Kyree Walker

  • May I have me some Kyree Walker please - - - Please. - -Kid is crazy. Does anyone know if he has decided or not for sure if he is going to re-classify? - Man I hope so.

Dude is gonna bust some ankles - -leave some jock straps with a lot of his moves. Had heard he had some issues with his J - can for sure take it to the hole - -and Nasty finish. - -Like he said when he goes to the hole , only time he doesn’t take it down is when he is tired of doing it.

To me has very solid medium range - -some 3 game too. - -Thing is - -the kid has some edge - -brings some attitude. I don’t see a THING WRONG with that - -You got game and you know you got game - then you can have that edge - back it up

To many time I have seen alot of our bigs or other guys have easy slams and they want to lay it off the backboard - -tired of that - - you have the chance man take that home let them know - -it’s YOUR time - love this kid’s edge.

YES I would like very badly - kid is a Stud. - -247 looks like Arkansas – Memphis and KU are the Main players showing as warm- -hope he re-classifies. - might be a little under rated - -we shall see - -but I’ll take me some Kyree. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • We’ll take the first of him or Tucker. Staff is selling starting at the 3. Everyone loves Ochai, but we need shooting and athleticism no matter where they play.

    @FarmerJayhawk Agree.

Is the staff selling the 3 spot to Walker and Hampton? I thought they’d both want to play on the ball.

From what I can tell they are selling Walker on BIG PG. Who will play with a more classic PG on the court at the same time. All they have to do his show him Marcus Garrett KU tape and say this is the role.

  • @BShark Raises the question of who would be playing the two. Didn’t think Ochai had the handles yet.

  • Dotson 🤞

With RJ at the point. 👀

  • Again asking. - -Has Kyree made his decision for sure to re-classify? - -Man after watching his 25 minute yesterday - I for sure want me some Kyree. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

Officially no but it certainly feels like a forgone conclusion that he will

I would be stunned if Walker and RJ didn’t both reclass.

KU is in a great spot here.

  • Kyree Walker will turn 19 this year, so if he reclassifies, it won’t be a surprise (birthday is in November). RJ Hampton turned 18 in February, so he would turn 19 midway through his freshman year. Also would not be a surprise to reclassify.

I think both of these guys reclassify because they would both be 19 by next year’s draft, making them both draft eligible. If they don’t reclassify, they wouldn’t be draft eligible until 2021. I agree with @BShark and others - I would be surprised if both did not reclassify.

  • In order that I want the guards: Tucker, RJ, Walker. Any one of them would be a great get, and just adding one would make KU’s backcourt pretty legit (assuming Dotson returns). Landing a guard and a power forward and I think KU competes with anyone next season.

That would be an insane back court.

  • For all our recruiting misses so far we’re certainly still in it for the best remaining. Hampton and Walker could have easily been Duke/UK locks at any point if they had made decisions earlier about their futures.

  • @BShark

I agree they are both playing it coy for the media right now but I’m sure behind the scenes KU’s staff knows they are going to do this. If they weren’t I don’t think we’d see them as a priority right now especially if they don’t plan to make it official until summer hits. Missing on both would be a colossal failure. I’m coming around to thinking at least 1 of the 2 will be in Lawrence next year. Huge if we get both, absolutely huge

YA me too. Just have to think and hope between the two we land one of them. – I am thinking maybe Kyree even though I would love to be wrong with RJ - -yet isn’t Kyree a much better outside shooter - -seem him yesterday looks like he has all ranges - -just curious - -can’t lose with either. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • Kyree saying he really like Coach Self’s Pitch - -that sounds nice to me. - – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @KirkIsMyHinrich we still need Doke to make it through a season to compete with anyone. If we only get a PF and SDS isn’t eligible, we are still a bit thin in the frontcourt. I’m guessing we end the season with PF transfer + Dave starting and Mitch first big off bench.

Brutal, but he has been hurt every year soooo not unfair.

Doke’s injuries have been kind of flukey. Freshman year, his wrist got caught in the net. Sophomore year, got rolled up on. Junior, appeared to be a jam but obviously wasn’t. I don’t think he’s fragile, just super unlucky.

  • @FarmerJayhawk caught in net or was it a jersey? Fluke either way.

  • dylans said:

Yeah, I don’t remember for sure. I just remember hearing about it and being like wtf I’ve never heard of that happening before ever ever.

  • Jersey

  • I tell you his wrists are bad from dunking so hard, all that wt hanging on the rims. Doke surgery.

Needs to finesse dunks hmm. 😂

  • @BShark I’m serious

  • When Zion has the surgery, they will say he had the udunka surgery!

  • @Crimsonorblue22 Zion is more likely to need the Nike surgery for when he detonates another shoe!

Wonder if ESPN will show the surgery live on all its networks?

    lol, so good.

Ok, well I hope you’re right obviously. Let’s not bank on having him.

Oh yeah, I agree. I’m very happy Dave is around. He’s as good a backup as we could ask for. Also why we need bodies in general. By my count we have 4 scholarships open: Losses: Cunliffe, Vick, Moore, Lawson, Lawson, Grimes Gains: McBride, Braun

I don’t feel that good about going into the season with 9 dudes.

  • Crimsonorblue22 said:

I believe you but I just don’t think there is a good answer. Dunking is how he scores.

  • @BShark he doesn’t need to hang forever, that’s what I mean, save the wrists!

  • @BShark how about you go on shark tank, invent some wrist pads for him, not just regular pads, udunka wrist pads.

  • @Crimsonorblue22 It’d be easier to electrify the rim on a 1/2 second delay. Dunks good! Hanging on rim bad! 😝

  • @FarmerJayhawk - didn’t the Jayhawks carry an open scholarship this year? That would make it 5 available?

  • Plus the murky scholarships Dotson (coming back), DeSousa (not looking good for a return).

You’re right. I included Cunliffe as a loss to start us at a base of 13.

@dylans for sure. Those remain to be seen. We can make up for the loss of one but I really don’t want to think of how we’d put almost an entirely new roster together in a summer.

Whether we start the season with more we always seem to end up with 8 or 9
