2020 Recruiting

  • Well from my expertise eyes lol, 1st impressions , could we possibly be able to bag a sleeper?

Watching looks like he is pretty complete player. Ya itā€™s a high-lite reel but still canā€™t hide the talent.

Ew - - he got range - -he does have range , pretty smooth - - - - good handles - - - - - Likes to go to the rim also - - - -finishes when it presents itā€™self - - -really nice size for the position - - - -and looks fairly quick , not exceptional but good enough.

Like has been said we could for sure offer donā€™t think it would be a waste - and again the position that it looks like we are in now and for awhile - - ya we need to offer.

Even with this Juco though even kids like this want that opportunity to play in the National title game - -or at least the possibility So with him only having two years to do so - - would he come with the possibility of a ban next season? - - - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Bill Self is a great evaluator of talent and is going back to WORK because he has to dig. Like I said before Iā€™m oddly excited by this.

  • @BShark you are odd!šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

  • @BShark

Not a bad thing to have to really dig down and evaluate talent. This latest kid is a good example and he comes from a high level juco program

This kid and Muscadin would be A+ additions given the circumstances.

  • @rockchalkwyo looks like a young paul pierce to me.

Here are his stats. Doesnā€™t look like his ppg is that high until you scroll down and see he averaged a little over 7 mpg with a points per 40 minutes is 43. As long as Iā€™m reading that correctly

  • Self: ā€œTo be honest with you, Iā€™ve been concerned about recruiting challenges happening for the last 27 years Iā€™ve been a head coach. Every place has its own challenges. Now this gives us some unique challenges that also we can somehow look at them as opportunities, too. Sure, thatā€™s always going to be an issue. But in the past, when youā€™ve gone against Kentucky and Carolina and Duke and Michigan State or UCLA or whoever to get the players youā€™re recruiting, theyā€™re all challenges. Certainly weā€™ve got our hands full with this, but weā€™ll end up, I think, having a very good recruiting class.ā€

  • @rockchalkwyo I wonder if he was injured? 5 starts at the juco level and worth a scholarship offer? Yikes

  • @dylans ISU poking around too. From what I can tell he can hoop, but he canā€™t shoot. Perfect for Bill.

  • @BShark Garrett 2.0?

lol, who canā€™t shoot ? - -the video I was watching looked lie he was doing a pretty decent job to me - -and Iā€™m referring to his J - -not layups or flushes = = =He by far is No Marcus G. - - this kid got some range , and at times looked like even deep range -and they were looking pretty smooth/pure - -not like a prayer where you fire up as missile and it clangs around off the rim 5-6 tomes bounces up 3 ft and falls back through - - I didnā€™t see any prayers in his shot- I think he would be a nice addition if we could land him. - - ROCK CHALK ALLD AY LONG BABY

Hmm sounds like the word is out

  • If we land a recruit in this crapola thatā€™s like winning the lottery

Oh Dam - - surely not ā€“ could we POSSIBLY be in the hunt for a recruit anyways with all this? - - - -He would be a decent land considering everything going on - -good 3-4 year player - -hopefully we can work with develop - -he has some game - -but can for sure get better - -letā€™s hope maybe he might land. - -ROCK CHALK ALLD AY LONG BABU

that would be fun - - - -never have won any kind of lottery - -no seriously my friend, I hear you 100 % - -but at least might be some hope. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • With Gethro visiting here what? - - last weekend? - - -and now we getting CB picks from BOTH Slater & Meyer - -you might be right something might have leaked.

    Has offers from Wichita St - - -TCU - - Tulsa - - Tex A & m - - -SMU - - - St Louis - - Rutgers - - -Texas Tech - - -Houston - - -Col St - - -VCU - - -UNLV - - -New Mexico - - -Memphis - - -Conn- - -& Louisiana Tech - - All Schools that offered - -we shall see

  • Iā€™d take Muscadin in a second. Athletic.

Definitely a project but some skills to work with. The new age big man that can stretch it.

  • Adam Miller released his final 6.

KU on the list probably out of respect for Howardā€¦ Canā€™t think of any other reason. @wissox is that right?

    Should be Illinois bound

Itā€™s definitely looking like hes Illinois bound

  • @BeddieKU23 My people tell me heā€™s going to Zona, sorry to say. But his mom doesnā€™t work with me anymore so sheā€™s not the source.

  • For what itā€™s worth, the Badgers have picked up 4 4 star players in the last two weeks. Thatā€™s quite a haul for them. Two are 2020 recruits and two are 2o21 recruits.

