With the emergence of Mikal Bridges I’m expecting a Josh Jackson trade.

@approxinfinity That would beneficial for him I think. Sometimes players are just not good fits in certain organizations. I am not ready to throw the towel in yet on his career, but he needs a fresh start and to hit the reboot button.
I also saw a video I believe from Saturday nights game where got into a little argument with PJ Tucker. Just a toxic organization and hopefully he does get traded.

@Woodrow I always thought Tucker was a true professional. You would think with his longevity.
I have a serious question. How hard is it to fix a jumpshot? Does it get harder at a certain age? This is year two of his rookie contract. It seems like he needs to fix this ASAP and get traded to a team where he can prove himself next year. After that, it gets much harder.

@approxinfinity we are seeing the same thing with Fultz. If I remember right Josh had 14 points in the first game this season on 6-13 shooting or something close to that. Everyone was talking about how much he had worked on his game and how much his shot improved this past offseason. Not sure what is going on with him.
He can still right his game, but at some point you are what you are. I hope he gets it corrected. More than anything he just needs some minutes and reps IMO.

@Woodrow I’m not sure JJ’s form was ever good this year. In Fultz’ case, he went from being 40% three point shooter (I think) in college to a guy who can’t duplicate the same form twice. Really bizarre. In JJ’s case his form may have regressed back after some improvement (?) But it seems to have regressed to his consistent old form.
It does beg the question why JJ’s form wasnt fixed much earlier. It seems like a lot of people bank on fixing form later. Maybe a false assumption that this is always possible.
There are outliers. Mo Bamba changed his form dramatically between college and NBA . I haven’t watched Orlando to know if it stuck.
This also makes me wonder whether JoJo benefited from playing so little bball before going to Kansas because he didn’t have enough ingrained bad habits to undermine his ability to learn. What if JJ played only 3 years of bball before Kansas? What would his form look like now?

Jackson’s comments at the combine about Bill playing him out of position all year, may not be accurate. He can’t shoot well enough to be a 3. It kind of irked me at the time; I wonder if his attitude has improved any?

Lol a trade would be generous to how bad he’s been. My only hope is he goes somewhere like Philly or Boston where they’ll give him the time needed to fix himself.

I wonder what the results would be if the coaches told Udoka to do granny shots, instead of this weak, bizarre soft touch + sideways shooting form. Is granny shooting FTs death from a PR perspective?

I cant see Josh having much trade value, or will be someone a team covets. He can’t shoot in this league

I’m of the opinion that you can either shoot or you can’t. Yes, you can make improvements, but you probably are only going to improve so much.
I’ll bet Pistol Pete Maravich shot just as well at 4 as he did at 12 as he did at 19… it was a God given talent. I think if you’re a poor shooter in Jr High (hey, i’m old - that’s what we called it) you’re probably going to be a poor shooter in High School and College if you make it that far.
Doke proves my theory (to me). Not a jump shot, but the same idea.
