Great guy! Easy to cheer for! Love the Rock Chalk Jayhawk! Fans everywhere.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Good luck to Gary. Hope he can keep it together on Sunday.
Always enjoy watching golf at Pebble Beach. Got to view the 18th hole in person years ago on a drive down the coast. Pulled my car off the road, walked up to a spot behind the green, and took a few pix.
Sucks that I’ll miss seeing the final round live though…I’ve got inventory at work! Aaarrrgh!

Go Gary! Keep fighting!
-
Big putt coming on 14 right now.
-
Gary’s been close before in the majors. Great to see this unfolding. Someone just chanted the RockChalk!
-
-
He finishes in style!
-
Helluva putt to win it!
-
YAHTSEE!!! "

My .50 cent bet has now turned into a major windfall of $9.25 in winnings. Thank you, Gary!
-
wow! So special, not a dang loser, he’s a winner now! Pretty special on Father’s Day for him. Not many a man better than him. Rock Chalk Gary Woodland! Winner!
-
My heart wanted Gary to win, my head said Brooks was going to win given each man’s reputation in majors. Glad my heart won and Brooks is human in majors.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 Brooks was looking like he was going to take charge early on, but unlike past majors, he lost his momentum.
-
@wissox When Brooks tied it at -11, that’s when I really thought he was going to win it.
-
Best part of Gary’s win was hearing the Rock Chalk chant as Gary was walking up the 18th fairway.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I missed about 5 or 6 holes in the middle. I didn’t realize that Brooks had tied it up. He’s an amazing talent. But so is Gary.

Hell yeah

YEAH GARY! ROCK CHALK CHAMPION!
Just got home from work and saw the highlights. Can’t wait to watch the final round replay.
I gotta admit, I wasn’t sure that his short game would hold up through four rounds. Glad I was wrong. Way to go Gary!
-
I thought he just got to within 1 shot
-
Rose tied him up?

Won by 3 strokes over Koepka. Rose fell apart.

Yep

Read last 2 paragraphs, I watched the whole thing

Okay, time for a not-so-humble brag…For what it’s worth, I believe I was the first to post about Gary on this board.
From October 2013: "Former KU golfer Gary Woodland lost in a playoff today at the PGA tournament in Malaysia. He’s really stepped up his game lately, with a win, a second-place and a third-place finish in the past few months.
The guy hits the ball a ton and usually leads the tour in driving distance. He needs to work on his short game, though…missed a 10-footer Sunday that would’ve given him the win outright. Still, $750K for second place ain’t chump change!"

@BShark Justin Rose was the only one who caught Woodland all day, with a birdie on the opening hole. Rose bogeyed from the bunker on No. 2 as Woodland birdied, and he never caught up. Rose fell out of the race with three bogeys in a four-hole
