Climbing the Shanghai Tower
-
I hadn’t seen this before. Amazing.
-
The videos of their climbs on shorter megatall skyscrapers might be even more spectacular because there is no fog.
-
@approxinfinity scary
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I got a little “sea sick” just watching the video and the swaying back and forth. Thanks … .
-
yeah it’s absolutely terrifying! I get a little disoriented watching it too.
-
This brings new meaning to death defying.
What’s next?
Let’s finally build a space elevator and let them climb that!!!
-
I think these two have a death wish.
-
Reminds me of the times I climbed to the tops of trees and yelled “dad” come get me down! Ha
-
@approxinfinity amazing.
We were planning a trip to hawaii and my wife told me to find some good hikes. I thought the Haiku Stairs looked fun.
-
@DanR oh man! Incredible. I love the swing. Thankful for the fraction of humanity willing to take such chances, and those generous enough to take pictures and share.
-
@DanR When and where? We have kids on Maui and Oahu, so I can get some good hike references for you if you want. We go back to Maui on Nov 30 for 18 days!
-
The way I look at it is if you fall fifty feet or 1000 feet you’re just as dead and most of us have probably climbed something 50 feet with no protection.
-
I think it’s a little windier up there.
-
@wissox Got a lot more time to think about the landing at 1000 feet though!
-
@mayjay Late in replying… We were planning to go last summer but my dad passed away and we bailed on the trip. My wife and I might go next year for our 30th anniversary, but nothing definite planned yet. March or July ish
-
@DanR Sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you get to go in spring! I will look forward to hearing about it. We will just be hanging with the gkids on Maui this next trip, but when my wife retires in 2018 we will make longer trips and get to explore the other islands.
-
And take crimson w/us, too!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Ah Crimson, you had best beware. That guy is reputed to be a retired attorney; and everyone knows that those guys are as tricky and pernicious as hungry Washington Post and NY Times investigative reporters working the D.C. political beat!

@REHawk Moi?