  • @wissox šŸ§‚ in a wound. Thanks!

  • Dylan Prezkop (no clue who he is) put his CB pick for Gethro to KU this morning. Thats 4 now. Is he coming for Late Night?

  • @dylans Iā€™m recruiting Bucketeers to attain to duel fanship!

  • @wissox no

  • rockchalkwyo said:

Unlikely. He already took an official visit to KU that went great. So if he comes to late night it would be unofficial, heā€™d have to pay.

@wissox Now we have to hope Kentucky doesnā€™t want any of them.

  • wissox said:

I believe Stugotz said,ā€Wisconsin exists to be 4th in the poll and win nothing!ā€

Iā€™ve got enough heartache. KU wins one every 20 years, the Royals every 40, the Chiefs every 50. Thatā€™s a lot of waiting already.

  • @BShark , @FarmerJayhawk , Scott Chasen wrote an article about Gethro on 247, but itā€™s VIP. Can either of you tell us what itā€™s about? Please and thank you

  • @rockchalkwyo Just a puff piece. He will decide soon though.

  • @dylans 4th in the poll and win nothing summarizes it well! Of course referees made sure thereā€™d be no championship in 2015.

@Crimsonorblue22 I knew youā€™d decline the dual fanship thing!

  • I cant wait for the season to start. Anyone else excited??

  • BeddieKU23 said:

Definitely. Might have to mute some TV broadcasts but Iā€™m ready to watch KU.

I actually already have ESPN+ due to college football season so Iā€™m ready to go on that too.

  • @wissox šŸ¤£šŸ„°

  • @BShark sooo, this might be a dumb question, but, do you think some of our espn+ bb games will be changed to nationally broadcasted games? Iā€™m surprised how few of our fb games, so far, have been on espn+.

  • ESPN must be paying a bunch to get 10 of the KU b-ball games as an exclusive broadcast on ESPN+. They really want ESPN+ to work so they can skip the big cable/satellite companies and just get straight into our wallets. I wish it was just another platform instead of the forced platform.

  • 5* Isaiah Todd is visiting this weekend

Alright alright alright! Even though Iā€™m pretty sure we donā€™t have a shot and heā€™s going overseas, heā€™s so perfect for next yearā€™s squad that I canā€™t quit it

I would be pretty amazing to drop the bag required to get him while under the scrutiny of the NCAA.

  • Read this morning that Fisher off 247 put in his pick ( CB ) - to KU for Gerthro Muscadin last Night - - still giving 100% of the predictions - I mean there have been only 5 CBā€™S but all have been for us - -so good thing I guess.

These for the most part I think are going to be the types we get for a bit - -not necessarily a bad thing , developmental player 4 yr player but with this dam NCAA thing going on -he just might develop into a solid 4 year kid that can help us in a couple of years - -think he needs to hit the weight room though pretty lean - -I think said 6ā€™10 & 215 - - -sounds like an old Rick Suttle type of frame - - - you all remember him? - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer73 I just read an article off of Rivals, and Cory Evans still thinks he will land at Texas Tech (which heā€™ll visit this weekend). I remember last year though, Mr. Corey Evans was wrong on almost everything pertaining to KU (Hurt, Stanley, Precious, and I want to say one more).

Good Point. Corey swings and misses a ton in regards to KU recruiting

ya , I hear what your saying - -who knows for sure , itā€™s one big crap shoot. -Thing is though seems like for the most part or so it seems - - just like with this kid - - - Jerry Meyer and Andrew Slater have both thrown CB"S for KU - -Meyer is usually pretty spot on - -then this Morning although not as much as Meyer and Slater - - Fisher threw in to KU also. - The real tale tale to me is what Evan Daniels says - -I like him a lot he usually pretty accurate - havenā€™t seen him make any prediction

Like I said when your dealing with 17-18 yr olds - -who the hell knows lol. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Almost like Corey doesnā€™t know anything. There is a reason Slater mocks him and zags. Slater is one of the ku oicks for Muscadin so I feel pretty good about it.

  • Bit from Bossi on Thompson, ā€œ Thompson is planning to be at Kansas this weekend and the Jayhawks had looked to be emerging as a pretty clear leader. However, heā€™ll have to ask some tough questions about the Jayhawksā€™ status with the NCAA. If not Kansas, his in-state finalists could be in best position to capitalize.ā€œ
