NIKE in Trouble??

  • Michael Avenatti (@MichaelAvenatti) 3/25/19, 11:16 AM Tmrw at 11 am ET, we will be holding a press conference to disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by ⁦‪@Nike‬⁩ that we have uncovered. This criminal conduct reaches the highest levels of Nike and involves some of the biggest names in college basketball.

  • Yes please.

  • And also lol

  • just a thought, but committing extortion isn’t a good idea

  • This is a shit show, and has already been arrested today. However, I am 100% certain that he does have some dirt on Nike. Question is will that information still get leaked?

  • So the feds step in, charge the lawyer, before info gets released on Nike. Hmmm.

Where does your mind wander with this one?

A case of the FBI not wanting him to steal their thunder?

Could be. If it’s legit the Feds could cut a deal.

  • I really think this is just a cash deficient “rich” guy who was looking for easy money. I doubt this goes anywhere. But, then again, this whole thing started with one guy doing something stupid.

Let’s hope there’s something real here and it’s not just a desperate con man with a terrible plan.

  • @BeddieKU23 My first thought was it was done to control the release of info on Nike. Purposefully. More to limit the release. But that’s wildly speculative.

One man’s extortion, though, is another man’s negotiation. Lots of confidentiality agreements paid for by folks wanting to stem the flow of info.

  • The more info I find, the more this guy just seems like an older Billy McFarland with a Law Degree.

  • The program is Cal Supreme per ESPN. Alums include Ayton (yeah, I’m still pissed about that one), Melton from SC, Aaron Holliday, Shareef O’Neal, and Bol Bol.

  • Please let this be true lets get UNC, Dook and UK!!!

  • From what I just read on the matter per ESPN, it just sounds like they are pushing for Arizona to be the fall guy a little more.

  • oh boy. Avenatti has two twitter posts today.

One talking about DeAndre Ayton cash payments to his mother and others.

Another talking about Bol Bol receiving cash from Nike

Both guys were KU targets. So is Adidas cheap or clean? I’m betting on cheap.

Yea this could just as easily blow up in our faces. I’m more worried about that than happy this info came out at all.

We never were a serious threat for Bol.

Ayton was a different story. Gassnola was involved there on KU’s behalf.
