAD. I have higher regard for him than most of our OAD’s. Quibble whether he’s criminal or not, I think my point still holds true. Most of us when we make a mistake don’t end up in a police report because of it.
-
@wissox well sometimes… it’s a small town. They publish speeding tickets too.
-
@dylans yes, I’m a lead 🦶

-
The charge seems pretty weak. What a mess.
-
@approxinfinity These are symptoms of a bigger problem. I hope he hasn’t passed that line, and if he has, that he gets help.
-
@KUSTEVE so what happened to you in the heat?

In a culture that glorifies and tolerates out of wedlock births as the norm – noting how many of our players of, shall I say, similar backgrounds, have kids out of wedlock, or who have no fathers anywhere near them – no surprise.

@Crimsonorblue22 I’ve been walking three or four times a week, and I went on my regular walk this morning, and I started really struggling in the middle of it. Got overheated, and came home, and my heart was just pounding out of my chest. It was about 90 degrees outside, so with the humidity, it was probably around 100 degrees actual. I ended up taking a nitro, and pulled out a box fan from the closet, drank a ton of water, and tried to cool down. It took a good two hours to feel normal again. No more walking after 9am, or before 8pm for me. It scared me enough that I’m going to scale back a bit… I’m still going to walk, but I’m going to shorten the walks to adjust for the high heat.
I should also add that I had been walking further and further over the past few months, and I have been walking 6 miles a week ( 2 miles every walk). That’s just too far. I’m scaling it back until it gets cool again ( end of October or November in Florida…lol).
-
@HighEliteMajor I’m worried about him specifically. When you start seeing one incident piling up after another, that’s a real big sign of a substance abuse problem. I always felt like JJ played mad, and it makes me wonder if he doesn’t have some emotional issues that are playing out with the drugs and the alcohol.

Josh was just traded to the Grizzlies. Hopefully a fresh start will be good for him.
-
@Woodrow Memphis. He’ll get playing time, that’s for sure.
-
Josh got called up today. He averaged 20 , 8, and 4 while in the G League.

Doubly good news: A reason he was called up is that Tripper Allen is injured!
-
@mayjay I did see Grayson was injured. Not sure if that’s why or not!
