Good Luck part 6 - Oklahoma State Cowboys - Saturday - 3pm - ESPN or ESPN2 oops.
-
I didn’t want to be a 1 seed anyway. I wanted to be the underdog…
-
With nothing to play for, Kansas sent a group of imposters to Stillwater. They did not look good.
Now the question is: who will show up in Kansas City?
-
Did everyone know that former KU transfer to Louisville Dave Padgett got the interim job at coupe’d’ville?
Man, are they trying to keep the bodies buried or what?
-
@jaybate-1.0 Yes.

With our luck we will draw St Marys in our 2nd NCAAT game. That would be a blood bath and not in our favor.
-
Is Bucknell in the tourney this year?
-
Back to Silvio though, he’s going to be really good before it’s all said and done.
-
On any give day, when there is nothing at stake, any team can beat any team in the modern era.
-
Padgett looks younger than when he played at KU.
-
Should we claim Padgett as a KU guy?
I just don’t know.

Not for certain. They have to win their conference tournament which is in progress. Which is stupid. They won their league in the regular season by 4 games. That should be the criteria for making the NCAAT but tying it to the conference tournament generates more revenue. Money talks…

Tough call.
-
Just got back from run…well, that was fun.
Good job Bill Self and the guys played great.
Do us all a fav, go get ready for the B12 tourney, and like you want to win…play like conference champoions…CRAP.

This was the preview of our 2nd NCAAT game.
It all depends on what team shows up - the team that doesn’t care to play the game, or the one that hustles, plays smart and makes open shots. Its anyone’s guess as to what will happen.

Saw Chris Rock last night on the tube.
Hadn’t seen him for awhile. Was wondering what had happened to him.
Looks like DIVORCE happened to him.
I hope he is okay.
He was not quite as funny as he used to be.
There was just too much self pity.
But he was VERY funny briefly when talking about finding god!
Wants to find god before god finds him!!!
He is really brilliant.
I like Rock a lot.
I just hope that bad boys in Hollywood didn’t get to him.
-
@jaybate-1.0 I was wondering if you saw my signature line.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Chappelle (sp?) and Rock have declined sadly. Both still kind of funny at times, but not near what they were.
-
Yes, I laughed hard.
Jokes and jobs: those are the only ways to avoid the race war that so many are trying foment.
Americans better start hanging together, or they are going to hang apart.

On this I whole heartedly agree with ya.

So much for HOFHCBS sweep record. He just let a 1 yr interim coach sweep him. Oh well, movin’ on to the conf tourney. At least we’re healthy and can prep for the dance. I hope OSU enjoys their gift from their alum in the NIT.
KU just lost their #1 seed and possibly the Midwest Region. They were itching to give that to Xavier. Now KU gets the consolation prize to the West Coast. I hope they enjoy their long trip which will be a 2 hr difference in time zone. Way to piss that away guys.
-
I was watching some film on DeSousa and he’s a natural. He’s going to be special with Big Dave.

Maybe this will be good for them. Maybe they need to be kicked hard to give some effort and be tougher. Only time will be the judge of that.
-
Maybe they got that ugly out of the way. Who cares about seeding and short travel distances? Not KU…It would’ve been nice for the first few rounds to be in Wichita and Omaha.
-
I don’t mind Self resting his players, I just didn’t know he was going to do it while they were on the court. Also, I wish he had told the rest of us!
-
You all mark my words. OSU will go to the NIT and LOSE in the first round like UK did a while back. I kinda think that would be even more embarrassing if they do. I hope they do the B12 a solid and at least win.
-
Xavier just beat DePaul at DePaul…guess they get that 4th 1-seed and some travel rest.
Again, great job guys. I hope whatever you did was worth it. Enjoy the West Coast. Maybe they’re going to Disney Land?
-
@truehawk93 what do you mean, whatever they did?

I have no idea what exactly they did, tried to do, or wanted to do…but the result was an acceptable loss.
Like you mentioned earlier, they earned this loss by being two games up and winning the B12. They actually proved me right because about 3-4 games ago…maybe OU game, they would win B12 and lose to OSU. Right on queue.
-
And OSU Poke-Tards storm the court…STUPID
-
@truehawk93 there’s never an acceptable loss. I didn’t say that. But to be on their bandwagon last week and jump em this week? Say they were partying and you don’t know, doesn’t seem right to me. Yeah I thought we were outhustled and out toughed. We did outrebound them. Way to many to’s! Svi was off tonight, but I’m not giving up on him. I’d like to keep on fighting for these guys, our guys, and see how far they can go. Half these guys on this board gave up on the games we came back and won the last few years! I know everyone is excited for the new group, but I don’t see a 4 yr Mason, svi or dg in there. Rant over!
-
Well, I see our fanbase is taking the loss in a relatively meaningless game with the usual good humor and keeping our season in perspective!
-
@BShark Disagree. The newest Rock and Chappelle specials solidified them as among the best ever in my mind. Certainly among the best active comedians.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Svi wasn’t supposed to be Svi. I remember the hype around him was 2 years. It’s hard to say how things will shake out. Agbaji and McCormack look like 4 year players to me though. I like the kids we have on the team, it was just a bad effort yesterday for whatever reason.
-
I finally looked at the box score. Two numbers stood out. Bad stat: 1 assist in a total of 120 minutes by all the guards not named Graham. Nice stat: Only one turnover in 51 mins by the subs. (Of course, they might not have had much chance to commit any since the starters were committing 16.)

Are we talking about this Chris Rock?
-
@JayHawkFanToo He’s jumped the damn shark.
-
Many actors/entertainers appear really funny and/or smart when reading lines others wrote for them. When they don’t have a script, have to come up with their own material or worst of all, have to ad lib, they show how, shall we say “not smart” they are.
-
@JayHawkFanToo Agree.
George Carlin will always be one of my favorites, though I’m sure he ruffles some feathers.
-
@JayHawkFanToo @BShark That Jonathan Swift guy, he was such a good author with Gulliver’s Travels. Then he really lost it when he suggested that the Irish famine could be solved if they just would eat their children …
Satirical humor is often painful. If you are only disgusted by what he says and not by why, you aren’t getting it.
-
@mayjay I saw couple of his recent routines and they just weren’t funny.
-
Good satire can be funny, poor satire is not only not funny but offensive as well and promotes divisiveness, particularly when it is not just a single comment but a series of comments designed to provoke a reaction; I would bet dollars to doughnuts his publicist and agent were not amused. Chris Rock’s lines were not funny but offensive to a great deal of people except to those who want to promote race divisiveness. Thanks but no thanks.

I don’t see any evidence for this at all.
NONE!!!
Howling!

I don’t see any reason why board rats aren’t applauding this KU team for helping to improve the chances of a fellow conference member get in the Big Carney.
I also don’t see why board rats are stewing about this loss.
If we lose game 1 of the conference tourney, it will be because its pointless.
If we lose game 2 of the conference tourney, it will be because its pointless.
If we lose game 3 of the conference tourney, it will be because it is pointless.
If we lose the first weekend of the Big Carney, it will be because we shot poorly from three, or because Self was amping one game and not the other.
If we lose the second weekend, it was because either we shot poorly from trey, or we ran into a better team.
If we lose the third weekend, it was because we shot poorly from trey.
That was easy.
